"The first day itself hit the bar high," Mason said while walking to Ian's office.
"I know right,
It has been just a couple of hours after twenty-four and people had embraced how good the movie was from the first screening itself. After the first day itself, 30 million dollars were the profits Green Book made after the first day
"I'm sure most of the people watched the movie to support and all after all those promotions. And the power Moses has in the industry is higher than the average. People were continuously talking about how good it was and the topic is revolving around if this would be his last movie," Ian said with a slight smile knowing the answer for the latter part of his statement.
"The party will be in two days later, right?" Mason questioned back.
"Yeah, it is. By the way, uncle wanna read some comments so we can get a good grasp about how people think abt the movie," Ian questioned, knowing Mason enjoys watching people talk about the movie.
They opened the website 'It's A Movie (IAM) and started scrolling down the name till they reached the section about Green Book.
@When.I.See.Your_Mom
I know the critics are being hard on this film, but I sat for two hours, totally captivated. I know there are stereotypes. Could that be because the repeated actions against minorities and the actions of racists have become so commonplace they seem like stereotypes? I believe the performances of these two fine actors made the show. There is a subtlety to this movie that transcends many others of its type. Yes, there are Southern cops; yes, there are men's rooms that are off-limits; yes, there are simplistic views of racism by white New Yorkers. But what I got was a realistic presentation of an evolving friendship. Shirley is abrasive and self-centered; Lip is clueless most of the time. And I believed in them. See this film.
@New_Movie00
This film proves why movies can be so powerful with a touching, poignant, and sometimes funny story of opposites attracting. Enjoyed every moment although it isn't always easy to watch. Mortenson and Ali shine and there are strong supporting roles as well.
"Oh wow, see this, both of them rated ten out of ten, they sure love it," Ian said with another smile.
"Yeah, meh see this one," Mason said and pointed at a two-star review.
@I_Feel_Like_A.Movie
It is almost as stereotypical of a film as Crash. This was made for one reason, to appease. Film and TV are extremely competitive nowadays so we have relentless pandering to every little discrepancy and art has suffered in lieu of profit. Music is dead and so is the film now. At least in America.
@its.not.that.boring
I watched this movie on Putlocker online. But it was worse than what low expectations I had. It was dull, drab, and boring, not remotely funny. I couldn't get past the first 15 minutes to get to the message if there was one. Highly missable.
"Explains, and I know these people must be people from other studios or people who just simply hate the idea of the story," Ian said with a low chuckle. "I'm way past considering their opinion,"
"My boy," Mason said just above a whisper thinking how much he had grown from thinking about the critics to not being concerned about them when they aren't that important.
"Oh uncle, see this, this is a good one,"
@okay.mama
This picture should be up for BEST PICTURE. It has everything: great acting, solid script-writing (something that Hollywood really needs), and lots of humor. I wish that Hollywood would make more pictures like this. It's a moving true story about two people who forge an unlikely friendship. Thought-provoking but never preachy.
"Oh nice one, I have to go now uncle, to the editing room. Batman Begins editing crew must be here at any moment," Right when Ian said it Murphy knocked on the door which earned permission from Ian to come in.
"The team is here sir," Murphy said.
[...]
Ian was finally in the studio to edit. Steffen and his crew were working hard on the editing because the movie would literally be nothing without the required capacity of quality editing. And, the team had it a lot easier considering how aware Ian was of what needed to be edited and how.
"No, can I take this shot a bit closer, yeah? Yes, okay, and the sound should match with the actions, it's slightly shaken a bit, take it again," Ian said while looking at the screen in front of him wearing the headset that connected to the screen.
"Ian, how about this, the lighting should dimmer a bit don't you think? The darkness is prominent in the movie as you said, but this part–"
"Yes– Just from the right side, and let's select the background for the rest of the scene. Are these not edited, Steffen?" Ian shifted his focus to the other screen where Steffen was editing the background as Ian wanted.
"Not a bit, the edges, should they be curvy or pointed? Pointed looks like a clown movie," Steffen said while zooming in and out of the picture.
"Go with curvy then, what about the other edges?" Ian questioned pointing at the screen.
"Let's go one by one, and I was not sure about the color too, would it even fit?" Steffen questioned looking at the screen and then turning to look at Ian.
"We should darken it a bit more– More, okay that would be fine," Ian said while sighing loudly.
It has been over three hours and they had to edit every single second of the movie thoroughly. Although they had done so many things already, some things needed special attention to continue.

"Best regards for everyone, and hello, thank you so much for coming. First I want to congratulate Mason and our team on making Ian's script a reality which revealed its true glory on the first day itself. And I can assure every one of you that, Green Book just started, and it still has lots of success to achieve. But unfortunately, I want to make end deals with my career. I have been thinking about it a lot after my award-winning movie 'Friends To Last', I have always wanted to get retirement after completing my career with a movie that I would feel like, this is my last one. So, here it is.
First of all, I want to talk about my old friend, Marles Ajah. I know you are looking at us from up, and I want to thank you for being an awesome friend, and a partner in work and to let you know that you are the best scriptwriter I have ever come across in my entire career life.
I started my journey as an actor in the industry and climbed my way to the top, which was full of challenges and hardships. It was not easy for even a quick second if I looked back, but for what it's worth, my career name which people praise and adore my movies means a lot to me.
Then, Mr. Reggie who supported me to work on my studio for years, I wish I could thank you in person, but I hope you are happy wherever you are, sir.
Hmm…" Moses took a huge breath and looked at the ground. "Time passes slowly, and a whole lot of different attachments I have with each one of you and my career. But as all the good things come to end, I want to thank everyone that I met throughout the journey that helped me to build up steps and take them.
I want to also mention how proud I am to be here, and without spending any more time to finish my speech, let's raise a toast. For my retirement!" Moses raised the glass of champagne which everyone else followed.
Many people, including Ian, Mason, and others were present at the hotel hall to celebrate the farewell of Moses, one of the best directors to ever exist in the industry. Some tore up listening to his words, considering how much it hit home for them.
Almost more than half were old people and had a history together with Moses the kind Moses had to climb the tough mountain with. This meant, they helped each other during the hardest times and smiled together when things went better.
"I won't take long, can I have some attention everyone?" Another man with a white beard, and skinny pants, tapped his glass and gained everyone's attention.
"I want to say how much we would miss you and your amazing works in the industry. When I first met you at the audition we both–"
Several more speeches were given and the night after two weeks of 'Batman Begins' editing, felt longer and longer for Ian who stood in the middle of many experienced directors and people who offered their priceless service to the industry.
