Chapter 26: Situations

Once Gwen had left, Severus looked for his room.

After a few moments of wandering through the men's dormitory, he found a room with a metal plaque that had his name written on it; Severus Prince.

Paying no attention to the other two metal plaques, Severus opted to enter the dormitory.

When he entered his dormitory he found two people already inside.

"Oh no, damn it, why did it have to be you, I should have figured Severus Prince was you, how many with the last name Prince can there be" complained a blond-haired young man "Merlin knows I have enough to do with sharing a room with an antisocial to now be with you as well," he said as he pointed to another black-haired young man in the room who just ignored the comment the blond had made.

Severus recognized the two young men in the room, the one who spoke was the arrogant young man he came across while touring the ship with Freyja, while the black-haired, quiet young man was the one he shared a cabin with on the ship.

"Hello Sasaki looks like we'll be sharing a room," Severus said to the black-haired young man who was reading a book, completely ignoring the arrogant young wizard named Ethan who was talking to him.

"Yes it seems" replied Hayato Sasaki having stopped looking for a few seconds at his book to look at Severus and answer him, only to then turn his attention back to the book.

'Well, that's progress, he seems to at least tolerate me, he seems to ignore Ethan completely already' Severus said to himself inwardly.

"Are you planning on ignoring me now too, how mature of you Prince" Ethan scoffed.

"Oh sorry, I forgot you were there... Ethan wasn't it?"

"You..." Ethan looked annoyed and was about to start saying something but Severus interrupted him.

"Look, it was a long trip and I just finished touring the facilities, the only thing I want to do right now is getting some sleep and you guys should do the same, it's already late and tomorrow is our first day of class in the program."

"Tch" Ethan grumbled but said nothing more and went to his own bed.

The three of them went to sleep without discussing anything else for that night.

A young witch named Freyja had been imagining what the Salem Witch Institute would be like.

Freyja was very happy to have her first wizard friend.

His name was Severus, and it was just a coincidence that she bumped into him because she was distracted by the magical harbor in Boston.

Luckily he turned out to be very kind and patient.

After they bumped into each other they spent the rest of the time together as she asked him many questions and he answered patiently.

He was smart and knew so many things that she was instigated by.

Freyja's father never let her know much about the magical world and the Muggle world even less, she couldn't wait to get to know the whole world.

She knew that orthodox wizards hate or dislike half-humans like her, so she always worried that others would hate her for being a half-elf witch.

Her father made her promise not to reveal and keep her elven heritage hidden, for this she had to modify through potions her pointed ears so that they did not look like those of an elf, it was the only notable feature she had from her elven mother, besides her magic.

But when Severus and she began to get into confidence and talk about more things, she felt safe by his side and asked him many questions to see what he thought about half-human wizards and witches, to which he at first reacted frightened to her surprise, but then told her that he had had bad experiences with some half-humans, but that in general, he believed that there were no major differences to separate them from society, that they deserved the same rights as any wizard.

Freyja concluded that Severus didn't seem to hate demi-humans, which reassured and excited her.

'It seems that not all wizards hate demi-humans as my father said' Freyja thought at that moment a little happier.

After Freyja spent half of the trip together with Severus, he had to go back to his cabin to eat.

And she had no choice but to part from him reluctantly.

Freyja thought about going back to her cabin just as Severus did, but it didn't seem to please her roommates much, so she preferred to continue touring the ship on her own.

After a while, Freyja got bored of touring the ship alone, it wasn't the same as doing it with a company, so she went to get something to eat and then look for Severus and continue the tour with him.

But to her disappointment, when she finished eating and went to look for Severus in his cabin, he had already left.

Disappointed, Freyja went into her cabin, greeted her roommates, who paid little attention to her, lay down on her bed, and rested for the rest of the trip.

A few hours later the ship had arrived in Salem.

Freyja's beautiful green eyes blinked sleepily.

'This... are we there yet?' wondered Freyja as she saw that her companions had apparently already taken all their things from the cabin.

Rushing out of the cabin, Freyja found only the staff inside the ship, indicating that all the students had already gotten off.

Freyja realized that she had overslept so she hurriedly exited the ship and asked for directions.

Luckily, it wasn't the first time it had happened that someone had overslept, and the magical institute already had a person ready to give directions to these people.

"You fell asleep didn't you?" an older witch caught her attention.

Freyja blushed.

"Very well, follow me, I'll come with you and guide you to the women's dormitories." the woman looked helpless and apparently already knew that Freyja was to take the SCoP program.

This was because most of the witches within the institute knew each other at least by sight.

Freyja just nodded gratefully and embarrassed.

After the older witch dropped her off at the women's dorms and explained a bit about the workings of the institute, she left leaving Freyja to find her room on her own.

She went through a few rooms until she finally found one in which there were only two plates.

"Freyja Jinlǜ" read Freyja the first plaque and then out of curiosity looked at what her roommate's name was for the rest of the program.

"Gwen Stacy" read Freyja the second metal plaque and wished the two could get along as the two would be sharing a room for the entire course of the program.

When Freyja entered her room she was surprised to find neither her roommate nor her things, the room was as good as new.

'Maybe she overslept too?' thought Freyja because she was the last one to leave the ship because she overslept and her roommate was supposed to have already arrived before she did leave along with the other students.

Without thinking much more about it, Freyja decided to unpack and arrange her things in the room.

After a while, the door to Freyja's room finally opened revealing a beautiful young woman with blonde hair and green eyes just like her, only the young woman's eyes were so light that you couldn't make out the green color so much, they seemed almost transparent.

The two stood looking at each other for a few seconds in silence until Freyja broke the silence by greeting the young woman she assumed was her roommate.

"Hello, you see...you must be Gwen Stacy, I'm Freyja Jinlǜ, your roommate, I well...this...I already chose a bed and arranged some things, but if you want we can change whatever you like and..." Freyja nervously began to say many things quickly without pausing and bombarded with information to the young woman she had just found out.

Gwen's eyes were watching Freyja closely as she spoke.

When Freyja finally stopped talking Gwen decided to answer.

"Well then, hello Freyja, it looks like I don't need to introduce myself, don't be so nervous, you can relax now, I understand you have a lot of ideas and we can talk about them a few at a time, but how about we get to know each other a little first, what do you think?" said Gwen amused at the nervous behavior of her apparent new companion.

Gwen was still angry with her mother for forcing her to do the program without her consent, but after talking to Severus, she managed to clear her head a bit, and now it seems she also has a roommate with quite a lot of energy but very nice at first glance.

Gwen didn't have many friends, in fact, she didn't have any friends, but she got along well with several people, this is because she always focused a lot on her studies and left aside going out with friends or things like that, already since she was a child she was like that, being smarter than the other kids she was a bit left out and that's why she always preferred to do things on her own.

"Yes yes, I'd like that" Freyja said nodding and smiling happily.

The two spent some time talking and Gwen took quite a liking to Freyja.

Unlike the other students, Gwen realized that Freyja was very innocent, pure, and kind, which made her feel that she had to protect her from the rest of the students at the institute who would seek to pick on her.

They both continued to talk until they fell asleep.

It was Hermione's first day since time traveling without Severus' company.

After he left for the program in Salem, he left her in charge of reviewing and sending him a summary of the current total value of the Prince's finances and actions.

In fact, Hermione had offered to do so.

After spending a week together with Severus, the two were getting along surprisingly well, he had treated her as if she was part of his family, well she had told him they were and now she was even listed as such in the Prince family tree.

But Hermione knew that Severus hadn't quite bought what she said, so she was sure he didn't consider her a real cousin yet.

But for that very reason, she was surprised by his very kind attitude, he was nothing like the Severus she knew or had seen in her teenage years.

'Only with Lily Evans was he so kind when he was young' Hermione thought as she recalled memories of the adult Severus, when he was with Lily Evans.

'Mmmm from what I could find out, it all happened as in Severus' memories, he by now had already called Lily mudblood and already spent a year trying to get her to forgive him to no avail, maybe it seems to come at the right time when he decided to give up after seeing James and Lily together, but luckily he hadn't decided to formally join the morphs yet, it's a relief that he will get there in time' Hermione thought.

Very well, what should I start with then, the papers to take the exams at the Ministry to enter Hogwarts are ready, but Severus asked me to wait a few weeks for him to settle everything related to the Princes before doing the paperwork because he doesn't want to draw too much attention to himself until he has organized all the Prince family matters and that's why I offered to help him, It was the least I could do after everything he did for me' Hermione remembered how Severus offered her his home, money and, above all, help at night with her little nightmare problem.

After some thought, Hermione decided to dedicate her day to seeing the financial state of the Prince, to give Severus a surprise tomorrow.

Once it got dark, Hermione had finished the summary she was going to send to Severus.

She took a letter and put the summary in it, then handed it to the owl they had both decided to buy at the Owl Emporium to communicate.

After the owl left to deliver the letter, Hermione tiredly decided to lie down to sleep.

Moments later that night Hermione suddenly woke up sweating and completely exhausted.

She had had another nightmare.

When she woke up her chest hurt, her head ached and her body felt numb, her heart was racing and her breathing was short.

Hermione quickly took the potion that Severus had given her to calm down in case of emergency.

Luckily the potion took effect immediately and she felt her body relax quickly.

She cursed herself for being so stubborn and not listening to Severus, he had told her to take the nightmare-free sleeping potion he had made for her every night before she went to sleep for these days when he was away.

Hermione foolishly believed that in the last few days with Severus' company at night she had been able to sleep well without taking anything, alone it would be the same, but she was wrong and now she suffers the consequences.

The nightmares she had were no joke, as Severus told her, they affected her not only mentally but also physically, she could have a heart attack if she was not careful.

After that she went back to sleep calmer but aware that now she had to be more careful every night before going to sleep and not to trust herself, she was lucky that this time she managed to wake up from the nightmare in time on her own before she had needed Severus' help.
