(Klaus POV)

As we left my lab I ask "How far is closest portkey ward stone from this town?"

Ivy thinks for a second and then says "Some hundred kilometers." I nod at that.

While we have a lot of portkey locations, it is impossible to have it everywhere, so we put the ward stones close to more populated cities.

"Let's go to the garage, we can use this trip to test my new brooms." I say. While I can fly without a broom, Ivy can't, and it is just so much fun to ride them.

When we get to the garage we pick two brooms. Both brooms have seats as well as handles similar to those you would see on a motorcycle, there are also leg rests. This is similar to standard travelling brooms from Lily's time, those brooms we have seen in the movies are sports brooms they aren't used for travelling. While cushioning charm can make it bearable, they can't beat a proper seat.

After taking our brooms we go to portkey hub, and portkey to Italy. From there we mount our broomsticks and fly towards the town that was destroyed.

It took us bit more than an hour of flying to get here to the town, we fly above few villages luckily all our magitech has invisibility illusion enchantment installed on it.

As we come closer to the town I can feel the ambient mana, it is chaotic, witch isn't good. Ambient mana feels like this only after some big ritual and for it to still feel like this it had to be a huge one. Ambient mana usually returns to normal few minutes after ritual is performed, so this had to be a huge one.

After lending I started investigating the area. There are many signs of wolf attacks but no dead bodies, a lot of claw marks on walls and doors, paw prints on earth, with are quite big.

After sometime I use my telekinesis to sense area around me. After few seconds I find an underground space.

"There is something underground, can you open it carefully." I say.

"I am on it." After Ivy says that ground starts to open and plants start growing around a hole making stairs for us.

Ivy is a druid, she has affinity for earth magic, plant magic and some control over animals she can even talk to them. While some of things she can do can be reconstructed with wand spells, a lot of it is unique for a druid, mainly plant and animal control.

After the path is opened we travel down to find a gient ritual room. there are a lot of dead bodies there, and all of them seem to be mages. There are also parts of a wolf around the ritual circle as well as some notes.

After carefully levitating to the notes I read them without touching them.

"Hey papa, why are you still in your hybrid form?" Ivy asks me while I read.

"Mostly because I can. While Lily and I lived among humans I had to stay in either one of my human forms, so when I don't have to be in human form, I enjoy my hybrid one." I answer.

"Well that makes sense." Ivy says. Ivy's cat form is a lynx. All my daughters have interesting forms Diana is white tigress, Ivy a lynx and Zatanna a black cat.

After reading the notes I say. "Well I think I got what happened here." .

"So what happened?" Ivy asks.

"Well someone saw on of our kind and wanted to recreate it. Unfortunately they used that accursed book. I will need you to portkey home and tell your mother to call sorcerer supreme."

"What book?" Ivy asks as she prepares to activate her portkey.

"Darkhold. They found a ritual that helped them to create what they wanted, but it also killed them all, it turned the towns people, and now world has werewolves. Even if we try I doubt we can stop it from spreading."

"Why if we hunt down all the towns people won't it stop?" Ivy asks.

"No, this is a curse on the world. If we kill all the werewolves, new one would just show up. If we imprisoned them all they would somehow run away no matter what we do. There will always be at last as many werewolves as there was people turned in this town roaming the world. Those idiots didn't even understand what would happen, they only knew that they would create a werecreature in this case a wolf. "

After we managed to get sorcerer supreme to get the book that was hidden in a false wall in the ritual room, we returned to the Avalon.

We decided to get at least one werewolf to see if something can be done about them. We will find out many things about them for example lycanthropy influences mages differently then non mages.

While non mages can actually learn to control their wolf form to some extent and even turn at will, except during the full moon, mages aren't able to do so. Mages inherit magic seems to fight the disease, making them suffer and unable to get control, except if they give control to the wolf instead, but then they just become a monsters full-time.
