Chapter 41: Grand Elder Guru

Gohan felt fantastic. His body was brimming with power like never before. The Grand elder Guru had unlocked the hidden power of him.

Moori was impressed. He already knew that the little boy had great power, but he would never have thought that he was so amazing, he was unusual.

"His Ki is incredible" Nail spoke stupefied, it was the first time he felt such an extraordinary energy, "Grand Elder Guru, is you alright?"

"Don't worry, Nail, even with my health, awakening his powers wasn't complicated" said Guru to reassure him, "How are you feeling little one?"

"Grand Elder Guru, I've never felt so good" replied Gohan looking at the old man with a smile, "With this power, I will protect Namek!"

Guru nodded, it was not necessary for Gohan to tell him because when he unlocked his potential he could see that he had a noble heart.

"Now that you have the dragon balls, what is your intention?" Moori asked looking at the boy, who thoughtfully put his hand to his chin.

Everything had gone according to his plans, he had the dragon balls in his hands and Frieza hadn't landed either. What was he to do?

"Well, I'll stay here for a while, I would like to learn many things from the Grand Elder Guru if it's not a bother, of course" answered the young man looking at them.

"Oh, what can I teach you young earthling?" Guru was quite curious about it. Moori and Nail were just like the elder Guru.

"Heheheh, before that I would like to ask something" Gohan said seriously, "Is it possible to get all the Namekians to come here?"

"How? What do you mean by that?" Moori asked not understanding what Gohan was getting at.

"Soon several evil ones will be on Namek, and it is probable that they will search for the dragon balls in the six villages of this planet"

"So to prevent anything bad from happening I'd like everyone to be here, this is the safest place in all of Namek" Gohan explained.

It was sad that in the anime so many innocents died, especially the village that Vegeta exterminated... but here everything would be different!

"I see, my children will be in danger out there" Guru spoke, "I will tell everyone to come immediately to stay in this place"

"That's a fantastic idea!" exclaimed Moori clenching his fists happily, "In addition to strength, you have impressive intelligence"

"I just want everyone to be safe before things get bad" Gohan said placidly laying his hands on the back of his neck.

"And I appreciate your concern, in a few hours they will be here" intervened the Grand Elder Guru, "Well boy, what do you want to learn?" he asked him.

Gohan smiled at that. The time had come to expose one of the main reasons why he decided to go to Namek.

"You are the one who created the dragon balls... but where does the knowledge of dragons come from?" inquired the intrigued little boy.

Nail looked at him stunned by such a bold question, Moori was also stunned. But of course... Gohan knew all that beforehand.

"A long time ago an ancient Namekian elder gathered knowledge of the universe into a book that is passed down from generation to generation"

"The namekian book of legends, when I became the Guru and inherited the book I used it to endow Porunga with knowledge" the Grand Elder Guru spoke.

Moori widened his eyes in puzzlement, he had never heard of such a book of legends. This would explain the vast wisdom possessed by the dragon Porunga.

Of course, Gohan already knew that. In the original series Shenron explained that the Super Saiyan God ritual was recorded in that book.

But beyond that, nothing was said. So it occurred to him that perhaps Guru could give him an answer to that big doubt he had.

"Each one in the dragon clan has a part of the knowledge of the book, that's why they can create dragon balls" expressed Guru.

'I see… that would explain why Kami-sama is able to do it, and why Shenron has knowledge about the book' Gohan inquired.

"I hope I have answered your questions" the Grand Elder Guru finished with his explanation, "May I ask why you wanted to know all this?"

"I'll be honest, I would like to read the book" declared the boy straight to the point, "I want to learn a lot about the namekians, please Grand Elder Guru"

Moori peered at him curiously, for what reason did he have such a thirst for knowledge?Although, it was also good to hear that he wanted to know more about them.

"I understand your reasons, but you should know that it's impossible for you to create dragon balls even with the knowledge of the book" Guru spoke.

"My intention is not really to create spheres, I want to know several things about the universe" Gohan stated with a smile on his lips.

And if possible, learn skills like telekinesis or telepathy. The Namekians were versed in the psycho-spiritual aspects.

"Okay earthling, I trust you will use the book's knowledge for good" the patriarch indicated as he slowly brought his hands together.

And then a great book, with Namekian inscriptions on the cover, appeared in his hands. Gohan was shocked seeing it.

"The Namekian Book of Legends" Gohan muttered as the book floated towards him and shrunk until it fit in both of his hands.

"It's written in the namekian language, so I translated it so you could understand it" added Guru starting to cough and Nail approached.

"Grand Elder Guru, are you sure to do this? To give such a sacred book to a stranger from another planet…" Nail inquired looking at the elder Guru.

"That stranger has come from his distant planet willing to give his life for Namek, I'm sure of my decision" declared Guru firmly.

Nail nodded and watched as Gohan sat down on the floor with the book between his legs. Moori leaned against a nearby wall and sighed.

"I'll have to go much faster" said Gohan clasping his hands together and then two copies of him manifested themselves in front of everyone, "Let's read guys!"

The Doppelganger began to read the book, while the Namekians watched this situation in amazement. No doubt this child was intriguing.

"Yes, everything is ready, although the only thing missing is to fit better speakers to the hearing equipment"

Who said this was Dr. Briefs. He was with Goku inside a ship, which was made based on the ship in which Goku arrived on Earth.

It was already all set. A few minutes ago, Yajirobe came to give him Senzu beans and with that the travel could already be carried out.

"Only that?! I already want to travel doctor Briefs, I can't wait any longer!" Goku exclaimed moving frantically and Dr Briefs sighed smiling.

"Well, okay, you can start your travel to Namek" the man asserted, "It will take you six days to get there, one more than your son Gohan"

"Very well Dr. Briefs!" Goku said with a big smile and ran outside, "Hey! We can go now!" he yelled looking at his brother.

Raditz, who had been lounging under the shade of a tree, gave a slight smile and walked over to the capsule. Finally, he will go to Namek.

"Are you going to Namek Goku?" Chi-Chi asked putting his hands together, and next to her were Bulma, Krillin, Tenshinhan and the other friends.

"Yes" Goku spoke with a smile looking at his wife and his friends, "Take care guys, we'll be back very soon. Keep training as usual!"

Goku was going to leave but suddenly he remembered what he did last time. For some reason, Chi-Chi hadn't gotten angry since he did that.

'She seemed happy, if I do it again maybe she won't get angry if I come back to Earth late' Goku thought going back to his wife, who was surprised.

"Goku what..." Chi-Chi was going to say but again her lips were kissed by Goku's, who a few seconds later ran away.

They all stayed silent, they never thought that Goku could do that! Chi-Chi instead fell on her legs blushing enormously.

"And what was that?" Raditz asked with an arched eyebrow and Goku sat up, hitting the launch button without warning, "You idiot!"

The older Saiyan held on as best he could while the ship rose into the sky heading for Namek, a planet they would reach in six days.
