6 Chapter 6 Crushing on him

When evening came, Tang Ning went to her friend's work place such that they could spend some time together and as they headed back home. Daiyu worked as a nurse at a certain hospital.

As they were on their way back home, they were talking about random things. "How was the interview?" asked Daiyu. "Not bad. Did I tell you that I had met your aunt with the twins yesterday at the mall?" asked Tang Ning. "Yes you told me. It's such a coincidence right?" "Yes indeed."

"But I'm sure that you will get the job. First because I recommended you to my aunt and secondly, you had met earlier," she said.

"I'm hoping to get it too. My father's medicine is quite expensive," she replied. "I understand and I'm sure you'll get it," she said as they continued.

After a moment of silence, Daiyu said,"Do you still think about him?"

"Who?" asked Tang Ning. "Don't feign ignorance with me. Of course you know who am talking about," she said. "Not usually," Tang Ning replied. "Don't you have feelings for him anymore?" she asked. Tang Ning sighed before saying,"I don't think I still do. It's been so long Daiyu."

As they continued walking, she recalled the memories of her high school in Junior year. Feng Shufen was a boy in senior year liked by many girls at school, and she couldn't deny that she was also attracted to him. She used to observe him, secretly crushing on him and she had no idea that her elder sister had her eyes on the same boy. Until one day, she was surprised when Feng Shufen approached her and asked for the two of them to be friends.

She accepted right away because he was a nice person, down to earth even though he came from a rich family. After about a month and half of being friends, he confessed his feelings for her much to her shock and she asked for some time to think about it even though she wanted to tell him about how she felt too.

At the same time, word spread and Tang Moyu attacked her saying that she had stolen the guy she had set her eyes on, calling her a traitor. Tang Ning who had always wanted to please her sister decided to tell Feng Shufen that she didn't feel the same way like him and that they should stop being friends. He tried to insist but she had made up her mind and also started to avoid him.

She knew that she hurt him and the last she heard about him was that he left the country to pursue collage overseas.

"As I always told you, you didn't have to sacrifice your happiness for your ungrateful sister," said Daiyu who had spotted an ice cream booth and said," I will be right back."

Shortly, she came back with two big cones of ice cream and handed one to her.

"How are we going to board the bus with this?" she asked as she licked on it.

"The only option is eating it as fast as we can," she replied before adding," We were still saying."

"It was actually you still saying something," said Tang Ning. "Yes. You should try to look for him. You have been proven that your sister will always be ungrateful no matter what you do," she said. "Looking for him is a not a good idea. I don't think he still remembers me or doesn't have someone in his life. And perhaps, I'm not ready for a relationship right now. My top priority is my father," she answered. Before Daiyu could reply, Tang Ning felt her pants vibrating and she fetched for her phone before looking at the caller. "It's your aunt," she said before quickly picking it. "Hello Ms Fang," she answered.

"Tang Ning how are you?" "I'm alright Ms Fang. How is little Huan?" she asked. "She is knocked out right now as we've just come back from the park," she replied. "Oh, let me hope they had fun." "Yes they did. Now, I wanted you to come at the house tomorrow. The boss would like to see you. Will it be possible?" she asked.

"Of course I will come. Should it be in the morning?" she asked. "I think in the afternoon will be more appropriate." "Alright Ms Fang I will come. Thank you so much," she replied.

"You were given the job?" asked Daiyu the moment the call ended. "I don't know but I guess I should think so. She asked me to go tomorrow," she replied. "Of course you got the job. Why else would she call you?" she asked.

"I don't want to be so hopeful. What if they called all the aspirants?" she asked. "I can call my aunt and ask," she said. "No. I will wait till tomorrow."

The following day at noon, Tang Ning hailed a cab. When she reached the Jing household, she entered with ease unlike last time when she had to do a lot of explaining.

Getting inside the house, she couldn't help the nervousness that creeped into her at the thought of meeting Mr Jing Yue. She prayed he accepted her to have the job.

"Pretty auntie!!" she heard a voice and turned to see little Huan running towards her wearing a swimming costume. "Little Huan," she said scooping her in her arms. "What have you been doing?" she asked noticing her black hair wet, but asked nonetheless. "I have been waiting for you to come. When you took long, I went swimming," she said. "Are you done now?" she asked and she shook her head. "I had come to get some drinking water," she replied. "Have you got it then?" she asked and she nodded. "Alright. I will go inside and tell Ms Fang that I'm here," she said.

"Aunt Fang is at the pool with Juan Juan," she said. "Alright. Let's go there then," she said and walked towards the pool carrying her.

Reaching the pool, they found Ms Fang seated at the side as she watched the boy swim and on seeing her, she smiled at her. "I almost forgot that I invited you over," she said.
