Artwork: https://twitter.com/dodaydust/status/777141615328567296 _____________________________________________________ During Gon's and Killua's stay in the NGL, they get to meet a rather unusual character. A two-star hunter by the name of Ashton. Btw, the stars are not decided by strength, but by contribution to society. Romance will be later in the series btw. This is a HxH fanfic starting at the beginning of the Chimera Arc.

Nen Cancelling

__________ POV Ashton__________

So, what exactly is the deal with this spear? It seems to be just normal.

I tapped my finger on its sharp, pointed tip. It wasn't able to penetrate the defences of my nen. It even cracked a bit.

While I was looking at the spear and studying it, these guys actually managed to kill two of my clones.

The fact that they use Nen seems to be what is making them win. When using Gyo, I can see that there is a strange Aura powering them up.

Just like Kurapika and the princes described during the meeting. This doesn't look in any way natural, so I guess this further confirms what we concluded during the meeting.

Another person charged me, he was carrying a katana. Just as I was about to throw the broken spear his way, a ball and chain cut me off.

I gained the same sense of danger, but this time, I forced my body not to respond. I just used Ten and tried to block the hit.

I let it hit my side, and, to my surprise, it actually went right through my Ten and cracked a few ribs. It didn't manage to move me from my place.

This leads me to believe one thing. This strange Aura allowed them to ignore any Nen defences...

"Odd... So odd..." This is the first time I've seen something like this. The wounds aren't really important, they are already rapidly healing.

The man with the ball and chain looked a bit shocked as I grabbed his weapon with my arm. He tried to yank me towards the katana-wielding attacker.

For some strange reason, I can't use Nen on that one hand at all. That strange Aura has entered my arm somewhat and seems to be hindering my Aura nodes.

This is strange, but even if I can't use Nen, my physical strength isn't something they can overcome.

I pulled him towards me violently, by the time he let go of his part of the chain he was already rapidly slingshooting towards me.

I cocked my fist backwards and punched his face as he passed by my side. His head burst like watermelon and pieces of his skull hit the Katana wielder like shrapnel from a frag grenade.

He was also blown backwards as if hit by a shotgun shell.

It was a gruesome sight, but I felt like punishing him a bit. I don't really appreciate being injured. Even if I allowed it to happen.

My Aura nodes seemed to be able to expel that aura after I let go of the chain. So at least my arm's back to normal...

"Now, I guess I should take out the rest of them..." I muttered as I grabbed the headless body by one leg and threw it towards the people still struggling to fight Kurapika.

They were forced to break apart to dodge the copse. They spread out in different directions, most of them managed to dodge the attack.

But one of the attackers was still hit by it, and he was crushed into the wall because of his carelessness.

"The rest of you can take a break." I looked at all of the servants in the room. Most of them didn't dare to refute me. But Theta did look a bit concerned.

I guess she was close enough to hear some of my ribs crack? Oh well, that's already healed.

"That applies to you too, Kurapika." I stared at the young blonde. He looked at the three people that were still facing him.

But, instead of retreating behind me like the other servants. He walked towards the door that was their only exit and sat down. He stared at them like a snake staring at mice.

Heh, I like this kid's guts. But that's not really necessary. None of them has any chance to escape.

There were currently only 14 attackers left alive. A lot of them were injured severely, but they could still move.

I want to capture a few of them. I'd quite like to look into this Aura that allows them to ignore all Nen defences.

I made a few more clones and watched the attackers struggle. I don't really feel like fighting all that many people right now.

It wouldn't be too difficult, but I have no reason to further stain my clothes with their blood. The last attack already dirtied my pristine white coat in a few spots.

It took them about 1 minute to break. The clones quickly outnumbered them and overwhelmed them with their physical strength.

4 people were left alive, but just barely. I slowly walked towards two of them and opened up my void space. I grabbed them and threw them inside.

"What are you going to do to them?" Asked Kurapika curiously as he looked at the rest of the corpses.

"I need to look into this Aura of theirs. I'm sure you've noticed, but it seems to ignore our Ten." He just nodded.

"I wasn't able to tell during the assassination attempt on Oita, but that's just because they hadn't managed to hit me. A few attacks grazed me this time though..." Yep, that sounds about right.

"Oh well, we will have time to look into those things properly. We can interrogate the other two after somewhat treating their injuries." My proposal seemed to be accepted.

The servants got to work and also started cleaning up the corpses while I changed my coat and looked around the room for a bit.

I didn't immediately return to Momoze. Kurapika himself seemed to want to have a few words with me. Although he didn't seem quite proficient in voicing his desires.

"What's bothering you, young man? What is on your mind? Is something bothering you?" I asked him as I walked beside him outside of the room and away from the other servants.

He didn't specifically ask me to follow him out. But I do still want to clarify things about our relationship. I did go quite the distance for him, and he has yet to show much gratitude.

The two of us walked quite a bit, none of us made an effort to start the conversation after my questions.

But, eventually. Kurapika stopped. I took a step in front of him and faced him. He stared into my eyes. I could see the colour of his eyes slowly fluctuating.

"Ashton... Sir, tell me honestly. Were you truly the first customer of the troupe? Were you the one that initially sent them towards the Kurta Clan?"

Well, there it is... Here is where I can choose. Do I strengthen my lies once more? Or do I finally try to tell the truth for once?
