Chap 3: Who's Yota?

Hinami didn't have a single friend inside the village, due to her status in two noble clans and her training regime, she only really knew the other kids her age from the academy, but she wanted another friend who wasn't related to her. But her schedule was so hectic she only ever saw and played with members of her family. She had training with the senju during the morning before the academy, then after the academy she'd eat a small snack of some sort before her training immediately began with the hyuga. On weekends she studied medical ninjutsu and more of Ninja law and history. She saw Naruto and Kyoto on occasion, but only when she had breaks from training. The girl saw Neji, Hinata, even Ikumi daily. She was so bored and wanted so badly to have more friends in the academy, but most others were too scared to come near her or called her and Hinata things like alien eyes. So more often than not she sat with Hinata the two weren't very popular at the academy. Hinami was lost in thought as she looked towards the window of the academy, wearing her hair in a braid behind her head, the hair reaching her mid back, flowers decorating the hairstyle, at different points, wearing a light blue short sleeve shirt with black shorts.

"Hinami." Iruka called at the front of the room, Hinata nudged the girl's side, Hinami looked to the front of the room. Blinking a moment as she met Iruka's gaze.

"Yes sensei." She said in response, looking towards Iruka who stood at the front of the class. His brown hair in a ponytail behind his head wearing a headband around his forehead, wearing a blue ninja outfit, with a chunin flak jacket overtop. He had a scar going over the bridge of his nose, under either eye, wearing black zori on his feet with a shuriken holster on his right thigh and a kunai pouch on his back waist.

"Can you demonstrate the clone jutsu for us?" He said and Hinami looked forwards, before standing creating five shadow-clones which appeared around the room, Iruka looking in shock at the clones a moment before nodding to Hinami, 'those weren't regular clones.' the class gasping around them whispers about the fourth hokage's daughter being a genius rang around the room

"Thank you." He said in response and the girl nodded before sitting back down, dismissing the clone jutsu, balancing a pencil between her fingers as Iruka continued with his lecture. Moving his arm in a grand gesture as he spoke to the class about the clone jutsu, most of the students seemed more than a little disinterested in the lecture as they sat at the wooden desks.

"The clone jutsu is an essential part of being a ninja, being able to create diversions and confuse the enemy will prove a necessity in battle." Iruka stated, Hinami just sighed through the lecture as it'd been the same every single time he brought up the clone jutsu. Sighing, she looked over towards the window twisting her pink pencil in her grip.

"Hinami and Ino, you'll start the sparings off." Iruka called as they stood in the yard of the school, the students all standing on the dirt field standing against the fence, they were in view of the Hokage's Anbu who were monitoring the entire village. The two girls walked out to the field, Ino's platinum blonde hair reaching her shoulders, held from her face with a red barrette, looking towards Hinami with her pupiless blue eyes wearing a pink short sleeve dress with the skirt reaching below her knees with a purple apron overtop. Her brown zori reached halfway up her calf.

"Alright!" Ino said excitedly, the two girls rarely ever spar, in fact, this was their first sparring. The match had to remain inside a large white circle painted on the ground, their goal was to remain inside the circle, or boundary.

"These matches are a waste of time." Hinami said in response, her bangs falling over her face, partially obscuring her eyes, the rest of her hair in a braid behind her head, reaching midway down her back, wearing a light blue short sleeve shirt with black shorts, she had the Senju clan symbol on the back of her clothing, wearing blue zori on her feet.

"Kick her butt Hinami!" Naruto yelled from the sidelines,

"Wipe the floor with her Ino!" Sakura yelled in return, Iruka having the two create the unison sign. Which they did, before standing across from each other, Hinami avoiding Ino's jab towards her moving to the right, hitting her with gentle fist, which sent the girl out of bounds and out of the match. The girl was coughing on the ground, unable to continue.

"Yeah!!" Naruto said cheering as yells of shock came over the group, Hinami walked towards Ino, offering her hand, to the girl, creating the unison sign once more, walking back over to the groups of kids waiting, standing next to Hinata while Ino stood with Sakura.

"That was awesome, in one hit too." Hinata commented as she looked over, talking quietly, and Hinami looked over a moment, before shrugging, the six year old was bored. All she ever did was train, she wanted to do something else for a change, but that was never going to happen.

"I wanna go home." She said in response, Naruto and Sasuke sparring right after, followed by Sakura against Hinata, and so on until the entire class had gone.

"Hinami. Please take these papers to Inamu sensei in the upperclassroom down the hall." Iruka said and the girl stood from her seat, grabbing the papers from the man before heading out of the classroom. They were now going over the proper uses of a kunai, but Hinami had already completed her paper, two seconds before Sasuke, much to the boy's annoyance. Walking down the hallway, she ignored a few jabs from the upperclassmen that passed her in the hallways. Reaching Inamu-sensei's class, she knocked on the closed door. Being told to enter, she found the man standing at the blackboard, his ash brown hair sitting on his head brushing his shoulders, wearing his headband around his forehead, wearing a blue ninja outfit with a chunin flak jacket overtop with black zori on his feet, wrappings around his shins.

"Iruka-sensei requested I deliver these to you." Hinami said after introductions getting straight to the point, passing the papers forwards. And Inamu hummed in response, before grabbing the offered papers, Hinami bowing in return, before leaving the classroom, a quick glance to the classroom told her it was Neji's class. The boy sitting near the back of the class, bandages around his forehead.

"Hey, byakugan monster, show us the byakugan or go away, freak." a few classmates said to Hinata, Iruka had left the classroom,

"Leave her alone!" Naruto said, immediately jumping in front of Hinata trying to defend Hinata who'd begun crying from the bullying, before looking towards Naruto in shock.

"What are you gonna do about it?" the bully's asked in return and Naruto looked over,

"I'll beat you up! That's what!" Naruto said in response, raising his fist in seriousness as he stood in front of Hinata who stood behind him shyly looking towards the bullies with tears brimming in her eyes.

"You've gotta be kidding, you're barely midway up the class in taijutsu." he said between laughs, poking at Naruto, Hinami coming up behind the bullies in the same moment, hitting three of the bullies with gentle fist and sending them to the ground without her saying a word. Before lifting her head, looking towards the remaining bullies that stood visibly pale.

"Leave Hinata alone, or I'll knock you out too." Hinami said calmly, looking towards the students who instantly backed away, not wanting to catch her rage once more, which seemed to settle the fight between Naruto and the bullies, the bullies not wanting to fight the daughter of the fourth hokage, which was how most of her interactions went. She sighed as she grabbed Hinata's arm, walking back to their seats, sitting with her, she passed her a handkerchief. Speaking sofly to the girl as she handed the fabric to her.

"Don't cry Hinata, they aren't worth your tears." Hinami said loud enough for Hinata and Naruto talking to Shikamaru and Choji, the three of them the three unlikely musketeers, always together, bestfriends. Naruto knowing Shikaku and Yoshino (Shikamaru's parents) as his uncle and aunt as their dads were also best friends. Often having sleepovers and the like with the two boys.

Hinami ran up to the hidden leafs forest, running from the hyuga compound. It was midday, the sun shining in the sky, causing the trees to cast shadows on the ground of the forest. She was hiding from training, she didn't like training so much. It was so much with Hinata, Neji and then with Tsunade and Kiyoka and her father, and then the academy, she wanted to get away from it all. Even if it wouldn't be long until she was found. She was the hokage's daughter after all, but more than that, they'd use their byakugan to find her no problem once they realized she was missing. She wore her black hair around her head, wearing black training clothes with mesh armor peering through her shins and forearms. Her feet were bare, as she walked through the many trees of the forest, passing underbrush and puddles of water in the grass, before coming up on a small treehouse that sat on what looked to be rotting wood. Sitting in the shade of the large tree, she pulled her knees to her chest, the girl cried. Her sobs were muffled by her arms, but they could be heard nonetheless. She missed Gaara and Sana, her only friends that she had. She didn't want to train all the time.

"Are you sad?" another kid said from the treehouse, startling Hinami as a shiver ran up her spine, he was a small and skinny boy with tan skin and a constant blush. He had spiky waist-length, brown hair with short bangs hanging over his eyes and chin-length strands framing both sides of his face. He had green eyes with no pupils. A sharp tooth was sticking out of the right side of his mouth. He also had a wide smile with pronounced canines. He wore a dull green robe with a dull brown cloak, wooden geta, and bandages on his head and wrists, with a purple headband. Hinami startled, she hadn't expected anyone to be there, she thought she was alone, but… she wasn't, her pale pink pupiless eyes looked towards the boys green ones. She looked startled before she nodded, wiping her eyes as she looked towards the boy who looked to be younger than her, the scleria around his green eyes was black, she didn't know what that meant, but she could entertain the boy.

"Yeah… It's so much. I don't have any friends outside of my family in the village." Hinami said in return, she didn't think this boy was dangerous. There were no warning signs going off in her head, she thought it odd that the boy who looked to be younger than her was out on his own. It was strange. But, that wasn't what she was looking into at the moment. Right now, she found herself looking towards the small child, tears still running from her face as the boy jumped down next to her, looking over before seeming to decide something holding his hand out

"I Yota, wanna be friends?" Yota said in response and Hinami looked towards the boy in shock before she nodded, grinning, her eyes brightening from the offer of friendship from Yota, he had an odd way of speaking but Hinami didn't notice.

"Yeah… Yeah… I'm Hinami Senju." She said in response, the tears still falling from her eyes, looking over as she grinned looking over towards Yota who met her with a questioning look, turning to face her completely,

"Are you still sad?" Yota questioned, tilting his head slightly, his brown hair brushing the ground a moment.

"A little bit." She said, Yota dancing around, making the girl laugh as she looked towards him,

"Yota!!" Sakura yelled coming up the hill with Ino, Shikamaru, Choji, and Naruto in tow, the group bringing a basket with them. Upon reaching the tree, the group froze Hinami sat underneath the tree, watching the boy who was dancing around the girl laughing

"Hey, Hinami, what are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be training?" Naruto said and Hinami looked over,

"I ran off from training. I'm always training, I just… didn't want to today." Hinami said in response, sniffling, a moment,

"Hey, you're the one that's always playing with the flowers and animals during class right? Sticking close to the other two?" Ino said walking closer with Sakura, Hinami nodded,

"I'm Hinami. And the other one is Hinata." Hinami said in response,

"I'm Ino. and this is Sakura, wanna be friends?" Ino said giving a smile and Hinami looked at her shocked a moment, before she grinned, nodding in return,

"Y-yeah! Okay!" Hinami said as she nodded before she was pulled to her feet by both girls, Ino grinning confidently with her platinum blonde hair brushing her shoulders, holding a red barrette on the right side, wearing a pink shirt with a blue skirt, wearing blue sandals around her feet.

"Yay!" Sakura said in turn, her salmon hair kept from her face with a red ribbon tied in her hair, wearing a green dress with sleeves reaching her forearms, the bottom part of the skirt had pink sakura petals climbing around the material.

"Uh guys, isn't she the hokage's daughter? What about Yota." Shikamaru said and Hinami looked over,

"She won't tell! Right Hinami!" Naruto said with his fists by his sides as he looked towards the group, before looking over at Hinami who shook her head,

"Nuh uh. I won't. Promise. He's way too busy to actually notice anything anyway. honest!" Hinami said in response looking over, shaking her head, Shikamaru rubbed the back of his head looking over before shrugging his shoulders looking over towards the girl

"So another one in our group, ah what a drag." Shikamaru said, rubbing the back of his head, his black hair in a spiked ponytail while he wore a gray shirt with the Nara clan's symbol on the front, wearing black pants on his thighs.

"Hey hey! Welcome in!" Choji said jovially his red hair spiking around his head wearing a green jacket with a seafoam green collar and shoulders, wearing gray pants. Eating a bag of chips. Waving over briefly as he looked over towards her. Hinami grinned looking over as she waved.

"We're keeping Yota hidden from the village, so you gotta keep it secret too, okay cousin." Naruto said looking towards Hinami, his blonde hair spiking around his head wearing a short sleeve white shirt with the namikaze symbol on the front, wearing blue shorts, the girl nodded. Looking towards the boy seriously, she was ready to help them with whatever they needed to hide Yota.

"Okay…" She said, agreeing to keep the boy a secret from everyone, except for their small group. Naruto pulled her arms laughing, and Hinami looked towards him for a moment, the two spinning in the field as the other kids danced and laughed around them.

"Hey you should grow the flowers, come on!" Naruto said and Hinami nodded, placing her hands on the ground, a few yellow daffodils sprouted in the dirt beneath the tree,

"That's so cool!" the kids exclaimed,

"I can only grow stuff I know." she said

"Let's have a picnic Yota, come on." Naruto said the group ate a small amount of food they'd brought with them, laughing as they played with Yota and entertained themselves. This continued for a few days, but, like everything else, it wouldn't last forever.

"I should go to a different part of the forest, when they find me, so they don't find Yota. I'll try and come when I can get away from training and stuff." Hinami said and the kids waved her off, Hinami running down the forest, finding a small clearing where she grew more flowers and crouched in the field.

"Found you. So this is where you were." Neji said walking over to the girl before sitting down, Hinami looked over before looking down,

"I'm sorry I ran from training… Are you mad?" Hinami said looking over and Neji hummed in response, before shaking his head,

"You were crying." He commented, looking at her face, wiping one of the tears with his finger, the seven year old looked at the six, Hinami looked away from the boy for a moment.

"Everyone else has a destiny, Hinata's gonna lead the hyuga, Kiyoka's gonna lead the senju, you're gonna protect Hinata or something, but I don't. I train all the time, but I don't know what I'm supposed to do." Hinami said, before looking over at Neji who sat next to her, the boy looked over seriously, bandages around his forehead to hide the cursemark.

"I'll help you find your destiny." Neji said laying on the grass with Hinami, his black hair reaching his waist with a small holder on the bottom, wearing black training clothing with black sandals around his feet looking towards Hinami,

"Is it weird, that sometimes, I wish we could trade places brother Neji. You know what you're supposed to do, and you're strong." Hinami said looking to the sky a moment, before nudging her shoulder against Neji's and Neji looked over humming in response a moment,

"No way. You and Hinata are strong too! I'll help you be strong." Neji said before grabbing her hands

"You mean it?" Hinami said in question and Neji nodded assured, and Hinami nodded in return a grin,

"Okay!" She said before hugging Neji the boy hugging her back, as yellow flowers bloomed in the field, the flowers in her hair changing to match, Neji looking back towards the girl, patting her head a moment, a soft smile on his face as she looked back towards him.

"the flowers changed" He pointed out, and Hinami looked over, before grinning, it happened whenever she felt a strong emotion, looking towards Neji a moment in excitement and Neji raised an eyebrow, looking towards her.

"I have an idea, Wait here okay?" She said and Neji gave a noncommittal shrug before the girl jumped on the field, before coming back over and placing the flowers on Neji's head, the boy glancing over in question, Hinami giggling a moment,

"Now we match. Hey, do you think Fairies have tails or pointed ears?" She said with a grin, and Neji grinned looking back over, before laughing,

"You mean like the fairytails?" Neji questioned and Hinami nodded

"Yeah! What do you think? You think I could find one someday?" Hinami questioned and Neji hummed, before nodding,

"Perhaps… We do have to go back to the compound, to complete the training for today." Neji commented and Hinami sighed,

"Yeah.. I know. I'm not looking forward to another lecture though." Hinami said and Neji looked over,

"Prolonging it will only make it worse, you know that. Come on," Neji said in return and the girl nodded, heading back to the compound with Neji. The boy taking her hand and leading her back, he was like their big brother, a role he tried taking seriously.

Over the next week, Hinami worked diligently at her training, during every break, she would head into the forest from either the Senju or Hyuga compounds. Hanging out with Naruto, Shikamaru, Choji, Sakura, Ino, and Yota. The boy was so interesting and fun to be around, he also had a strong power that he couldn't always control the best, the weather which was linked to his emotions. Just as the flowers in Hinami's hair would change colors based on strong emotions. Whenever she was asked about where she went in the forest, she merely told the adults that she and Naruto and some other kids made some new game that they were playing in the forest, leaving it at that.

"Hinami! Can you make these flowers? I brought a book from home." Ino said opening a violet covered book and passing it to Hinami the girl looked over before reading the book, Hinami looked at the flower, reading the description of it a moment before lifting her hand to the trees leaves nearby,

"Ohhhh, yeah." She said reading everything the book had to offer, Ino was asking if she could grow wisteria flowers, the purple buds hand from trees. Hinami placed her hand on one of the tree's leaves, the soft green resting against her tan palm, one wisteria flower blooming where her hand touched.

"I can't do a lot cause it uses chakra and they'll be able to track it and see it with the byakugan." Hinami said and the kids looked in awe at the flowers, birds and a few bees coming up to admire the new blooms,

"Your power is incredible." Sakura said looking at the flowers on the trees,

"Hey, so, do you like anyone at the academy, like Sasuke?" Ino questioned and Hinami looked over, Sakura seemed intent on knowing this answer as well,

"He's a cocky buffoon. No, I don't have romantic feelings for Sasuke Uchiha, or anyone else in the village. I'm more focused on my studies and training. You guys want Sasuke, you can have him." Hinami said looking over, making a face as she responded to the question, the kids running around the field with Yota, playing tag and hide and seek and the like, before returning to their homes. Little did they know how much would change just two days later.

"Yota!" Sakura said as she and the other kids, minus Hinami ran up to the forest, where Yota was staying. This was right after the academy so Hinami had her training with the Hyuga, she would meet them later though. They walked up the path towards the run-down cabin, finding the daffodils and flowers that Hinami'd grown around the base of the rundown cabin were dead and trampled, the door to the clubhouse torn open, Yota nowhere to be found. Hinami was currently unaware of the circumstances, as she was training with the hyuga, training against Neji, the 7 year old going harshly against her. Hinami training just as hard. Unaware of the dire situation that Yota was in. The two going back and forth in gentle fist.

"Not running off today?" Neji said in question and the girl looked towards him, before looking towards the ground a moment, before looking back towards him, her black hair was down behind her head, reaching her waist, holding her hand out for gentle fist.

"I… If I keep running, I won't get stronger brother Neji." She said in return and Neji hummed in response, sending his palm towards her chest, the girl dodging to the side, hitting his arm before hitting his chest. The two panting form the training, Hiashi stood at the front of the room, with Hinata who were observing their sparring, kneeling on the ground near the head of the hyuga clan.

"Again!" Hiashi called, Neji getting back to his feet, Hinami standing across from him, prepared, her palm up in front of her as they were taught with her other palm by her waist, her stance spread ever so slightly out.

"This should be interesting." He said as he did so, Hinami and Neji activating the byakugan once more, standing across from eachother, bringing up their hands for gentle fist, Hinami moving out of the way of Neji's palm, only to be hit by his second palm coming down, sliding across the ground, the girl got to her feet, avoiding Neji's arm. Bringing her palm closer towards his face forcing him to block before hitting his abdomen with her palm, Neji sliding back before smirking, looking towards her.

"Well, you seem to be learning." Neji said towards the girl, sending his palm forwards at the same time as the girl, sending her palm into his chest and chin, sending him back once more. Panting as she remained standing.

"Good. You two are dismissed." Hiashi said a few moments later, Hinami bowing in thanks, thanking Neji for sparring with her. Before heading to change out of her training clothes, wearing a light blue short sleeve shirt with a black skirt, wearing shorts underneath, with pink zori on her feet, heading out of the Hyuga compound.

"There you are, Hinami." Naruto said as he approached with the others, she looked to them a moment in confusion, asking what was wrong, looking at their faces. Being told about Yota, he was taken by the village. They had to act fast, Shikamaru and Hinami were the smartest of the group, coming up with something together wasn't easy. It was a risky plan, but they had to try. The group was still in shock on how the child was found none of them had told their parents or adults about Yota.

"Alright, lets go. Naruto, Choji, Sakura, and I will get Yota, the distractions up to you guys." Shikamaru said, and Hinami nodded in return, before looking to Ino, the two walking forwards, talking to eachother

"Hey mr. Whos onomonopea?" Hinami said looking towards the Anbu who startled,

"Yeah! Do you know!" Ino said looking towards him,

"Hey, you kids shouldn't be here. Return to the village, Princess Hinami." The Anbu said in response, and Hinami looked over,

"But I'm just asking a question.." She said in response, Ino running up towards her before screaming,

"Snake!!!" Ino said Hinami screamed in turn, the Anbu trying to catch the two girls, while the others snuck in, and rescued Yota,

"What's all the screaming?" Orochimaru said stepping from the interrogation room, looking towards the two kids, his black hair behind his head, wearing a purple kimono with a green belt

"Uncle! There's a snake!" Hinami said jumping onto the man who stumbled a moment before glancing over towards her, humming a moment,

"A snake? In here?" He questioned, as if on cue, the small garden snake made itself known on the wall, slithering down towards the ground, Ino screaming again, Hinami holding tightly to the mans clothing,

"It's quite alright, this snake isn't out to harm either of you. But lets leave the AnBu to their work." Orochimaru said leading the children away.

"Are you sure it's not going to bite… like really truly 100% suuuuper sure Uncle." Hinami said in question, and Orochimaru nodded as he put the snake in the grass,

"Go on, your friends are waiting for you." he said looking towards the two, kneeling down helping Hinami off his back,

"Okay! Thanks mr." Ino said grabbing a confused Hinami's wrist, running towards the forest, with her, Orochimaru watching in amusement, 'so, you've managed to finally make a few friends… huh, Hinami? Though, you're probably going to get into trouble for sneaking into the interrogation room and taking Yota, a prisoner out of the room. How interesting you children are.' Orochimaru thought as he watched them run off towards the forest line, Hinami having trouble keeping up with the other girl.

"It's a big river, but none of us know how to walk on water yet." Hinami said looking towards the raging river in front of them, the bridge was broken, breaking precisely in the middle, the kids stood on the shoreline,

"Come on! We gotta get him out of the village, lets try!" Naruto said

"Right!" The kids agreed, they jumped from rock to rock, holding onto Yota's hands, before Naruto and Hinami slipped and fell into the river, the currents pulling them under and knocking them every which way, Yota using his power to pull them both from the river. Hinami and Naruto opened their eyes.

"You got hurt because of Yota. It would be better if we never met." Yota said through tears as he had his hands on the ground, the kids denied it, shaking their heads as they placed their hands over Yotas, before a spark erupted from Yota's hand, all of the kids passing out on the ground. All of them soaking wet,

"I found them! Over here!" Hadami yelled as she jumped down from the treeline, with Minato, Choza, Inoichi, Rin Nohara, and Shukaku. Her violet hair was down behind her head, wearing a violet kimono with a blue haori overtop jumping onto the clearing in front of the raging river, which, due to the storm was even more tumultuous. All of the kids were passed out on the shoreline, their hands in the middle

"They're soaked, don't tell me they fell into that river…" Hadami said lifting Hinami from the ground, as the rest did the same to the other kids. Naruto and Hinami were soaked to the bone, while the others were mildly soaked. The adults looked towards them a moment before taking them home. Naruto and Hinami ended up catching a small cold and couldnt recall anything that'd happened, their routines from then on returned to normal. Or well, what it was before, Hinami continued to train and study, none of the kids could really be considered her friends either.
