Ch.14 I'mma bird

A few days have passed since my meeting with Voldy my biological father? I don't know if I can call it that, but, that's what I am going with. A few things happened in these few days, I have made a friend I suppose, his name is Theodore, but I call him Ted, which he is not a fan of, secondly Victoria have gathered quite the following in our house, it's mostly girls and I do see some boys as well.

But Victoria doesn't have a care for them, since they kinda hate me. I have mostly been hanging out with Ted during classes and lunch, and he is quite a guy, he doesn't seem to care about me being a muggle. He has quite the knowledge when it comes to potions and a very heavy interest in alchemy. He has been taking private classes, since he was a child, like everyone in our house.

But right now I was in a quest to find something. What, you might ask? It's the Room of Requirements. I was sneaking out of the common room very early at 4:00 am I believe, why? Cause even though I know where it is located, going to that location is also very tough since first years can't go to third floor and even when we have our astronomy class we are usually in a group being escorted there.

So I had to move very carefully if I wanted to get to the room. After some time I reached the seventh floor. I walked to the left corridor and I found the tapestry opposite to it was a blank wall. Now all I needed to do was think of what I want and walk past this room three times and the gate should appear.

I took a deep breath and thought about a room with books, that's what I wanted. I kept thinking about it and I walked past the tapestry three times thinking about that and after three times. I heard the bricks move and I saw a huge door appear.

I was excited and happy that I get to use this room. It was a freakishly good room with so much versatility. I opened the door and I saw a large room with bookshelves upon bookshelves and a large table with comfortable chairs to sit. I walked into the room and I started going through the books and most of them were leather-bound with no title on them.

I think that this was something that Rowena wrote or something along the lines like that, because the books seemed something completely archaic in language and in magic.

I took some books that I could understand, I started to read them. After what felt like hours or something. I checked my watch, and it was time for breakfast. I quickly got out up from my desk and put the books where I found them, and walked out the room.

I somehow managed to find my way back to the great hall without being seen by anyone. I walked inside the great hall and I saw that not many people were there. I walked to the Slytherin table and picked up and plate and started to have some breakfast. I took some eggs, bacon, beans, sausage and an apple.

As I was eating, I saw Victoria and others coming to the great hall. Ted sat next to me and quietly started eating, Victoria sat next to me and Daphne and Tracey sat across us. Victoria asked, "When did you wake up?"

I took a bite of the sausage and said, "I don't know like 4:30~5:00 or something."

She sighed and said, "Still don't understand how you wake up that early."

I just shrugged my shoulders, and we started eating, and Ted asked, "So excited for today's lesson?"

I nodded and said, "Absolutely, but it would be even more awesome if we could just fly without needing a broom." I knew that it was possible, but can't just say it doesn't go well with the new to the wizarding world persona.

As we were eating and chatting, I realized a lot of people had their eyes on me. I ignored them, and I just minded myself. As we were about to leave, owls came with letters. There was one for me as well. It was from the matron. I have been writing to her. I wrote mostly about how I have made some friends and been having fun learning. We all put our letters or parcels away, and we walked out of the great hall.

We were standing out in the open field with brooms on our right. Today was our first practical flying lesson. Harry and Ron even showed up ahead of time somehow. My mom was a quidditch player and a captain at that, so I do think I might have some talent on the broom. We were standing in two rows facing each other. Ted was standing by my side.

Prof. Hooch came and the lesson began. She smiled and said, "Welcome to your first flying lesson, well what are you all waiting for?"

She walked up and down between the row and said, "Everyone stepped up to the left side of your broomstick come on now, place your right hand over the broom and say 'up'".

Everyone followed her instruction. I said, "Up!" and the broom came right up. Ted was surprised, and he said, "Up!" His broom didn't come up right away, it came after a few tries, and he groaned and said, "You're good at this as well?"

I chuckled and shrugged my shoulders. Victoria and Harry's got their brooms in their hand on the first try, followed by Draco, and Ron got smacked on the nose with his broom.

After everyone had their brooms in their hand. Prof. Hooch said, "Now once you got a hold of your broom I want you to mount it. And grip it tight. You don't want to be sliding off the end. When I blow my whistle, I want each of you to kick off from the ground hard."

She said after a brief pause, "Keep your brooms steady, hover for a moment, then lean forward slightly and touch back down. Now, on my whistle:- One, two, three".

She blew the whistle and Neville started to lift from the ground, and it didn't look like he had any control whatsoever, and he sporadically went up and down and prof. Tried to stop him but couldn't. We followed Neville, and he was now stuck in the statue by his robes, and we all heard the dreadful ripping sound.

And I don't know why he started to wriggle we all shouted "Stay still." and he stopped, but suddenly he fell to the ground and groaned in pain.

She then walked up to Neville to check up on him, she touched his hand and said, "That's a broken wrist." She turned around and said, "Everyone to keep their feet firmly on the ground while I take Mr. Longbottom to the Hospital wing, understand?" She got up and took Neville with him.

Draco picked up the remembrall and said, "Did you look at him, if he had given this a squeeze he might have remembered to fall on his fat ass?"

Harry stepped up and said "Give it back Malfoy"

Draco turned around and said, "I don't think so Pottah~"

I sighed and said, "Give it to him, so he can give it back to Neville."

He snapped back at me and said, "Stay out of it, you Mudblood."

I exhaled and said "You have to think of something better to insult me with I have been hearing that one for one week, don't tell me you can't do any better than Mudblood or Muggle? Maybe it's because you can't, because if you do, the last two remaining brain cells of yours might die?~"

Slytherin looked at me and they were pissed. Daphne had no expression, Victoria, Olivia and Ted were enjoying it and Gryffindor students were laughing as well.

Draco turned red and said, "Don't mess with me, you orphan."

Many people gasped Victoria was angry and Gryffindor was like 'this is awkward'

I sighed and said, "Now you are just stating facts it's like me saying you are daddy's little princess or Crabbe and Goyle having less IQ than a Rock or Pansy… no I am not making fun of her."

Everyone was now laughing, even the Slytherin because most of them didn't liked Draco. He bossed people around and was generally a brat.

Draco tried to go with his gang, but I said "I am going to need that Rememberall."

He threw the remembrall in the opposite direction at the wall, but I stopped it from being destroyed I stopped the ball with magic and floated it towards me and said: "Thank you, Peaches." people were impressed.

I turned and gave the remembrall to Hermione. She took it and said "Thank you" she had a guilty expression on her face.

I looked at her and said, "Thank you, come on… Yeah, we kind of stopped hanging out, but that doesn't mean we are not friends."

She nodded and said, "Sorry, I didn't know how to interact with you."

I smiled and said, "It's okay, nothing to worry about."

Harry looked at me like he wanted to thank me, but also wanted to punch me. After giving the remembrall. We all then moved out of the grounds, and I was then summoned to Snape's office. I kind of knew this was going to happen.

I was in front of his office and I knocked the door opened, he was writing some papers.

"I have gotten a complaint about you, Mr. Beeston... from Draco Malfoy."

He then stopped writing and looked at me and asked, "What happened?"

I said, "Well, Neville got injured and..."

He stopped me and said, "Get to the point."

I shrugged my shoulders and said, "Draco tried to insinuate a fight between Gryffindor and Slytherin, so I stopped him from escalating the situation further… that's all."

He hummed and went back to writing and asked, "Is that all… because he accused you of assaulting him with magic."

I said with a straight face, "I didn't."

He didn't look up and hummed and said, "If that is the case, then you are free to go."

I nodded and got up from my seat and was about to leave I heard "You have very good magic control, Mr Beeston. Silent casting a charm is not an easy feat. I would like to suggest that you try to keep a low profile, most wizards don't like our kind."

I turned around and smiled, "Thank you, sir, for the advice and the praise." I walked out of his office and sighed in relief. Could have been worse. I thought to myself.

I also joined Victoria in the library to do my homework and found that she and Hermione were sort of friends now. It's not that surprising, but still. I walked up to the table and sat down with them and did my homework. After it was done I left to spend some more time in ROR and studied there till it was dinner time.

After the incident of the flying lesson, most of the Slytherin wasn't really fond of me, they still didn't like me, but they looked at me differently now. It wasn't just all hate, there was some deformed kind of respect as well…
