Chapter 14: Guys nostalgia x explaining demon lords

1 hour later

Riku POV

After shaking Guy's hand and confirming our friendship started to take a little more about the future. I told him about my plan to go to the ogre village and recruit some of them and recruit other monsters that I can train and maybe grant a special few a schrift.

He then told me about his game with Rudra, a former chosen hero who now rules over the eastern empire to see who will control the world. He told me how he use to fight against him alll the time but decided to settle it with a game where they can't attack each other directly and use people as pawns like a game of chess.

Guy:"By the way, If your going to create a place where the quincies can live happily, does that mean your going to create a nation and become its king?"

Me:"Yes that was part of my plan but I am in no hurry to start a nation. I need to gather allies that can help me even manage a nation. Right now I also have to be careful if the other quincies come after me in an attempt to take my position of being incharge of the Wandenreichs operations in the cardinal world."

Guy:"Yeah I see what you mean. It was like that with Rain and Misery before I beat them and gave them names."

Me:"I planned on having some members of the wandenriech join my side, but I know that there will be some who will remain fiercely loyal to him. I know I may end up starting a civil war against Yhwach, I am not naive anough to think I can't achieve my goals without casualties. If I am going to give the quincies a future where they can be happy, I will have to do what needs to be done."

Guy:"That's good to hear, most people don't come to that realization so soon in their life."

Well I am on my second life, living as a soldier in my first life can knock the nativity right out of you. I know that survival of the fittest is something thats omniversal, so I must get strong in order to survive. I also want the quincies to survive, so I will make sure they gain the strength needed to survive.

Guy:"Tell me something, would you be willing to recruit hollows, demons and otherworlders to your side?"

Me:"Yes I would recruit them. However when it comes to otherworlders I don't want to separate people from the ones they care about, but I do have an idea about a work around."

Guy:"Oh? Do tell."

I then explained to him my ideas to summon the souls of people who died from another world and provide a new vessel for them. I also told him about how I was working on creating gigais from my old world that could be used as vessels for those would be summoned and to use them for demons.

Since they otherworlders had already died in their world, I am essentially giving them a second chance at life. That could lead to lasting loyalty when you give someone a new life after they lost their old one. I would rather not use the locking curse to force obedience, as Momonga in overlord said; earning someones trust and using gratitude to chain them will bring greater gain then forcing them to labor for us would.

Guy:"Quite the interesting concept, I like it. Give me a minute."

After he said that, I see him using [archive magic] to look up something from his accumulated knowledge. I knew he'd get a handle on it quickly. What was he doing? Then I saw a loading bar above my head, is he sending me knowledge? As soon as the bar filled my head, it feels weird being on the receiving end of [archive magic].

Damn, I didn't expect Guy to give me knowledge that could potentially accelerate my plans. But since he is a demon, it's more than likely that he will want something in return for this.

Guy:"I just transferred knowledge that should be helpful in that [summoning] and the gigai."

Me:"Let me guess, you want me to help you in your game with Rudra when I create my nation?"

Guy:"You figured me out that quickly?" he said with a slight smile.

Me:"Well you are a demon, I know tales of demons granting wishes for a price."

Guy:"True."

Me:"Plus, I had the feeling I might face the east empire sometime in the future, so I'll help you. Besides, what are friends for. Anyway, I should get going and check on how my allies are fairing with the magic knowledge I gave them."

Guy:"Well, I'll see you later then."

Me:"Yeah and we have multiple ways to chat with each other. See you later Guy, Velzard, Rain and Misery."

After saing our farewells, I opened a portal back to the location I left Bambie and the others to let them know what happened. I'm sure they will be surprised that I formed a connection with the strongest demon lord.

Third POV

After Riku left the castle, Guy Crimson sat on the chair thinking about what happened with Riku. And he was not the only one, Velzard was thinking about it as well.

Guy:"Velzard, what do you think of Riku? " he said as he turns to face the true dragon.

Velzard:"I think he's a kind person despite the pain he's been through. He also reminds me of how Rudra use to be."

Guy:"I agree, in fact when I tested him with my [demon lord presence], he obtained the unique skill [chosen one]."

When Guy Crimson said this, everyone in the room were shocked that the quincy obtained a unique skill that use to belong to the emperor of the eastern empire. Before now, the only person who had the [chosen one] skill was Rudra Nam Ul Nasca, also known as the first chosen hero from 998 years ago. He was able to reincarnate himself in a way that keeps his memories and skills; but after reincarnating for so long that he lost his [chosen one] skill.

Velzard:"He has [chosen one]!? He only became an enlightened recently and obtained Rudras unique skill?"

Guy:"Yes it is something. It also means that the number Rudra was reincarnated has caused his soul to erode to such an extent that he lost a skill that made him a hero. though he still has the ultimate skill [Micheal, Lord of Justice]."

Misery:"With Sir Rikus current rate of progression, he could also become a saint in less than a year and possible obtain several ultimate skills."

Rain:"Yeah and it would only mean more work for us."

They all had their thoughts about Riku, but he has done nothing that would make them consider him an enemy.

Guy:"Well all we can do for now is to sit back and watch. can you handle that Misery?"

Misery:"Yes lord Guy."

So for they decided to keep an eye on Riku, If he becomes a problem then they will take him out. However if he doesn't become a problem then he could be a reliable ally. So the question on their minds is; will Riku become a problem or not?

Mirror dimension

Riku POV

I walk out of the portal to the mirror dimension to find a bolt of lightning made of magicules coming straight at me. I was able to see it coming using [thought acceleration]. I'll try eating the lightning, so I use [magic manipulation] to move the lightning to my mouth then [glutton] to eat the lightning and send it to my [stomach].

After eating the lightning I see Bambie and Candy having a spar which is causing massive destruction. It's a good thing I have them train in the mirror dimension, otherwise I would be getting an earful from the Dryads. I'll need to remind them to be careful when fighting in a forest when we get there.

Me:"Hey I'm back!" I yelled to make sure they heard me.

After I let them know I was back they rushed at me all at once, they mist have been worried huh?

Gigi:"So how did it go meeting the strongest demon lord?"

Candy:"Yeah your giving off a different vibe then you were before."

Me:"Okay, here's what happened."

I then spent the next hour explaining how I was having a chat with Guy Crimson about our world. I made sure to tell them that I vouched for them to make sure they they won't be targeted. They felt relieved that they won't be hunted by the strongest demon lord or his subordinates. They were shocked when I told them that I ended up becoming friends with Guy and Velzard.

Bambie:"So you now have connections with two of the oldest demon lords and a True dragon!? Thats insane!"

Me:"Well its true, but there's more to tell."

I then explained that Guy is currently in a game with the emperor of the eastern empire to see who will control the world. They were half-surprised at how the strongest demon lord is treating world domoination as a game. I told them that I would help Guy in his game if I either create a nation in this world or become a monarch, whichever comes first.

They were curious as to how he and I came to that arrangement, So I told them that he gave me knowledge on [demon summoning] and [otherworlder summoning] and the [birthday] spell. They were in awe that I recieved something that could increase the size of our forces quickly but.

Me:"Listen everyone, we are not using the [demon summoning] and [otherworlder summoning] yet, it takes time and preparation to summon someone from another world and the success rate is very low."

Gigi:"What about the [demon summoning]? why can't we use that?"

Me:" Demons need a physical body to unleash their true power. They can create a temporary body using magicules, but then they can't use the full extent of their abilities. Before we met I was also trying to create gigais from our world That could be used for summoning demons and other spiritual life forms."

Gigi:"I see."

Me:"Also there are still four other primorials demons that could end up being summoned. I want to be strong enough to show them I am not someone they can push around."

Candy:"Makes sense, If the demon you summoned decided to kill you then you would be screwed."

Me:"Exactly, that is exactly how Guy Crimson became a demon lord. A nation summoned Rouge the primordial red to destroy an enemy nation but not only did he destroy that nation but he also destroyed the nation that summoned him."

I then explained to them how when monsters meet certain conditions, they'll obtain the [demon lord seed]. The [demon lord seed] requires the souls of humans or demi-humans for that monster to become a true demon lord.

Me:" the process of evolving into a true demon lord is called the [harvest festival]."

Bambie:"Aren't all the demon lords true demon lords?"

Me:"Not quite, let me explain."

I then went on to explain that some of the demon lords are in name only like Leon Cromwell, Clayman, Carrion, Frey, Roy Valentin, and Dagruel. That Guy Crimson, Milim, and Dino are true demon lords and that Ramiris is an exception because she was contaminated by the magicules from Guy and Milim when they fought after Milims awakening.

Me:"Lets get some rest, I am sure your physically and mentally tired. We can continue our travels in the morning."

After I said that we left the mirror dimension and I took out the camping gear from my [storage]. Each of us slept in a tent while Nacha stayed up and kept watch since it is a slime and does not need sleep. It should be able to handle weak monsters since it could copy my body and learned some magic with bambie and the others. After thinking of what happened today I layer down and drifted into dream land.

next morning

I start walk up from a night of sleep to see the light of the sun so I leave the tent and take a deep breath.

Me:"*inhale* hhhhaaaaaa, nice to take a breath of fresh air."

After saying that, I look toward the other tents to see that they are still asleep. I'll start preparing breakfast so we can have a nice meal before we pack up and head to the ogre village.

I will make a simple eggs and bacon sandwich, classic breakfast for us to eat to gain some energy. I took out the ingrediants and the utensils needed to make our meal. As the smell spreads into the air I hear rustling from the tents leading me to think that they are waking up and probably feeling hungry.

Bambie:"What is that amazing smell?"

Liltotto:"Yeah that smell is making me hungry."

Candy:"Wait, You can cook!?"

Me:"Why are so surprised? I was able to survive in this world for a month, If I weren't able to cook I would have died within a week. I was also able to get some spices from a merchant I know."

Meni:"He does have a point there."

Me:"After we have breakfast, well prepare to continue to our next destination."

Gigi:"where would that be?"

Me:"The ogre village."

They had all Widen before they ask questions about if ogres here are like the fantasy or folklore. I explained that there are monsters that sound like they are from fantasy and folklore in our old world but they may not be like the ones they know.

I should also explain what named monsters are and how they get named; otherwise the may end up naming monsters at random and use up to many magicules and pass out.
