seven // jae hwa

e Hwa had noticed how Jin still kept her box of cigarettes. He was damn serious about the matter. She had acknowledged the sincerity in his eyes, which she wasn't so familiar with.

She had been an orphan. It wasn't before last year her aunt had decided to take care of her. Jae Hwa politely declined.

She did not want sympathy from unknown family members, even though she knew she was the only real family she had left. If anything were to happen to her, the aunt would be contacted.

She made her way over to Jin's locker. She had to get them back. Not that she wanted to smoke, far from it. She just couldn't let him take the blame if the teachers were to find out where he hid them.

She had been trying to open his locker for a good ten minutes before she gave up. She had tried everything. It was hopeless.

"Bitch," she hissed as she lightly banged her head into the locker.

"Try 0610," someone whispered in her ear. She automatically turned around and grabbed the person by his collar, holding her clenched fist up high.

She could almost swear she recognized these orbs from somewhere. They were of the kind you would remember. His hair was flowing naturally, stopping right above his beautiful gems. They were awfully close, but it was as if time stopped when her eyes met his.

It was an automatic response. She had grown up learning to protect herself at any cost, and now her body responded by itself.

Jae Hwa loosened her grip and pushed him against the lockers behind him. The smirk on his lips was driving her crazy. She frowned in frustration as she straightened her school uniform.

Seriousness quickly replaced his smirk. It seemed like he understood she had no problem grabbing his collar, pushing him up against the lockers again. Jae Hwa sighed as her attention turned back to the unsolved task.

"May I ask why you're trying to break into this locker like your life depends on it? I'm quite sure this doesn't belong to you," the pretty boy asked.

Jae Hwa didn't even bother focusing on him. It would just waste her time. She was trying different combinations again when she felt some warm slender fingers wrap around her wrist.

She rolled her eyes in annoyance. She bit her lip attempting to control her boiling blood. She fought so hard against herself. She couldn't end up causing any more trouble, but oh so much she wanted to make him leave her alone.

Her mind couldn't quite comprehend what was happening next. One second she was trying to get her cigarettes back, and the other she was pushed up against the lockers by a pretty boy. He searched through her eyes for any answers.

She just watched him with a bored look on her beyond average face. He reached out, and ran his fingers over the scars on her forehead. They were faded, but still visible enough to grab his attention. She turned her face the other way.

Jae Hwa tried to remember the combination he had told her earlier. She had figured by now that he was one of Jin's friends, and that he might be her only hope to get those death causing devils back where they belonged, in her possession.

"I just want to know why you're trying to break into my friend's locker," he whispered as his lips hovering over her ear. Why couldn't she remember the numbers, how hard could it be? She mentally ripped her hair out of their roots.

He was about to say something when it hit her. It was 0610. Why didn't she think of that? She grabbed his shoulder as she sent him the sweetest smile she could fake, and kneed him places her knee shouldn't be.

His eyes widened and he let out small whimpers as he kneeled down in pain. Jae Hwa quickly spun around and opened the locker, continuing the search. She had turned the whole locker upside down when she finally found them, in the back, hidden behind some black paper.

She slammed the locker shut before she turned to face the pretty boy. He was standing on his feet again, but he was bending over as if he still was in pain from the little incident that happened earlier.

"You're a big boy now. Don't cry over useless things," Jae Hwa added with a wink before leaving him there by himself.

She chuckled as she strolled down the stairs from the boys' section. He actually thought he could intimidate her. As if he could. Jae Hwa sneered as she thought about how great his life must be. She bet it was far better than hers.
