Back to the Beginning

Hope went to Springwood Castle the next morning. As she rode in the carriage along the rough path, she recalled the first time she got there and met Drake. It was all as though it had happened in another lifetime to her.

As she glimpsed the castle on the top of the hill, the thick forest surrounding it, and the two meandering arms of the Spring River that held everything captive inside their embrace, Hope felt that she was home. Her emotions were completely different from the first time she had seen all of this.

The horses tossed their heads as they waited for the drawbridge to cross the Spring River and allow the carriage to enter the inner courtyard. A sense of déjà vu struck Hope, lingering in her head. The visuals were all the same, but her emotions were all over the place. She felt like another person, that was the difference.
