6 Forms, 9 Dragons Assault

Katania had a cross look on her face as she abandoned Erik inside the hall. He, however, seemed relieved to see her go.

Katania didn't care, "he'll be begging for my help later when he needs to practice his sword," she growled as she dismissed it from her thoughts.

"And here I was under the impression that I'd seen every beautiful maiden in town."

Katania rounded on a man standing directly beside her, having seemingly materialised from thin air.

"Who are you?" she asked with a poisonous tone as she swept him with a cautious look.

"Who I am is unimportant, It is my great pleasure to make your acquaintance," he answered readily, offering a deep bow.

Katania raked him with an appraising glare, he was a thin, blonde haired man with almost feminine features. Katania had never met such a beautiful man before, the sight of him made her stomach churn in disgust.

"What do you want?" she snarled, still upset that this man had managed to get so close to her undetected.

"Oh my, not the friendly sort are we?" the man smiled, "very well, I shall make an exception. I am Sir Viscillius Khristin Von Praxis," he said bowing once more, "You may call me, V."

Katania flashed him a dangerous look, "I will call you-" she paused, and then offered him a delicate smile, "V?" she said sweetly, "Yes, m'lady?" V looked relieved to receive a positive reception and answered eagerly.

Katania of course had much more devious plans, she realized that someone who could approach her undetected must not have an ordinary identity. This fact was further accentuated by the man's ridiculous name.

"What manner of skill did you use to get so close to me without revealing yourself?!" she gushed, her eyes wide and bubbly.

V's eyes lit up at being recognized and he was all too pleased to brag about his talents, "That is nothing at all, M'lady, just a skill I picked up in my families library."

"Can you tell me how it works?" Katania asked appearing enthused, her soft hands were now entwined with V's and the look that had overcome him told her even if she asked for the location of his father's vault he wouldn't say no.

V nodded emphatically, "S-Shadow, Shadow Walk," he mumbled, "I can walk in any shadow as long as they are present," he admitted quietly as he glanced around at his surroundings.

Katania was enlightened, "Then, can you do me a favor?" she asked in a voice that was so sweet it made her sick, V nodded his head like a broken toy, Katania smiled and pointed at a nearby shadow, "Walk into that shadow and never let me see you again." she said, her voice still sweet, and V continued nodding, staring at the indicated shadow, his head slowed to a stop, and he turned to look at her still smiling face.

"Y-You mean..." Katania nodded, still smiling.

V's face grew dark, "YOU BITCH!" he snarled and he lunged at her.

Katania was unfazed, calmly emanating her aura of a grade 1 Heavenly realm. This energy alone was enough to send him flying backwards from the force of it.

She approached him slowly, wispy tendrils of powerful energy flowing off of her with every step, "Puny fly," she addressed him, "you wish to attack me? Very well, this lady will play with you, come." she snarled and her aura increased again. Power, this was real power! V's face paled with shock.,

Not even his father, No, not even his grandfather wielded such strength! V felt something warm trickle down his leg.

Katania wrinkled her nose, "You dare piss yourself before this great lady?" she shrieked, Raising her hand high as she moved to strike him.

V panicked as he fell on his rear and crawled backwards on the ground trying to retreat from her terrifying presence.

Seeing that he couldn't get away he rose to his knees, and in one abrupt motion, he smacked his head against the stone, "I was wrong! please forgive me!" he bawled, blood trickling into his eyes and merging with a hot stream of tears. He looked exceedingly pitiful. Katania sighed with exasperation and withdrew her aura, "Very well, just this once then." She said easily, "But be warned, If i find that you're using that shadow walk technique to stalk me, or I even suspect you of it, your life is forfeit!" she told him coldly, and she turned her back to him and faced the crowd that had gathered around to watch. At her withering stare, the throng parted as she approached and she made her way out of the encirclement.

In her absence, a huge discussion was sparked.

"What a terrifying woman!"

"Shh! did you want to be next?"

"No one will dare show her any disrespect now!" they discussed heatedly, some of them loud and others quietly debated in hushed tones, unwilling to be targeted.

Katania distanced herself from the colloquy of the crowd seeking to isolate herself.

At times like this her only pleasure lay in her sword, she drew her rapier as she came to a secluded spot some distance from the academy. She instinctively fell into the first form, the movement so practiced it was as fluid as flowing water.

Her rapier felt like an extension of her arm, as if even if she desired to set it down it wouldn't be possible, it was as much a part of her as any of her fingers.

She lunged, her back foot twisting into the ground as she spun like a spinning corkscrew, her long ponytail whipping as it followed her. She propelled herself half a dozen steps forward, her rapier retracted, behind her back the rapier changed from her left hand to her right, she drew her arm back and plunged it forward in quick succession.

She fended off several imaginary blows, parrying a decisive stab, she turned her body sharply, her left hand once again coming into possession of the rapier, held in a reverse grip she stabbed behind her, she pivoted, the weapon smoothly transitioning into a front facing grip, she batted aside imaginary swings, her feet moved furiously in lightning fast footwork as she retreated from imagined enemies, she perceived an attack, she ducked, her rapier twirled with a frenzy, she leaped and kicked out, rising into the air, she came back down to the ground with a roll spinning once more to face her enemies, she growled, "6 forms, 9 Dragons assault!" her hair rose frenetically as if charged by lightning. Powerful waves of energy flew from her body like sharpened blades, dirt kicked up from the ground in huge rich brown chunks. Katania's eyes glowed, and her rapier shot out repeatedly each blow carrying the force of a Dragon's roar, Katania screamed with every vicious blow until with the last she collapsed, panting on the ground to survey the destruction of the field.

I wrote this chapter simply because i saw people reading this old story, mild interest at least earns a mild effort from me.
