62 Ch.62 Christmas is Disappointing

Sorry guys it took a few days to write again. I was busy with college and I just didn't want to write it, for a few days. The words just wouldn't come out. I understand that all of you are bored of this arc. But this was supposed to be the last chapter of this arc any way. But then some of you said, that i didn't know what i was doing and that i was creating plot holes or something which I didn't get. So all of it kinda bummed me out so I decided to take a little break from it. I understand that the chapter is small but I needed a quick out of it other wise the slump would over take me. So, sorry for that as well.

Today was X-mas, this particular day didn't hold much of a significance for me to be honest. Even the guy before me wasn't all that much stoked about this day. I mean yeah you would get extra food and the toys that were donated to the church, but I wouldn't get those stuff. That fatty would steal it from me so suffice to say I wasn't a big fan of the holiday.

Which is kinda fake to begin with. Christmas was about peace on earth, getting along with everyone, celebrating the festival with the people you love. But now it's just about buying shit. So for me this day was much like any other day except with more food and lazing around. So that's what I planned on doing today, I slept in which is hard to do when you are hardwired to wake up early.

I was lazing around in my bed when Astoria blasted through the door and behind her was Daphne and like a little gremlin Astoria ran and jumped on the bed and said, "Come on, get up it's Christmas!"

I groaned in discomfort, god she is getting heavy, I covered my face and spoke through the blanket "Go away, I want to sleep…"

She pulled the blanket and said, "NO! It's Christmas! We have present to open!"

I groaned and said, "Then go and open 'em I just want to sleep a little more."

She got up and started to jump up and down and said, "NO!" I grumbled and Daphne chuckled standing by my head. I groaned and reluctantly got up and said, "Fine! Just stop." I got up and put on a t-shirt and a jacket and was ready to go. I looked at Astoria and she had her arms reached out and I grumbled , "Fine." I carried and we got out of the room.

We reached downstairs in the living room and I saw a big tree decorated with lights and ornaments. The grown ups and Lizz were already downstairs. Florian saw us and said, "Hey, he is here!"

I put Astoria down and looked at the tree and said, "You guys went all out huh?"

Bella chuckled and looked at her husband and Florian looked at me and said, "Well, we have very special people celebrating the holidays with us… I'm not a barbarian."

To be honest this might be the biggest tree I had ever seen it might be comparable to the christmas tree that they put up in hogwarts. I then looked at the lot and asked, "So what now?"

Bella put her cup down and said, "Well, we usually spend our day playing chess and cards but Daphne suggested some Christmas movies that we could watch… she said, it's a muggle tradition of sorts."

I shrugged my shoulders and sat down but before we could start, watching movies or do anything else. Florian stopped us and said, "Not before everyone opens their Christmas gift!"

He ran to the other room and I looked at Bella and Daphne said, "Dad, really likes Christmas… sorry."

He came into the room with boxes of gift all neatly wrapped. He then started handing out gifts to everyone and by everyone I mean everyone, even Steven got one. But not me, he then looked at me and wore sad expression and said, "I'm sorry boy, I guess forgot about you."

He patted my shoulders but then suddenly blurted and laughed, "Look at him! Just Look!" he turned to Bella and then said, "he really thought I forgot about him… sweet Merlin." 

Bella looked a little embarrassed and said, "Honey, I think he knew…" He looked at me and I pursed my lips, I mean come on. "Hmph, fine… your's outside."

I tried to get up and dart to my gift but I was stopped and pulled down by Lizz and said, "Wait a minute, before you go… I want to give you something."

I sat down again and she pulled a long ass box from her purse and gave it to me. I looked at her and I didn't know what to say, I mean it must be something expensive. She excitedly said, "Come on open it." I followed through her wishes and opened the gift and it was a broom. I looked at her and she happily said, "It's a fire bolt!"

I looked at her confused and she said, "It's created by Rudolph Spudmore, this is one of his best work so far. He is about to put it into production next year."

I looked at it and did look pretty cool. I looked at her and said, "Wow, I don't know what to say? Ah, thank you, Lizz."

She nodded and smiled and then Daphne said, "Okay, my turn!" I really wanted to see what my gift was… I was really hoping that I got a bike. But the broom is not that bad, well actually it's pretty sweet to be honest.

She handed me a rectangular gift. She looked very confident with her gift and I opened it and it was a sports Walkman. I looked at her and Lizz asked, "what's that?"

I looked at her and said, "It's a Walkman." She looked confused and I said, "You know the Discman right?" She nodded and I elaborated, "Well, if you have noticed sometimes that guy would skip some music if it moves a little or the ride is bumpy? Not with this guy! I can strap this guy to my arm and work out while I listen to music."

She looked at me humming Oh for a while before saying, "So… thought full of her."

I looked at Bella and said, "Well, I was going to give these to you guys latter but, I think it's a good time to do it… so here you go guys!" I opened my bag and gave everyone their gift which was exactly the same gift A Walkman but not any Walkman it was the best Walkman Sony WM-D6C.

They all opened it and kinda looked okay, but that was mostly just the ladies and I said, "Fine! You can have these ones." I traded their WM-D6C for WM-2's. Bella saw the other one and said, "Oh these are much better looking… than those."

Lizz hummed and nodded in agreement with her even Astoria changed hers but Daphne didn't. 

I looked at her and asked, "You sure I have another one?"

She kept looking at her and clutched it and nodded, "Yeah, you know it's not that bad. I like it. Kinda looks like Darth Vader"

I hummed and smiled, "Okay, for those of you who didn't swap their Walkman's here is the plus point of this clunky bastard." Florian looked at me and I said, "Sorry, the plus point is, you can record any song… from the radio, a person or even from your records."

They all looked at me and very very happy, although the same can't be said about Lizz or Astoria. Bella was still okay with it and I said, "Wait, I'm not finished." I took out cassettes and gave it to them and said, "This is my advance copy of the album that is going to come out this summer. It has all the 10 originals along with those that didn't make the cut."

Lizz eyes shined brightly and asked, "Even Dusk till dawn?" Florian looked at me and said, "Don't worry I didn't put that one in Astoria's." I then got up and said, "Now I would like to see what Florian has got me." Bella interjected, "I helped convincing him."

I pumped my hand in the air and said, "Yes, I knew it!" I ran out looking for it. Other's followed behind me.

Steven was confused and looked for an explanation and Daphne said in a hushed tone, "He thinks he's getting a motorcycle."

I opened the gate to the backyard and the second I laid my eyes upon her. I was just frozen in place. It was as though I was a looney toons character all the joy had just been sucked out of me in an instant. Florian patted my back and sighed, "Your Welcome buddy."

In front of me was a teal colour Vespa. I turned around and Steven burst out into laughter along with Lizz, Daphne was barely holding on and Astoria said, "Why are you crying?"

Unbeknownst to me I had shed a single tear and Florian walked closer and hugged me and said, "I know, I'm amazing."

Bella just chuckled and just mouthed, "I'm sorry." Daphne couldn't hold it in any longer.
