Prince Lucien did not try to explain it to Penelope. Instead, he moves his hand to signal Sir Charlie to walk toward him. The secretary gives the small box he is holding to the little girl and Prince Lucien urges her to open it. Although she's confused, Penelope still opens the box and sees what is inside of it. 

 

"Handsome brother, this is your pendant." Penelope said.

 

The small box contains the same pendant that Penelope snatched from Prince Lucien when they first met in the plaza.

 

"Well, not anymore." Prince Lucien said. "Why don't you check it and see the portrait inside?"

 

Under his smiling gaze, Penelope follows the prince's instructions. She gently opens the locket and sees what's inside. The little girl blinks her eyes in surprise before she looks back at Prince Lucien.

 

"Handsome brother, why is my mommy's portrait inside the pendant?"
