Chapter Five

The alarm went off and Jax jumped out of bed. Jax jumped on Thalia’s bed and said “wake up wake up!”

Thalia said “why?”

“It’s our first day of kanay training.”

Thalia sat up against the bed post and said “why are you so happy about it, its school.”

“I want to learn, is that weird?”

“No not at all.”

“You’re lying.”

“Well it may be sort of kind of-

“THALIA!”

“Ok fine it’s weird.”

Jax said “that’s so mean and get dressed or we’re going to be late.”

“I think I’ll go back to sleep.”

“Joshua’s our teacher.” Thalia super speeded out of bed and got dressed. Jax said “I knew that would get you up.”

Thalia said “I’m ready to go.”

“How did you do that?”

“I just focused on running faster.” Jax used his super speed and got dressed.

Jax said “I did it too.”

Thalia said “great job now can we go and are we using magic to get there?”

“I think it’s called tellatransporting and if you can get us there, then sure.”

“Do you know what the schools called?”

“I think it’s called the academy.”

Thalia grabbed Jax’s arm and said “before I join the army take us to the academy.” They disappeared and reappeared outside the academy. Thalia and Jax walked inside and to their classroom. They sat down as Joshua stood up.

Joshua said “before you use your power, you must learn more about our species. A kanays greatest strength is loyalty. When we see each other kanay mark, we completely forget about any fight we were having. We forget about our anger and remember that we are loyal to each other. Kanays are the most loyal species in the world.”

Vilandra walked in and said “he sure does talk a lot doesn’t he.”

“Everyone this is Vilandra, she’s one of the six original kanays.”

Vilandra said “well, I’m a hybrid, which is why there are six originals and not five.”

Joshua said “what are you doing here Lonnie?”

“Kivar, Abigail, and I want to train Jax and Thalia ourselves, and Dragon Flame agreed.”

Joshua said “then take them.” Jax and Thalia stood up and followed Vilandra. They walked for a little while in silence.

Thalia said “where are going?”

Vilandra said “to a park.”

Jax said “why?”

“Because we don’t want you to burn down the school” Vilandra said.

Thalia said “we wouldn’t burn down the school.”

Vilandra said “you don’t know that.” Jax had a big smile on his face while Thalia looked annoyed.

Thalia said “how much farther?”

“It’s just up ahead” Vilandra said. When they got there, two men were sitting on a bench.

“Who are they” Thalia said .

“Two other originals” Vilandra said.

They stood up as Jax and Thalia got closer. “I’m Kivar, your grandpa is my brother.”

“So we’re related” Jax said.

Kivar said “yes.”

“I’m Aslan, and I thought I should meet the two of you.”

Jax said “well it was nice to meet you but I thought all three of you were teaching us.”

Vilandra said “no Kivars gonna teach you.”

Thalia said “thank god. I meant to say ok.”

Vilandra said “ok bye then” and waved goodbye to Jax as she walked away. Aslan followed behind her.

Jax watched as she walked away then Thalia hit him on the back of the head. He looked at her and said “what was that for?”

Thalia said “for being a love-struck idiot.”

Jax smiled and ran after Vilandra. He yelled “Vilandra wait.”

Vilandra turned around and said “you can go ahead Aslan I’ll catch up.”

Aslan said “ok” and walked away.

Jax said “do you want to go out with me tonight?”

Vilandra said “Like a date.”

“Yes” Jax said.

Vilandra said “I’d love to, I’ll meet you at your hotel around seven.”

“Perfect” said Jax.

Vilandra walked towards Aslan a few feet away and Jax walked back to Thalia and Kivar.

Kivar said “so you asked her out.”

Jax said “I did” with a big smile on his face.

Thalia said “can we just start practicing.”

Kivar said “sure” and put a glass of water on the bench. He turned around and said “who wants to start.”

Thalia said “I will.”

“Ok” Kivar said.

Thalia walked closer to the bench and said “what am I supposed to do.”

Kivar said “you’re gonna freeze the water.”

Jax said “how is she gonna do that?”

“You’re going to use your hands to freeze it. Place them on the glass and focus on freezing it.”

Thalia put her fingers on the glass and closed her eyes. The glass began to freeze. Thalia took her fingers off and opened her eyes.

She said “I did it.”

Kivar picked up the glass and said “you did better than I thought you would.”

Jax said “what do you mean?”

“I just wanted you to freeze the water not the glass.”

Thalia said “I did freeze the water but I also froze the glass.”

Kivar said “Jax why don’t you try to unfreeze it.”

Jax said “ok” and took the glass from Kivar. Jax took a deep breath as the glass began to unfreeze.

Kivar took the glass back and said “wow you both have a natural talent for this, let’s work on freeze breath and heat breath.”

Thalia said “ok how do we do that?”

Kivar said “wait I haven’t even told you which one you’re doing.”

“Well I figured I’d do ice and he’d do heat” Thalia said.

Kivar said “no this time you’re going to do both” as he pulled two leaves of a tree. He handed the leaves to Jax and Thalia. “You’re going to freeze the leaves then unfreeze them. Think about what you want to do then breathe on them.”

Thalia said “sound easy enough.”

Kivar said “It’s not as easy as it sounds.”

Jax blew on the leaf but nothing happened. Jax said “he’s right it’s not as easy as it sounds.” Thalia closed her eyes took a deep breath and then blew on the leaf. The air she blew out was blue and it froze the leaf.

Jax said “how did you do that?”

Thalia said “I focused on what I wanted and it just happened. You were right Kivar it was hard but I focused on what I wanted and I did it.”

Kivar said “you did it, good job now can you unfreeze it.”

Thalia closed her eyes again and blew on the leaf. This time the air came out red.

Jax said “how come she could do it but I couldn’t?”

“Didn’t Dragon Flame tell you?”

Jax and Thalia looked at each other and said “tell us what?” Kivar said

“Thalia might be better with some of your powers and vice versa.”

Jax said “that seems unfair.”

Kivar said “in a way it is.”

Thalia said it’ll be fine bro” and hugged Jax. She let go of him and said “now let get back to work.”

Kivar said “ok how about you try your fireballs.”

“Ok” Thalia said.

Thalia got it right away but Jax had a harder time. Eventually they mastered most of their skills and went back to the hotel. They watched some movies and took a nap. Then Jax took a shower and got ready for his date. There was a knock on the door. Jax said “Thalia can you get that.” Thalia climbed off the bed, walked to the door, and opened it.

Vilandra said “hi Thalia.”

Thalia said “hi.”

Jax came running to the door and said “hi Lonnie.”

“Hi” Vilandra said.

Thalia said “bye.”

Joshua walked up and said “hey Thalia.”

Thalia said “Come in and you out” as she pulled Joshua in and pushed Jax out of the room. Vilandra and Jax walked away.

Joshua said “so what do you want to do?”

Thalia looked at Joshua and said “we’re following them.”

“What why?”

Thalia said “I don’t trust her.”

“Well you should trust Lonnie. She’s nice”

“Let’s just go or we might lose them.”

Thalia ran out of the door and pulled Joshua behind her. Joshua was barely able to shut the door because she was running so fast. She started walking when they got close to the elevators. Thalia said “hey Jax.”

Jax said “hey where you guys going?”

“Don’t know we’re just gonna walk around” Joshua said. The elevators opened and the four of them stepped in.

Thalia said “so where are you guys going?”

Vilandra said “we’re going to the Moonlight Café.”

“Cool” Joshua said. The elevator doors opened and they all stepped out. They all walked to the main entrance together then Jax and Vilandra walked left. Thalia and Joshua walked to the right. They walked a few feet ahead then turned around.

Thalia said “where did they go?”

Joshua said “calm down we’re know where they’re going.”

Thalia said “do you know where the café is?”

“Yes.” They walked until they got to a park and then Thalia started to run.

Joshua yelled “Thalia watch out.” Thalia ran into a man and a women.

Thalia said “I’m so sorry mom, dad?”

Eva said “Thalia, my beautiful daughter.”

“I’m not your daughter, you abandoned me and Jax. Have you seen him?”

“He just passed us why” Eva said.

Joshua said “she’s following him.”

Percy said “why are you following your brother?”

Thalia said “why I’m following his is none of your business.”

Joshua said “Thalia doesn’t like Vilandra.”

Thalia said “I never said I didn’t like her I said I don’t trust her.”

Eva said “you should trust her.”

Thalia said “we have to go.” Thalia walked away as Joshua followed closely behind.

He said “bye Eva, bye Percy.”

Eva said “bye.”

Thalia and Joshua started walking away when they saw Jax and Vilandra a feet away. They hide behind a bush. Jax and Vilandra walked to their table and sat down. Vilandra said “Jax are you ok?”

Jax said “I’m fine I just feel like Thalia’s nearby.”

Vilandra said “she could be, they said they were gonna walk around.”

Thalia looked over the top of the bush at them then sat back down.

Joshua said “Thalia why are we really here?”

Thalia said “I told you why.”

Joshua said “I don’t think that’s the real reason.”

“It is” Thalia said.

“Fine don’t tell me.”

Thalia said “it’s not just because I don’t trust her, he’s the only family I have.”

“That’s not true you have your parents, your aunts and uncles, your grandparents and Dragon Flame.”

Thalia said “my parents abandoned me, never met my aunts or uncles, I have no idea where Dragon flame is, but your right I have my grandparents.”

Joshua said “You also have your parents, I get that they abandoned you but they were probably scared.”

Thalia said “scared why would they be scared.”

“Dragon Flame lied to them, you went from being a baby to being fifteen, they both lost years of childhood memories, I think you need to give them a chance.”

Thalia said “You have a point, I’ll think about it.”

Joshua said “you’re a stubborn one Talivia Balcoin Hale” then he put his hand over his mouth.

“Balcoin Hale is that our last owe.” Thalia turned over her hands and said “what’s happening to my hands?”

Joshua said “your getting your marks yay.”

Thalia grabbed Joshua’s shirt and said “what marks.”

Joshua said “The mark on your left hand is for the Balcoin coven and the other is for the Hale tribe.”

“Okay, why am I just getting them now?”

“Because it was the first time you heard your last names.” Thalia looked down at her hands as her veins turned black.

Thalia said “is this supposed to be happening?”

Joshua grabbed her hands and said “the moon has reached its apex, you and Jax are changing.”

Thalia said “into what?”

Joshua said “a wolf, you need to tell Jax.” Thalia grabbed Joshua and super speeded them to Jax and Vilandra.

Jax looked at Thalia and said “what’s happening to your face?”

Thalia said “the same thing that’s happening to your face.”

Vilandra stood up and said “what’s happening to them?”

Joshua said “I think they’re turning into wolves.” Right when Jax and Thalia’s eyes turned yellow.

Vilandra said “they’re definitely turning into wolves, you guys have to stop changing.”

Joshua said “I don’t think they can control it.”

Vilandra said “so what do we do?”

Thalia said “get everyone as far away from here as you can” as her fangs began to appear. Jax and Thalia fell to the ground.

Joshua said “we need the originals.”

Vilandra said “we are originals.”

Joshua said “I meant the original werewolves.”

Joshua ran into the restaurant and yelled “Jax and Thalia are turning into wolves run.” Everyone in the restaurant jumped out of their seats and ran out the door. Joshua ran back to Vilandra and said “are they okay?”

Vilandra said “look at their eyes.”Thalia and Jaxs eyes were now a mixture of six different colors.

Joshua said “why are their eyes different?”

Vilandra said “no time for that we need to run” and grabbed Joshua’s hand. They ran to the street.

Vilandra said “call the radio tower they need to warn everyone and I’ll call lycanthria.”

Joshua said “okay” and started to run again.

Back at the restaurant Jax and Thalia’s bones started to break. Thalia said “Dragon Flame said we wouldn’t be forced to change.”

Jax said “well she was wrong, we need learned how to control it.”

Thalia said “why do we have to break every bone in our body just to change?”

Jax said “Don’t know but I think the change is speeding up.”

Thalia said “what are we gonna do when we turn?”

Jax said “I don’t know.”

“Will we hurt someone?”

“I don’t know.”

“Do you know anything?”

“I know that we’re gonna stick together.”

Thalia said “how could you possibly know that?”

“Because you’re my sister we stick together no matter.” In that moment the change completed and they became wolves. Jax and Thalia started walking in a circle, then sat down and howled. They ran out of the restaurant and headed for town square. People were piling into any and every building they could as a space ship landed in the middle of town square.

Joshua said “that must be the originals, they couldn’t have come at a better time.”

“You couldn’t be more right”Vilandra said, “I wonder who they brought.”

“We’re about to find out.” A bright light shined as the doors to the ship opened and six figures walked out. They walked to the original as the doors began to close.

“Hi I’m Vilandra.”

“I’m Klaus, that’s Kol, Rebecca, Masayo, Freya, and Elijah.”

Joshua said “hi I’m.”

Freya put her hand over Joshua’s mouth and said “sorry no time for chit chat.”

Masayo said “she’s right, where are they?” Thalia growled at Vilandra.

Vilandra said “please tell me that was one of you.”

Klaus yelled “move” and pushed Vilandra away as Thalia jumped on him.

He fell to the ground and said “get her off of me.” They pushed Thalia off of him and Jax started to growl at them. Thalia joined in as Kol, Freya, Masayo and Rebecca began to transform. They quickly changed it was almost instantaneous. They ran at Jax and Thalia then surrounded them. Thalia starts growling at Klaus and was ready to attack. Klaus and Elijah put their hand out and slowly got on one knee. They put their hand on the ground, looked down at it then looked back up. Vilandra whispered “their eyes are yellow.”

Joshua whispered “they must be calming down.”

Klaus stood up and yelled “its okay kanays you can come out.”

Jax and Thalia started chasing their tails as a few kanays walked out. Joshua and Vilandra started petting Jax and Thalia. Thalia walked over to Kivar and his wife Allison. Allison pulled out a camera and took a picture of Thalia.

Klaus yelled “Don’t take a picture” but it was already too late. The flash went off and Thalia fell down.

Allison said “what happened?” Before anyone could answer Thalia got back up angrier than ever. She began to attack Allison. Jax looked over and jumped on Thalia.

Klaus yelled “get her inside now.” Everyone ran into a building leaving only Jax and Thalia. They growled at each other ready to fight then collapsed.

Kivar looked out the window and said “what just happened?”

A teen girl said “I incapacitated them, they should be asleep until they change back.”

Klaus said “good job” as he begun to examine Allison’s wounds.

The girl said “how is she?”

Klaus said “her wounds are deep, I can give her some of my blood.”

Kivar said “hell no you’re not giving her hybrid blood.”

Kol said “but Klaus’s blood will heal her.”

Valkar walked in and said “no it won’t.” The girl said “Valkar what are you doing here?”

Valkar said “hello Sofia I had no idea you were here.”

Sofia said “your mother sent me.”

Valkar said “my mother send me as well and Thalia’s blood is the only thing that will heal Allison.”

Kivar said “what why?”

Valkar said “Thalia’s bite stops her natural ability to heal, so does Jax’s, and vampire blood won’t work either.”

Kivar said “then let’s go get her blood” and headed for the door.

Valkar stopped him and said “you can’t take her blood, at least not right now.”

Sofia said “he’s right, we need to wait until she’s human.”

Kivar said “then what do we do until then.”

“We stop the bleeding and give her a blood transfusion so she doesn’t bleed to death” Valkar said.

Kivar said “okay her blood type is AB negative.”

Klaus yelled “does anyone know someone with that blood type?”

Vilandra said “my brother Xan is AB negative.”

Valkar said “I can open a portal to Muerino.”

Vilandra said “I’ll go with you.” Valkar opened a portal and Vilandra stepped through. Valkar followed behind her.

On Muerino Xan was walking to his room when Vilandra and Valkar appeared. Xan said “Vilandra what are you doing here?”

Vilandra said “no time to explain bro we need your blood.”

Xan turned to his wife Cora and said, “I’ll be back as soon as I can.” The three of them walked through a portal and ended up in the were-wolves spacekalderaship on Kalidorn.

Vilandra said “why are we on a ship?”

Valkar walked in front of her and said “because that’s where Allison is, turn around.” Xan and Vilandra turned around. Xan ran over to Allison and they put a needle into his arm. He gave as much blood as he could.
