Empires and civilizations
Hey, I'm back, and today I'll be rambling about Empires, civilizations and what not as implied in the title, as for why... I may have been enriching my taste in webnovels and not reading generic fantasy Isekai harem where the mc becomes the villain and instead was reading an interstellar civilization builder type story, and I know, me not reading an Isekai!? well heres the twist. IT WAS AN ISEKAI!!! it's called,, Become the Guard AI Of The Lost Civilization after transmigration" and I've been really enjoying it, but it has me thinking about how civilizations, empires, kingdoms etc. are pertrayed in a story.
To start of I don't know a lot about politics or history and I may make wrong assumptions or accusations, I have also not finished the webnovel and have only read up until chapter 162 so take everything I say with a grain of salt.
So first of I think I need to describe the story so you can get an idea of what I'm talking about so there might be spoilers ahead so I'm gonna give you space so you don't accidentally read anything if you don't want to

Ok so everyone who has read up til here is probably gonna stay for the rest of the chapter so here we go: ,, Become the Guard AI Of The Lost Civilization after transmigration" from this point I will refer to it as ,,Guard AI" is a webnovel about a guy who got transmigrated as an AI which acted as a sort of administrator for a long lost civilization which is later implied to be humans by the mc and are called the apocalypse by the lost empires. From that alone you probably have a lot of questions like ,, what's a lost empire?" so to answer that question specifically a ,,lost empire" is one of the most powerful civilization that is stagnating in place, also it can only be matched by other lost empires. So why is that important, well our mc acts like a lost empire and eventually becomes a level higher than that after getting back human technology and because of that he flies all over the galaxy and we see different civilizations that most have one thing in common, and that is that they have one government for the whole civilization and this is were the whole rant is centralized: Why do these civilizations only have one government?
What do I mean by ,,one government". I mean the whole civilization has turned into a sort of singular country so you can think of other civilizations as different country's and the galaxy as earth. I know, very confusing but stick with me. So I don't think that's realistic and heres why:
How did the whole race unite in to a single government? As we have seen on our home planet, a civilization like us humans aren't united into a single nation, we have scattered into hundreds of different country's with hundreds of different languages, hundreds of different cultures and traditions, so we can make an educated guess that other civilizations would also be more or less similar, so how is it that almost every civilization is supposed to have united into one government each?
In the story it is implied that every race looks similar in their characteristics and speak the same language of that specific race, so to achieve that you would need to create one central language for the whole civilization and to do that when there are hundreds of different languages seems impossible or highly unlikely at the very least.
Why is this important, well in the ,,Guard AI" novel it is said that there are a couple of ways to communicate and those are by either using a translator or talking in the common galactic langue, and with that comes problems, let's say your a new space civilization and you have to present your language to all other civilizations so they can translate it, which out of the hundreds would you chose to use?
is it the one that is the most widely spread, or is it some other language?
Also there has to be one central government for the whole civilization so which country gets to represent that, and with questions like those you probably expect wars to happen in that civilization, but the problem is all those questions are never asked, and when we see a new civilization, they already are one government even without knowing that other civilizations exist.
Ok maybe those problems are already taken care of before we get to see them, but don't you think it would be more interesting, if they were answered or if we got some tidbits of information for them?
