Andrew was having lunch in the barracks after a double session of training. His body wasn't even close to being tired, so maybe he would order the patrol to switch earlier and have a second round of training with them.
For Andrew, it had been nice to turn over his duties at the palace for a short while. The journey was supposed to be a vacation, hacking and slashing assassins without other care in the world. But then he met her. Faith. Her Highness. And he couldn't sleep well since then, not even in the two days that had passed since he had last seen her.
Shame rattled inside his gut, turning his stomach upside down. Considering her anything other than a princess he needed to protect was foolish on his part. All of it was his fault. He shook his head.
