HTTYD: A New Night Fury

A new Night Fury has been seen in Berk, Hiccup is interested in finding out her origins, while Toothless wants to see her fully so that he could absorb her beauty. I will credit the artist in the character sheet, art is from Pinterest, and constructed criticism is welcome, but don't bash my head in because writing is my hobby.

Prank 'em

(3rd POV)

*rustle*

A Viking poked his head out of the bush he was hiding in, looking around before stepping into another clearing. The dragon he and his brothers were looking for had lured them into the deeper parts of the forest, separating them one by one. His group was ordered to locate and observe the dragon, luckily they had a description of the dragon. Light blue wings and tails, almost snow-white feet, and beautiful golden markings on the head, body, and tail. Some months back they also discovered one of the dragon's scales, and it was found to be more durable and resistant to dragon breath.

He looked down and saw some dragon paw prints, going the way he was walking in. He walked forward, staying as low and fast as possible with his big body, but when he looked into another clearing and found the dragon his group was looking for, he found himself upside down hanging from a tree.

The dragon slowly looked at him with blatant amusement in its eyes.

(Anaeth POV)

These humans still think they can observe me so easily, I wonder how many I have pranked this week. They seem to be determined to find out more about me, probably because I am not in their dragon Wikipedia book.

Some nights I do a very bold but funny move, sit outside Hiccup's bedroom window, once he even noticed me and we stared at each other for a minute before I flew away. He seems to be interested in knowing how I think.

I once took a dragon down when Berk was attacked, kind of difficult but managed to kill it, I dropped it in front of Stoick's front door when he was coming back from village leader work. He was surprised for a second before looking up at me, it was late evening so many of the Vikings were at their homes. I meanwhile annoyed the village by doing some minor things that wouldn't affect their lives too much but would be funny to watch.

I once adjusted a patch of sheepskin to fall on someone's head when the door is opened, and I got to witness Snotlout freak out when he was blinded by the sheepskin, and when he figured it out he became frustrated and blamed it on Ruffnut and Tuffnut. Funny to watch and eavesdrop on.

Astrid spotted me yesterday, she became really careful at night and tried to get more information from the adults. She did not have much luck with that. But when she asked Hiccup about it he gave a short rundown of what happened a week before and the small observation squads going into the forest and getting lost because of my pranks and tricks. She laughed at the thought of experienced Vikings getting lost in the forest because a dragon, me, was doing pranks.

The sheep became playmates for me, as they figured out that I am not like the dragons that attack every few days, they even let me sleep close to them as I once protected them from a small pack of wolves that I forgot to clean off the island.

Some of the noncombat villagers have also seen glimpses of me, as I am messing with them day to day. Some even asked Stoick about me, and he had no choice but to explain vaguely what I did the previous week and why some Vikings come back to the village late at night. They accepted my presence in the village as a prankster dragon. After Stoick revealed my existence many of the villagers started looking around the village whenever a prank went off.

This increased the difficulty in making the funny. But that also made me adapt to the increased stealth requirement.

Right now I am sitting on a tree branch next to a small shallow lake, this place was my favorite place to be in during the day, as this place is quiet.

"Ah! I finally found you."

I look down, seeing Snotlout watching me lying on the big branch.

"After Stoick told us who was making all the pranks and jokes that has been annoying Berk for the week, and that one time when I was covered in sheepskin, I realized that it was you who put it up." Snotlout then sat down at the edge of the lake and looked at the multitude of fish swimming in the water.

I jumped down and laid down close to him, not entirely next to him but about 2 meters. We both looked out onto the lake for a while before his stomach did a little growl, Snotlout sighed and stood up, looked at me, and said: "You make good company when sitting quietly, thanks."
