Humanity's Potential

I was woken up by Evangeline. She had woken me up so I could eat, and so I sat up slowly. My body felt really stiff from sleeping on the ground, however it was something I was trying to fix as soon as possible.

[You have gained wood x50.]

[You have gained stone x30.]

[You have gained wooden bed x1.]

It seems the heavens heard my prayers, so I immediately created one of the wooden houses. When it finished, everyone was eyeing the house greedily.

"I am able to make more houses, I just need time to sleep and I am able to make more. From now on, Matthew and Evangeline will be in charge while I am asleep." I said, before walking to Nadia. She was still in her afk mode, however I looked at the notifications and decided she could stop for now.

[Nadia has learned how to grill meat.]

[Nadia has advanced level 2.]

[Nadia is now a Cook.]

When I stopped her grinding, her eyes instantly came back to focus, and she smiled brightly. Looking around, her eyes eventually landed on me.

"My Lord! Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to experience that. I felt an influx of new information appear in my head, as if I had experienced it myself, and now I still keep that information!" she was incredibly excited and it began to affect the others. Everyone was a little skeptical about my powers, but now Nadia was singing praises for it.

I simply nodded, and went into my new house. It was a small wooden house, just that. I constructed a bed, and then I lay down on it. It was miles better than the hard ground. I had to force myself to get up and get food. Nadia had tried a new roasting technique that made the boar much better tonight. I ate my fill, and then went to my house. I instructed everyone on the watch for tonight, and then walked to Evangeline.

"Evangeline. I wanted to know what you wished to train towards, seeing as how you are my most trusted aide." I said.

Evangeline had a shocked expression.

"I am your most trusted? But, I have yet to prove myself..." She said, looking down at the end of her sentence.

"I am a good judge of character. I trust you, so I want you to be someone who is given the opportunities to further yourself. So what is it you would like to achieve in this world?"

Evangeline went silent, before looking up and looking into my eyes.

"I want to become your knight, so I can protect you, my Lord." Evangeline said with conviction. Looking at her, I knew she had put a lot of thought behind this, and that she had to collect the courage to say it outloud.

I looked down at the kneeling Evangeline, and selected her for Knight's training. I told her I would set it to go until I woke up, and then I would turn it off do she could rest. She agreed happily. I activated it, and she then walked away and began swinging a piece of wood in the air. I just watched because I thought it was odd, but moved on after a moment of watching her repeat the motions.

I activated my talent and then went to sleep on my new bed.

When I woke up, I looked over my notifications of the night.

[You have gained wood x170.]

[You have gained stone x150.]

[You have gained Cultivation Technique.]

[You have gained wooden bed x1.]

I was happy about the cultivation technique, it would allow me to train some of my people as cultivators. Which meant they could live longer, and gain powerful abilities. As I was thinking these things, I went outside and directly created two more houses near mine.

I pointed at Matthew and Evangeline, then at the houses. They both brightened up, and walking into their new homes. I made my way outside the small village, and relieved myself. We had to resort to digging holes on the side of the village away from the river to use the bathroom... The village was in a dire position because of sanitation and lack of amenities.

I settled the affairs of the village quickly, and asked who would like to try their hand at cultivation. Matthew was surprisingly the only one who wanted to do it. Cultivators required many resources, that I currently did not have. I had no techniques other than a cultivation technique, which meant he could only build his base and work ob strengthening his body for now.

I applied put Nadia, Matthew, and Evangeline all to AFK mode. I then spent time looking over the different tabs available. It was unfortunate that I had to be asleep for my AFK mode to gather resources, but I could go one day without it. I began to see what my tribesmen were doing when I was asleep, and it didn't seem to be very productive at all. Rychter was sleeping constantly, this was my fault however, since I never took him off recover. He had been recovering for almost three days, which meant he had effectively been resting for 30 days.

I took him off rest, and woke him up. We checked his movement, and didn't see any problems. The break that happened before was a clean break, allowing the bones to easily come back together with proper rest. I then had a long conversation with him about his and my relationship. I was his leader, not his master or his ruler. I only wanted everyone to prosper, and find happiness. After we got that out of the way, he then explained how he used to work on a farm. He wasn't an ambitious person, but he wanted to try and change for the better.

"That's fine. Let me help you then. What is it you want to be?" I asked him. His loyalty had risen to 100, so I didn't have to worry about him betraying me anymore, and I wanted to give him the strength to rise past his old life.

"Sir... I think I just want to be a simple farmer again.. Killing those deer and the boar didn't suit me, I felt... Shame, from taking a life. I want to raise livestock, and I understand that we eat livestock but I can give them their best lives until we need them to continue living ours." Rychter was very convicted. He truly felt passionate about becoming a farmer, to which I just smiled and placed my hand on his shoulder.

"Then I will help you become the best farmer that you can be. I'll set you to gain experience now, if that is alright with you, unless you'd like to get some food first?"

"No sir, thank you, I just ate so I am ready." Rychter said smiling.

I smiled back, and started his exp grind. I was glad he had turned over a new leaf, he was much more honest with others and most importantly honest with himself. I then began to look at a window called the Marketplace, and was able to see that by trading resources I could acquire blueprints to make different amenities. It seemed the resources I would need would be double that of what was needed to actually build the item I wanted to build, on to of having to build it myself. Meaning if I wanted to buy a Blueprint for a wooden bed, which required 50 wood to build, I would need to pay 100 wood to buy it, and still need the 50 wood to build it.

This was incredibly expensive seeing as how I could only earn around 100 wood per night, I needed to find a way to procure tools. I needed to start having my tribesmen gather stones and wood. I went to go speak with Hyndral about the matter, since he was the expert.
