Discovering...

Moving through the floors as there was nothing but empty rooms I came across a room full of books and scriptures on the walls. It looked like someone had spent a considerable amount of time here. I started looking through the books in this little library.

"basics about NEN"

"The dark continent"

"zoldyck family"

"Isaac Netero"

Looking through all the different books was quite the experience. Never in my life had I ever met nor known about these names. As I was curious about all the new information I opened the book that read:

"the dark continent...mhm should be interesting"

The first thing that greeted me inside this book was a live image of the world as we know it, zoomed out quite far where you only see the continents and when it was fully zoomed out what greeted me was the sight of straight kaos. Gigantic squids the size of a city, dinosaurs even bigger. A fly eating the bigger dinosaur. I closed the book with a wham!

'oh...shit that actually frightened me a bit'

I never let the book out of my sight. Even though the book spooked me a bit I couldn't help but open the book again as a part of myself couldn't quench the thirst for adventure. I didn't even know what I wanted to do a couple of days ago. But I know now for sure that I want to do something dangerous. I think i'm addicted to adrenaline.

After spending a couple of hours reading through the books available to me, I came to understand what the world has hidden from the public as well as me.

There is something called NEN? which is described as some sort of supernatural power, though I don't know if these books have any credibility as there is no author written in the book. There is something called the four basics:

Ten (点テン, Ten; "Point"): Focus the mind, reflect upon the self and determine the goal.

Zetsu (舌ゼツ, Zetsu; "Tongue"): Put it into words.

Ren (錬レン, Ren; "Temper"): Intensify your will.

Hatsu (発ハツ, Hatsu; "Release"): Put it to action

I don't actually understand any of this but it does interest me a lot haha. There were also books about some traditional assassin family that has been around for over 100 years. The book containing The assassin family was fairly old and unkempt, whilst the book about this Isaac Netero was recently added to the collection by the looks of it. The head of the current Zoldyck family Maha Zoldyck as well as Isaac Netero had once gone to the Dark continent together and after they returned to the normal world Isaac banned any travel to the dark continent.

But the book that interested me the most was the one about the dark continent. It was written that there is no fight to decide who's stronger, there is only one rule in that accursed world, and that is to fight for survival. Beasts with gigantic bodies, beasts with insanely strong bodies, Beasts without a real body and beasts that suck out your very life force/nen.

After I finished skimming through the books I heard someone's footsteps outside the door, not knowing how to react I decided to hide behind the front door. The moment the man closed the door behind him I launched a surprise attack on him. Reaching my hands out in front of me I gripped his neck with both my forearms and biceps, holding him in a chokehold. I flexed my whole body and the only sound that was heard was the snapp of my opponents neck. Looking at his body the man had Dark skin as well as a yellow tanktop and black pants with black shoes. i'm not gonna lie, he was kind of nicely dressed.

"Snapp" "du-dung"

Hearing the sound of the intruder fall to the ground lifeless I then picked him up and dragged him over to the only window available in the library and dropped him out of it. It took about 7 seconds before I heard his body splatter against the stone floor outside the castle. I decided that I should probably stay here till the end of the Battle royale If i'm playing it safe.

So as the time went by, after half a day inside that library the monkey confirmed the remaining 20 participants and we all walked out of the castle and met up with the examiners.

"so you're still alive heh"

Feeling that it was directed at me I turned around to notice…
