Viktor smiled and waved him to a chair, taking out some alcohol for special occasions.

Erik came and sat down. Viktor poured two glasses and smiled "Very good. Business in this part of town is great!" be paused and shook his head, adding "I guess that should be a bad thing?"

Erik chuckled "Not for you." as he clinked his glass with Viktor's and drank. Viktor put his cup down and smiled "What brings you here, Erik?" Erik sighed and said "Me and Charles had a falling out."

Viktor sighed and Erik continued "Do you know? He's crippled for life! I didn't expect this scenario…" Viktor patted his shoulder and sighed "These things happen. Don't blame yourself."

Erik said with regret "But it IS my fault… If I hadn't deflected a bullet in that direction…" Viktor perfunctorily asked for the details and Erik told him what happened.

Viktor sighed, "I told that Agent not to shoot at you…" before shaking his head. Erik suddenly asked "My friend, do you think I'm right?"

Erik smiled wryly and Viktor suddenly said seriously "In my honest opinion, neither you nor Charles are correct." Erik raised a brow and said seriously "My friend, please explain."

Viktor tapped on the table and explained "People will always hate and fear Mutants. This is what you explained with the Neanderthals and Homosapiens, but you forgot that everyone has a bit of Neanderthal blood in them. In essence we are descendants of both!"

Erik nodded and Viktor continued with a smile "My children will be Mutants as well as human, maybe they won't have any powers at all! Will they hate their brothers and sisters? Obviously not."

He cleared his throat and said seriously "If you want my opinion on a solution…" before pausing and smiling wryly "You won't like it." Erik frowned and said seriously "Please speak your mind, my friend."

Viktor took a breath and said seriously "The solution is simple, slaughter the government and force human-mutant breeding across the world. When everyone is a Mutant will people hate Mutants?"

Erik was stunned and looked at Viktor strangely, chuckling "For a doctor, you sure are a lunatic." Viktor rubbed his nose and replied with embarrassment "It worked for me, so…" Erik shook his head and laughed, "In the end, you are more in line with my ideals."

Viktor nodded and tilted his head from side to side "Somewhat. I do believe that Mutants are the next step in Evolution… but not everyone is as carefree as myself. Erik, you understand, right? Even if you kill almost all the humans they will still hate Mutants! It's not only fear, but greed and jealousy."

Erik frowned and clenched his fists, saying "I understand perfectly, Viktor. It's just… What else can I do?! Our brothers and sisters are being used as lab rats everywhere!" he slammed his fist on the table angrily, saying helplessly "We're not strong enough to stop them!"

Viktor poured him some more alcohol and sighed "I understand your pain, Erik. There is another way. Simply live in seclusion with all Mutants on an island. This is essentially running away but at least you can give them a peaceful life."

Erik sighed and drank, holding his forehead. Viktor nudged him and chuckled "Who made you a leader of the Mutants, eh? Hahahaha~" Erik smiled wryly and shook his head.

Suddenly, there were sirens outside.

Viktor frowned and said "Erik, go hide in the second room on the right behind the bookshelf. There's a big safe in there." Erik nodded and walked away quickly, keeping his ears open.

A group of policemen walked in with their guns drawn, shouting "Put your hands up!"

Viktor raised his hands and smiled calmly "Gentlemen, may I help you?" the police looked at Viktor and waved their hands, saying "Have you seen a man in black with a shaved beard?"

Viktor put down his hands and asked "Could you be more specific? I see many people in my clinic." The police handed him a drawing and Viktor looked at it, nodding "I've seen him."

The police were joyful and the leader asked politely "Doctor, could you tell us where he went? This is a serious criminal case, any help is good help!" Viktor walked with the officer outside the door and pointed to the alleyway, saying "He left down this alleyway, but I only saw him turn a corner."

Viktor sighed and apologized "Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance, gentlemen." The officer in charge smiled and patted Viktor's shoulder, comforting "That's alright, Doctor. Your reputation in Hell's Kitchen is still very good! Hahaha~"

Viktor smiled and offered "Perhaps I could take a look at you gentlemen? Free of charge, of course. Protecting the streets is a stressful job."

Some of the policemen and woman perked up but the officer in charge shook his head with a smile, saying "Thank you, Doctor. Maybe some other time." Viktor nodded and said "I wish you luck then. If you need any medical assistance, you know my hours."

The police thanked him and left quickly.
