Chapter 23 Riding Cannabil

Valarissa's gaze swept across the entire expanse of the cave, meticulously taking note of every rock, pit, and bone that lay scattered about. With a sense of urgency, she hurried to the side, snatching up the fallen torch as she pressed onward.

In a swift motion, she leaned back, her body gliding effortlessly as she plunged a dagger into the ground, altering her trajectory and narrowly avoiding the dragon's menacing claws. As she continued her advance, her speed increased, leaving the dragon infuriated and bellowing in rage.

Her heart pounded forcefully within her chest, her blood surged through her veins at an accelerated pace, her mind remained focused and alert, and her breath remained steady and deep. In this moment, she possessed complete control, seamlessly melding with the present.

Valarissa skillfully evaded yet another swipe of the dragon's claw and swiftly retaliated by striking its leg. However, to her surprise, the anticipated agonized roar did not resonate. Instead, she observed the dagger being repelled, accompanied by a shower of sparks.

In response to Valarissa's attack, the dragon violently thrashed the ground, its colossal form thrashing about uncontrollably, causing debris to soar through the air. Reacting swiftly, Valarissa hurriedly sought refuge behind a substantial boulder.

Valarissa was forcefully thrown aside by a massive tail, resembling an impenetrable armor, as it collided with the rock, causing it to shatter into pieces. Despite her attempts to dodge the tail, she couldn't escape unscathed and was sent rolling backwards.

Struggling with the pain, Valarissa made an effort to rise to her feet, only to be met with a sight that filled her with dread. A vibrant green light cast a shadow over the fading flames of the torch, indicating that the dragon was preparing to unleash its fiery breath upon her.

As her thoughts shifted, her physical form vanished instantly upon entering the emerald expanse. Making her way towards the petite pond, she quenched her thirst by consuming as much water as possible, patiently anticipating its revitalizing effects on her recovery.

She desired to confine the dragon within the jade space, yet she was aware that the space lacked the necessary strength to confine the dragon, given its current level of development — for the time being, at least. However, upon observing the colossal steel cargo container, an idea struck her. With a mere thought, the container was emptied, leaving her with a vacant iron container.

Valarissa patiently bided her time, desiring to catch the dragon off guard with a surprise assault. Aware that confronting it directly would be futile, she contemplated the possibility of scaling its formidable back in order to assert her dominance.

Before long, Valarissa emerged once again. The dragon, under the impression that Valarissa had perished, had regained its composure. Exercising utmost caution, she aimed to avoid arousing the dragon's attention and suffering a fiery demise. Despite her body being wracked with pain, she gingerly made her way towards the cavern wall.

Quietly and without drawing the dragon's notice, she began ascending to a greater height making use of the uneven petrutions. Eventually, she reached an elevated position that allowed her to take a daring leap onto the dragon's back.

Observing Cannibal still at a considerable distance, she called out loudly, "Cannibal!"

The dragon turned it's thick neck towards her, with its emerald vertical pupils, redirected its gaze towards Valarissa. Letting out a mighty roar, it prepared to eliminate her. However, Valarissa seized the moment she had been patiently waiting for. As the dragon shifted its focus towards her, she released the container from the Jade space, causing a container to propell and Collide forcefully with the dragon's head, producing a resounding "bang!"

Despite the container being only slightly smaller than the dragon's head, the sudden and forcefully assault on its eyes prompted the creature to let out a scream and momentarily lower its head. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Valarissa swiftly dashed forward and leapt onto the dragon's head. Emitting a scream of her own, she clung onto one of its larger horns, maintaining a tight grip as the dragon violently thrashed about in an attempt to shake her off. Despite the dragon's relentless struggles, she managed to hold on, experiencing the surge of blood in her arms from the firm grasp on its colossal scales.

Amidst the dragon's fury and the repugnant stench wafting from its breath, Valarissa cried out, "Cease your struggle, you imbecilic creature! If I am to leaving from this palace, I will taking you with me!" Although her voice was scarcely audible amidst the thunderous roars of the dragon, she exerted all her strength to ascend higher, deftly harnessing the dragon's movements to her advantage.

After a fierce struggle, she eventually managed to find a more secure position by tightly embracing one of the dragon's horns, while firmly gripping onto several smaller horns with her legs.

"Cease your resistance, you ignorant creature! I bear you no ill will!" she exclaimed. The colossal form of the dragon wriggled beneath her, its wings flapping uncontrollably and its claws scraping against the earth, causing profound crevices as it desperately tried to shake her off it's back.

After a time struggling and shaking making Valarissa dizzy with all the movements, the dragon finally regained its composure, acknowledging that it couldn't shake off this resolute human. Valarissa breathed a sigh of relief, yet she refused to let go. Despite the numerous wounds from all the cuts she suffered from those sharper scales and horns, staining her black attire with her own blood, she maintained a steadfast grip on the dragon's horns.

"Listen to me... Relax, just relax!" Valarissa tried to cammond in High Valyrian. The dragon shifted its massive head, casting a glance at Valarissa, who clung onto its horns with unwavering determination.

She ordered, "Relax! Fly... Fly Cannabil, carry me to the skies!" in an attempt to soothe the creature. Gradually, the dragon's breathing became steady and its restless movements ceased. After a few more minutes, Valarissa sensed its complete stillness. With a gentle sway in its body, the dragon made its way towards the entrance, preparing to ascend into the sky.

As it flapped its wings, the colossal creature departed from the mountaintop, soaring towards the limitless expanse above.

Valarissa was overwhelmed by the sensation of weightlessness as she struggled to keep her eyes open and maintain her grip on the dragon. She made a valiant effort to open her eyes and was astonished to find herself floating above the clouds.

"It's soaring..."

Her eyes widened instantly, and Valarissa whispered in awe as she gazed at the breathtaking view before her.

In that moment, pure joy flooded over her, and she couldn't contain her excitement as she burst into laughter. "Yes, Yes that it, I'm raiding a dragon. Ha...ha.a..aha!".
