Blood Magic Duel (1)

Editor: Atlas Studios

"Expecto Patronus!" Ivan raised his wand high, and the white mist formed a special shield in front of him.

The black fog crashed down like a tidal wave, and Ivan, standing in the middle of the aisle, was like a solid rock, unmoving under the impact.

With a sharp hiss, a blinding white light cut through the darkness, and an illusory, proud unicorn rose into the air on a cloud of light. A large hole was punched through the vast sea of black mist, and it charged straight at Tom Riddle…

"I can't believe you chose to fuse unicorn blood," Tom Riddle said, frowning. He could sense that her Patronus was subtly restraining his own blood magic.

Tom Riddle did not dare to be careless. He pointed his finger and a strange black light shot out from the tip of his wand.

The Unicorn's Shadow, however, was not affected. The black light passed through it, creating plumes of transparent white smoke…

Seeing this, Tom Riddle became even more cautious. He did not think Ivan Hals would do anything useless. His Patronus must have some other purpose.

Within a second, Tom Riddle had come up with a plan to deal with the white light before it reached him.

If his Patronus could affect his Bloodline Magic, so could his Patronus!

Tom Riddle gently clenched his right fist, and the black mist suddenly converged into a giant snake several feet long, which bit the unicorn.

The black mist and the white light melted into each other, and the unicorn hissed. The black mist snake was much tougher than the black sea, and its long body swept up and bound the unicorn.

Fortunately, Ivan never placed all his hopes on the Unicorn's Shadow.

While the two illusory beasts fought, Ivan kept closing the distance between them.

The two sides were less than ten meters apart!

Tom Riddle could not understand why this young wizard in front of him was so determined to get close to him, but the more his enemy wanted something, the more he would not allow it!

"Avada Kedavra!" Tom Riddle used the Killing Curse.

A green light flashed!

Ivan managed to roll over and narrowly avoid the attack. He swept his wand across the ground, causing a large amount of rubble to deform and transform into flying birds.

Tom Riddle waved his wand, and the flock of birds exploded in a shower of red blood…

There were still five metres between them…

This was not the best distance to attack, but Ivan could not wait any longer, as Tom Riddle would not give him the opportunity to get any closer.

"Godspeed Shadowless!" Ivan shouted.

An invisible magical blade sliced through the air…

Even though it was impossible to see with the naked eye, Tom Riddle could tell by the sense of danger that Ivan had cast that particular spell again.

Tom Riddle had a disdainful smile on his face. The last time he had been injured by Ivan, he had been caught off guard.

Now, all he had to do was…Tom Riddle raised his hand to cast the spell, but in the next second, his body froze. At some point, Ivan's black eyes had turned orange!

The moment their eyes met, Tom Riddle immediately thought of a basilisk's eyes!

How is this possible? Ivan Hals's Patronus was supposed to be a unicorn. He should have been fused with the blood of a unicorn…

Before Tom Riddle could think clearly, all his thoughts and attention were captured by those eyes, and his body grew rigid.

At that moment, the Shadowless Blade struck Tom Riddle in the chest again, tearing a large hole in his body of black mist, revealing the black diary buried deep within his chest.

Ivan, meanwhile, was having a bad time. He could feel his body's magic being drained away, at an average rate of ten units per second…

By contrast, Tom Riddle was affected by the snake's eye, but due to it being in a life-or-death situation and having previously been infused with snake blood, his petrification was unusually slow…

Ivan struggled to activate the Ring of Fierce Fire. Wisps of heart-stopping fire poured from the tip of his wand and condensed into a fist-sized fireball that shot towards Tom Riddle.

Three metres apart… Tom Riddle still couldn't move, and the gaping hole in his chest was closing slowly, but not fast enough for the Fire to get to him.

Two metres!

Over Tom Riddle's head, Ravenclaw's diadem flashed, and the azure stone seemed to shimmer with magic.

One meter!

The motionless Tom Riddle suddenly raised his hand stiffly, and the Killing Curse lit up.

"Avada Kedavra!"

Ivan did not see this coming, and before he knew it, the blinding green light was upon him.

Fortunately, a lightning-fast white blur materialized in front of Ivan and blocked the Killing Curse. The unicorn shattered into white mist in front of Ivan and vanished into thin air.

The blue light in the system bar representing the Unicorn's Shadow dimmed,

Ivan didn't even have time to register the system's prompt. He waved his wand quickly, and Tom Riddle did the same.

The two destructive spells collided in mid-air, and the resulting shockwave knocked both parties back.

"Cough, cough…" Ivan got up from the rubble, clutching his chest, his heart sinking.

He went to great lengths to create those few seconds in which he could completely destroy the Horcrux with fire.

To his surprise, he managed to restrain Tom Riddle's consciousness, but another Horcrux took over Tom's body and destroyed his plan.

Yvonne was desperate …

He had less than 20% of his magic power left, and the Ring of Fire could no longer be used. Even the Bloodline Magic Unicorn's Shadow had fallen into a cooldown period due to its ability to resist the Killing Curse…

Ivan doesn't even see a chance of beating the opposition …

On the other hand, Tom Riddle's form became much more incorporeal, and even more grotesque, his face was transformed into an ugly, narrow, and strange face, which in the next instant changed back to its original appearance.

Ravenclaw's diadem gleamed faintly…

Tom Riddle's mouth opened and closed soundlessly as he muttered to himself. The two Horcruxes seemed to be arguing, and his face kept changing…

"Shattered!" Ivan attacked tentatively.

Tom Riddle blocked it with his hand, and the two Horcruxes reached some sort of agreement.
