Man of God

*Uhm~* grunt escaped from a man that lay on the pale-green grass.

He opened his mouth to inhale air greedily and immediately jerked up.

He gazed at the night sky above him as he opened his eyes.

Thousands of stars dangling in the air as if they were guiding him, calling him, gazing back at him.

The light of thousand suns illuminated his vision as he finally had enough capacity to observe his surroundings.

He seemed to be in a field surrounded by plants and ruined-marble buildings.

Blue-glowing dust was circling in the air everywhere, making the scenery gorgeous and mysterious.

Captivated by the beauty of the view, the man did not notice that his breathing was becoming more and more unstable.

Finally, after leaving the trance his legs started shaking.

He clasped his head as pain impacted his mind.

Blood slowly started to drip from his nose.

*Agh~!* Blood vessels began to burst as his head started turning into a dark shade of red.

Seconds passed and he fell on the ground, clutching to the grass, ripping some in the process. However, it did not take long before the pain was extinguished.

Looking at his predicament, he first decided to clean his hands from the dirt and exercise breathing to calm himself down.

*Inhale*

*Exhale*

*Inhale*

*Exhale*

His mind became clear as the oxygen started to assist in the processing of the situation in his brain

The man was smart enough to understand that wasting more time would only grow the possibility of him encountering danger, which he had no desire to face, so he decided to act as fast and efficiently - simultaneously - as he possibly could.

First, he needed to gather food and water, then build a shelter, and afterward gather information about the surroundings to find the way out of this place.

Standing up, he quickly deduced that a river or a sea would be close as the buildings seemed ancient, and usually, ancient man built their houses near the water source.

Following the ruined buildings, not even a quarter of an hour later, he reached a small lake:

Lake was clear as crystal; it reflected the moon above making it extremely grand and majestic.

He fell on his knees and cupped his hand to pick up a handful of water.

However, he did not drink it in fear - what if it was infected? He thought.

"It is safe to drink"

The voice sounded near him which made his brows furrow and he jolted up.

He immediately picked up the branch close to him and pointed it in the direction of the voice.

Looking in that direction he saw an old man wearing a wide-sleeved cloak.

He had a long beard and hair which made him feel tense as they seemed extremely well taken care of, which was impossible considering the fact that they were in the jungle... Unless... There was a civilization not far away.

He didn't speak as he feared to say something that may offend the man; while he may not be the smartest, he understood that man held no desire to harm him, so offending him in the potential enemy territory is not wise.

He lowered the branch but still kept it close in case he was forced to protect himself.

He very carefully and gently approached the old man to not cause him to feel threatened.

"Sir, could you please tell me where I am," he spread his mouth wide and closed his eyes to seem more innocent in the eyes of the old man, but the old man didn't even glance at him.

The gaze of the old man was printed to the horizon, looking at the stars.

"Tell me, isn't this beautiful?" The elderly man finally spoke.

The tone of his was extremely calm, and the voice was majestic, carrying a sense of elegance in it.

The inappropriate question made the young man furrow his eyebrows, but he as fast as he could neutralized his expression and confirmed.

"Yes, this is indeed gorgeous." He understood that the elder deliberately dismissed his question so he did not pursue it.

*Hmmm~*

The elder hummed in response still glued to the stars.

"Sir... Could you tell me why and where I am...?"

He was slowly losing patience, but he still asked it carefully with a slow and friendly tone.

Elder glanced at him finally and said, "You are dead. This place is an afterlife."

The young man ignorantly opened his mouth and blinked several times.

"I apologize, sir, I seem to have misheard, could you please repeat?"

A young man asked politely, completely discarding the words of an elder.

"You have not misheard anything, but I will repeat: This is the afterlife, you are dead."

The young man tilted his head and responded.

"Good joke, sir, you truly are a man of humor."

He leaned forward and chuckled.

"This is no joke."

Elder looked at him in the eyes, completely serious.

The eyes of the young man widened in surprise as the branch fell off his hand.

"B-but that's not possible! I can feel pain, I can drink water! My body is fully organic!"

He refuted, doubt oozing out of his words.

The old man leaned closer to him and flicked.

*Boom*

His head exploded.

His brain spattered everywhere, blood painted grass red, and his spine became visible, but it slowly started to assemble.

Blood that was fused with grass separated, the brain and bone parts started to gather together above his spine, forming his previous head.

*Ahhh~*

*Haaa~*

He stood there in disbelief.

"How?"

He asked only one question, which was met with silence.

"Let's just say... Nothing is impossible."

The old man responded.

"...Now, do you believe me?"

"Who are you?"

The young man looked at him with fear in his eyes.

The pain he experienced moments ago was indescribable; even though it happened in seconds, the feeling of his skull, brain, and veins crushed was so intense that it still gave him chills

"You know who I am... But I suppose, what you think of me is false, though, I would like to be what you perceive me as, sadly, I am not."

The young man didn't say anything in response, he just stood there in shock.

Seeing this, the old man narrowed his eyes.

"Yes, I am what your species call God"

He said with not an ounce of hesitation.

"Which God?" The young man asked.

"Oh, come on... I am Yahweh, you surely know me."

.

.

.

"...It does not ring any bells in my mind..."

The old man breathed deeply and gestured for him to sit.

The young man complied and sat on the stone close by.

An old man joined him and sat beside him, he smiled and said:

"I am God of the Bible."
