Chapter 12: The wedding

The wedding

I look at her and she seems lost for words and I also see a bit of sadness in her eyes. "Alright then it's settled, you two are getting married tonight."

"But uncle he is still engaged to Celia." I hear her say this, wow she is not rejecting the marriage proposed by dad. I feel my heart skip a beat and a special warmth creeping in. This is getting to be one of my happiest day ever but I do not want to show it on my face.

"Lilly, I can't possibly go on marrying her after what she did to me and I think dad is right we need to give our baby a stable home." I said that with a frown on my face making it seem like I am in a difficult position and it worked.

"How can we have a wedding in few hours is it not too hasty?" She asked looking at my father while my mom pats her hand to comfort her. "Don't worry dear it will be done."

"Mmm, uncle, we can't make this marriage known as yet. Mark and I came here to hide out while dealing with those two." "Don't worry it will only be a family gathering. "Hey Mathew, come with your family for dinner and bring your marriage registration book with you.

Yes Mark is getting married. No no no it's not that one it's Lilly, Sylvia and John's kid. Yes, Yes, Marks found her and brought her home. Okay we'll see you soon." Well we can all guess that he just spoke to his kid brother who is a reverend.

Lydia's POV

Here I am sitting on Mark's bed and replaying what happened during lunch. Everything about my wedding is arranged just like that.

We also invited my foster parents and they will be here in an hour. Their plane will be landing soon. I told them everything over the phone and they seem happy that I divorced George.

I still can not believe that Grandma is still alive. She was so happy when she came back and met me.

She cried the whole time and had to be given some medication in order to calm her down. And Ron is all grown up and looks exactly like dad, he cried like a baby when he threw himself to me.

We hugged and cried for quite a while.

"knock knock" "Come in" I said. Aunt Lu comes in with a three ladies in uniform carrying kits with them. "Dear, they are here to do your makeup and hair."

She said while smiling at me. "Your dress will be here in an hour and your parent's plane has landed so they will be here soon."

"Thank you aunt Lu." "It's my pleasure dear." She kissed me on the cheek then went out of the room. Luckily I just had a comforting bath so let the ladies do their magic. After a while they are done and I look amazing.

They used light makeup and did my hair beautifully so.

Soon after the ladies left someone brought in my dress and it looks exquisite. While looking at the dress I hear someone exclaim besides me. I look up and see my foster mother next to me and gives me a very warm hug.

"I am so happy this time. Mike picked us up from the airport and I must say you did well this time dear. This one is a keeper and I am glad you found out about George before you had kids with him." I want to cry but do not want to ruin my make up so I suppress it.

"Mom I'm glad you made me sign those papers before. I was really stupid that time, they both used me mom and don't worry I am about to play with them more." She looks at me puzzled "What do you mean 'both'?"

"Jane and George mom, they are a couple and even have a child together and I was too foolish to even see that." She is stunned by what just told her. "Good riddance." She said.

I look at her and both burst out in laughter. Yes 'good riddance' and I cannot wait for Jane to see me pregnant with her fiancé's child aka my husband. Mom helped me with my dress and soon its time.

We both walk down stairs and she lead to the door that leads to the back garden and then disappears.

Soon my foster dad and Ron come to take me out. They both decided to walk me down the aisle and I am glad that both of them did. I only signed at the home affairs in my first marriage and my family was not part of it.

The garden is decorated in white with a touch of yellow. I love this arrangement. There is no distinction of bride's side and groom's side. Everyone is sitting together just like a big family. Mom's twins look soo adorable as a flower girl and ring bearer.

Nelly is my bride's maid and Jay is the best man. I see Mark up front with a foolish grin on his face, he actually looks like he is very happy to marry me. I feel a bit puzzled as I never felt any vibes like those from him before.

Or maybe I was to concerned about what was happening for me to notice.

Dad and Ron kiss me on the chick each and hand me to Mark. The reverend started with the ceremony. We both exchange rings and it's time to kiss.

My heart is racing as I have never thought that my fantasy of kissing Mark's lips will come so soon. He leans towards me and I close my eyes and I am positive to say that my cheeks are having an extra shade of red by now.

"Breathe Lilly." I hear Mark whisper and kisses me deeply as soon as he says that.

My mind is blown, I mean George and I often kissed but not like this. I really never had a kiss like this and I believe that I am totally hooked on it. He stops kissing me and gulp for air.

Everyone is cheering for us and I look at him dazed. He looks so charming with the sun set behind him like an immortal being out of a fairy tale book.
