It's been two days since the two of them had spent their time and energy embarking on a rigorous journey. For two nights this pair of master & disciple encountered a ton of difficulties that would've taken their lives. Though most of the difficulties mentioned seemed to have only aimed at the life of the disciple. This journey across dozens of territories inhabited by different demonic monsters led them to this peculiar grassland

"Gaze with all of your eyes my disciple, after our hardships from traveling to every territory, we finally arrive. By far this is the only open field where you can make a sigh of relief. The demonic beast that inhabited this place is said to have a hearing disorder," He gazes proudly at his half-dead-looking disciple that suffered from their journey

Seeing Alex's pitiful state he gave him a chunk of their rations for him to consume. With the nutrients, he gained he was able to accelerate the regenerative capabilities of his body. Soon after most of his bruises have disappeared from his body, Alex caught a glimpse of the beautiful scenery. They finally reached the edge of the forest, a place peculiar yet peaceful compared to the rest. He felt a little relaxed due to the atmosphere, mostly because he hasn't received any life-threatening situation to arise

"Hearing disorder...? Can you give me an example that I can relate to? I'm not that well educated since I've become a slave," Alex replied to his master whilst he sat on the soft and comfortable field of grass

"Hearing disorder... Think of these monsters as the average romcom harem protagonist eyed by many girls. Think of that one scene where one of the heroines blurted out that she loves the protagonist. Due to having the hearing disorder the story continues, this is one of the most despised ways to continue a story. Instead of shortening the story, the author then continues to make filler episodes that have no impact on the story,"

The noise it created was enough for anything that has a perfectly normal sense of hearing would've heard. However, what Alex witnessed was the same thing as what his master had explained. These monsters thought their powerful and durable enough to survive their harsh environment. Their scales gave them the chance to survive, but too much of their defenses became a weakness

'These monsters' weaknesses are by far one of the dumbest things revealed to the world. Who would've thought the scales that protected them in their daily routine would be their undoing? Durable check, power check, agility below average, awareness it's practically blind. Their scales covered their ears, nose, and probably their eyes as well, this scale reproduction made it possible for them to survive. But I don't think it's worth that much if it lessens your awareness to a certain degree,'

"Visually impaired, hearing disorder, and lastly it has no such kind of sense of smell I didn't think there are such species. Master how did they even survive this hell of an environment, these monsters are useless as they get!! Do you want me to shoot one of them? Is that why the reason why your pointing at them, okay if you say so," Alex took a long and hard breath as he pulled his long and durable bow and fired an arrow made by his thornerus bone structure

His arrow descended from his location and due to how well-made it was, it traveled through the air without a single problem. By the time his powerful arrow reaches the surface of the monster, he notices a manifestation occur in its shell. The mana it had within its body formed a protective shield, however, Alex's arrow was far too superior in strength. It easily pierces through its defense but the result of his action was clear as day

"I-it got stopped!!?" Neon didn't scold him when he screamed his lungs out for the very first time. The stony plateau was one of the most isolated places in the dark forest. This environment was the perfect place for his loudmouth of a disciple. Alex was dumbfounded by the result of his attack, his arrow was superior he knows this for a fact. Superior his arrow was, it wasn't at its pinnacle strength

When matched with the scale of the monster, Alex's perfectly fired arrow got stuck. His arrow wasn't even able to make this roaming enemy that's vulnerable to any kind of attack, to even make it bleed. His arrogance was easily broken and his views on this monster were reinforced as his worst possible encounter. An attack he perfectly trained every time he had to pass his time, his most successful strategic plan to bring about the end of his enemy

Alex came to realize the reason why he was brought to this particular territory, was due to this monster. A monster that could easily defend itself from his attack when most of the monsters he faced did not. But his master didn't flinch, he even made an expression that was close for his face to imitate a smile

"Very good, you finally realize that a single attack can only go so far as to kill a certain type of monster. But I've never brought you here just so I can make a point... That would've been a waste of everyone's time. Look closely, my gullible disciple, when faced with a monster that defies every attack you try to land. What would a person do? Will you run? Would you try to attack once more? The best way to fight such a foe is to wield a weapon well-suited for its opponent," Soon after Neon said those words he manifested a thornerus bolt from the palm of his hands

[Unique race ability: The Guardian has called for the use of one of the abilities within his race

[Homunculus shift]: The guardian who's apart of the homunculus race has a special ability to completely alter their form. If the required mana has been met this skill will naturally activate once it's been invoked

Status: The guardian has chosen the only recorded shifted form the [Bow of abomination]. New shifted forms will be unlocked as soon as another one has been created]

As the person who adopted Alex and converted him to his own created race, Neon displayed a stronger version of Alex's inherited ability. Perfect imagery to reshape his manifested weapon, his overflowing mana which he used to increase its value. Neon even goes so far as to mutate his hand and let his disciple have a glimpse of another ability he has yet to unlock. His left arm which previously turned into a lesser homunculus expands to create his chosen weapon

Instead of disgust, Alex was amazed by the sight that his currently witnessing with a closer look. Neon's left arm slowly changes to the form he used to bring about the end of his strongest enemy to date. As soon as he locked on his target with the use of his golden eye, he fired his shot. Compared to his disciple his attacks affected the surrounding areas and his arrow pierces through his enemies. A large earthquake ensues right after and the smokes disperse to show the monster's shell and its body is completely shattered by his attack

There are not even remnants of the monster to be seen," After they finally entered the plateau Neon gave him a brief description of their terrains and the monster that dwells. After that, the two of them took a short break, they continued with their journey
