The cure

Not having progress in the fifth month is very frustrating, I fear that I will collapse at any moment due to impotence.

But there is no time for that, not now.

I kept trying everything over and over again, in all the different ways that could be tried and even in all the ways that I could think of.

And in the sixth month, I finally managed to create a cure.

The secret of all this is that human beings affected by the virus are no longer human beings, and must be treated like plants.

This is why I was able to move forward, this is how I was able to create the vaccine in such a short time and now is the reason why I was able to create the cure.

I did two doses, left one at the store along with a note, and took the other with me while I searched for the sergeant.

She visited me a few days ago and told me to look for her at the camp entrance if I needed her.

I ran to the entrance with the little physical strength I have and looked everywhere for the sergeant.

After a few minutes I could see her standing guard at one of the main entrances.

"Sergeant!" I shouted and then stopped in front of her and took a breath.

The sergeant startled a little, then looked at me in confusion.

"Engineer?, you were able to get out of the store, don't you tell me that-?" Emma said and then fell silent.

"Sergeant tell me where Halley is, I managed to create a cure" I said anxiously.

"S-she's in one of the research rooms, outside the camp," Emma said in shock.

"Thanks sergeant" I said to then run over there.

"There is a dose of the cure in my store along with a note!" I said as I ran away.

I ran to the outskirts of the camp and searched all the research rooms outside the camp.

And after several attempts I found Halley, behind a glass where she also takes the light of the moon and regulates her temperature.

I opened the door and approached her slowly.

Like the A,B she has a mushroom covering her head and she has almost no traits of being Halley other than her green dress.

I found a needle and injected Halley with the cure.

I've already tried it several times, but I'm still a little scared.

Halley never moved, but on injecting the vaccine she passed out for a moment.

This is normal, but it still makes me very nervous.

After a few minutes the cure took effect, and the fungus on Halley's body began to fall off and dry.

I could see Halley's face again, although now she has no hair.

I waited for a few minutes, anxious for her to wake up.

Just when I was about to panic, Halley opened her pretty green eyes.

Tears started to fall from my eyes when I saw that she was okay.

Halley seemed a bit confused at first, but then she remembered everything.

"Good morning Mr. Ken" Halley said in a sleepy tone.

"Good morning Halley, it's time to rise and shine" I said and then hugged her tightly.

"Mr. Ken, are you crying?" Halley said in surprise.

"No, it's just that I missed you so much daughter" I said with a smile.

"I missed you too dad" said Halley grinning widely.

This is enough for me, this is the ending I want.

All that remains is to help Halley on her path and I will be able to fulfill my purpose in this world.

I don't need anything else.

The sleepless months, the frustrations, the effort, and all that went into creating the cure were worth it.

Everything for this little moment.

I hugged Halley for about 10 minutes and then reluctantly released her.

She looked at me throwing a tender tantrum as I stopped hugging her and then she realized something.

"Buahhhh, Mr. Ken, where is my hair?!" Halley asked in panic.

"Well, you will have to wait for it to grow again, you could wear a hat and you would look more adorable" I said with a calm tone.

"*Sniff* Mr. Ken, you are mean, you don't understand how important hair is to a girl" Halley said as she cried dramatically.

"Do not feel sad, it will grow in less time than you expect, also when classes start again almost all children and adults will be the same" I said in an explanatory tone.

"Ohhh, I see" Halley said after thinking about it for a moment.

"Mr. Ken, I'm hungry, do you have something to eat?" Halley said expectantly.

"First you should take a bath and brush your teeth, the same goes for me, I'm a mess" I said as I sniffed myself.

God, how did I endure this smell for so long?

"It's okay!" Halley said cheerfully.

I had to help her walk a bit at first, apparently she lost practice a bit.

After that we left the research tent and went to one of the staff ones.

And so my story in this disaster ended.
