How many times does a heart break?

How much pain can one take?

How many rejections can one swallow?

How can hope be turned to sorrow?

To love someone loved by others is normal,

But to expect love from anyone is wrong.

For love can be spread, and multiplied and given,

But love can never be asked, even if you beg.

Love makes us go on, completes us, sustains us,

But love also breaks us, devours us, destroys us.

How can love be so cruel to one that loves?

Love is cruel only to one that hopes.

How many times can a heart break?

From the same love, what risks are you willing to take?

How many times can a heart heal?

How come mine just seems broken still.
