40 Chapter-40 : Amy Pascal

Sitting inside the pool with a glass of juice, Ric is cooling of the heat.

It's been a week since the concert when he arrived in his villa at Beverly hills.

The reason for coming is basically to attend classes. Ric was admitted to UCLA last year. He is doing a major in psychology and finance and had a great academic performance that year.

But due to the concert, he has missed a few initial classes this year, which he covered after returning. Unlike others, he doesn't live in a dorm, he goes to classes from this home. That's why he bought this villa.

Ric had his body submerged in the water while out with his eyes closed, enjoying the silence when a sound broke it.

It was the sound of someone coming to the poolside. So, he opened his eyes followed the sound only to discover a lady standing there.

The lady smiled and said,

"Sorry for disturbing you, Ric."

"Amy, what are you doing here?" asked Ric with confusion while he started getting up from the pool.

The woman is none other than Amy Pascal. After Ric bought Columbia Pictures and formed <Feather Columbia Media>, he made her the president of the motion picture department of <FCM>, also known as <Feather Columbia Pictures>.

"Sorry to come unnoticed like this, but I need to discuss something," replied Amy.

"If it is about work, you know I don't interfere with the regular operations of the company unless it involves large transactions," replied Ric while he was dring his body and sat on the couch while gesturing her to sit as well and continued,

"So, what's so important that you came to my home."

"<FCP> is going to buy the <new line cinema>, but it requires your authorization," she replied.

"Go ahead, but had you made any estimated value," Ric gave his permission.

"Yes, according to our team, the value is closed to 300-400 million," she answered, then continued,

"But there is a slight problem. They don't want to sell the company completely. They want to sell the share, but willing to give 60 % but not the controlling stake and top it off they are asking 5 million per share percentage."

Ric thought for a moment and said,

"But that's not the actual problem. Otherwise, you won't come to me."

"As perspective as ever boss, that's right, the real problem is we might have a competitor. Our source tells that Warner Bro is also establishing contact with them," replied Amy.

"Warner Bros. Oh my... that's might be a problem." Ric frowned and asked,

"How much is your bottom line?"

"In between 300-350 million," replied Amy.

"Let's do this before Warner can offer a price, minimum 70% share for 300 million with controlling stake to them and an additional 200 million capital injection without diluting the share," said Ric.

"Hmmm... Yes, it can be possible. But are you sure you want to give these much?" asked Amy.

"No, this is to make Warner back off and also my bottom line," said Ric.

What Amy didn't know that the new line cinema is a gold mine. Many successful movies came from it in the future.

And if things go according to the future, the studio was acquired by Warner Bros.

So, in order for Warner not to enter the picture, he threw this price.

She nodded understandingly about what he meant.

At this moment, an attendant came with some refreshments kept in front of them and left.

Taking a glass from the table, Amy said,

"When are you gonna return to the silver screen?"

"Not at the moment. At least I would like to finish my education first or at a stage where study won't make much of a problem. So, silver screen have to wait for 2-3 more years," replied Ric with a sigh and continued,

"By the way, what the situation of <The punisher>."

"Everything is alright up until now. If there is no problem or delay, the movie will be released in June.

But I Have to say boss, the blueprint you made for marvel film is truly exceptional. If things go according to plan then we will be at the top of the industry just by producing marvel movies."

Listing to Amy, Ric laughed. After a few casual conversations later, she left. Ric also got ready an hour later and went to his car.

Sitting on the driver's seat, Daniel, Ric's bodyguard, asked,

"Where to Boss?"

"Take me to FCBS Office," replied Ric.

At FCBS office, the CEO's room.

In the room, a man is reading some files which show some reports of the company's daily operation and few ratings of different shows that had been broadcasting.

On the table, there was a name tag where it was written 'Robert Iger'.

Ric poached Robert Iger from NBC before he became the president of ABC and made him the CEO of CBS, now FCBS. With Robert Iger on the job, FCBS had a huge improvement and also become more efficient.

In fact, he was the one who organized the popular show <Who wants to be a milionner> from Ric's draft. Also got Oprah to create the famous show, The Oprah Winfrey Show.

At this moment, when he was busy reading the reports, there was a knock at the door.

"Come in," he answered.

Opening the door, his personal secretary came in and said,

"Sir, Boss is here. He is waiting for you in his room."

"Thank you for informing me. You may go now," he replied.

After she left, Iger closed the files and got up thinking,

'I wonder why Richard is here.'

After that, he got out of his room and went straight to Ric's room.

In all the departments and subsidiaries of Ric's company, there is a room dedicated to him. So that whenever he visits, there will be no inconvenience to others who are working.

So, when Iger came to the room, he saw Ric sitting and taking with Sofie.

Seeing him, Ric said,

"Hey, Robert. Long time no see."

"Long time no see to you to Ric. But I have to complain you don't often visit. Isn't this your company!!." he replied.

"Hey hey, don't need to say that. it's just that you have been running the company so, smoothly that I don't need to come." Ric replied.

"Thanks for your confidence in me. I am very humbled." Robert said while giving a nod to Sofie and sitting down.

Meanwhile, Sofie got up and left the room giving space to them for their meeting.

The moment she left Robert said,

"So, boss what's the catch?"

"A big one Robert," replied Ric.

"Oooo... you making me excited boss... So, what is it?" replied Robert making an exaggerated both hand rubbing gesture.

Seeing him Ric smiled. He then leans forward and said,

"Have you heard about the term 'fear factor'?"
