DxD 7 – After Breakfast’s Questioning

Breakfast was normal, after eating his meal with Zella, and Zell. Who did looked like they wanted to say something to Gunnar. However, due to Marius and his goons, as well two other girls, that nearly the same age as Marius. Zella and Zell didn't say anything. Leaving Gunnar slightly confused by their actions, since Zella not once throughout the meal, left her gaze from Gunnar.

And Wanda Wirth, the owner of this orphanage notices this.

'Something going between the twins, and Gunnar? Maybe I should talk with Gunnar after breakfast, he also seems differently than normal.' Miss Wirth thought, as she looked at Gunnar who is chatting with Zella, and her twin brother, Zell. Without caring about Marius's wary gaze.

After all, the normal aloof and indifference Gunnar is nowhere to be seen. Of course, Gunnar himself, notice his actions is getting him unwanted attention. But Gunnar, even in his past life, is someone who lived true to his nature.

He gets why the Gunnar before reawakening his past life memories, acted like he didn't care, and wary of others. His parents just died, and he has to learn the hard truth in this world. That a parentless child, has it rough, even when he arrived at the orphanage, Marius tried to control him, and he doesn't like to be told by others, besides his parents, to be told what to do. 2 years ago, when Gunnar was 4 years old, and Marius 7 years old. Fought nearly all the time, and Zella and Zell stay with the cold Gunnar, that felt like everyone is after him. It was only then, did he learn, there are still people out there for him. Which is why Zell and Zella, as well their caretaker, Miss Wirth is important to Gunnar.

To Gunnar, Miss Wirth, is no different to a grandmother to him. And that also goes the same, with Zell and Zella, who felt like real siblings to him. And that feeling, didn't go away, even when Gunnar regained his past memories, and the Abyssal Power dwelling within him.

But that didn't mean, he going to remain how he was. No, it is impossible, due to Gunnar's past life personality, is not only he is more mature than this life's. But also, Gunnar himself, is somewhat opened person, he is not afraid to tell what he thinks to others, as long it doesn't get him into too much trouble. Or hurt that person, if he doesn't mind them.

If he hates them, or a stranger to him? He will troll them, bait them to hit him. Well, that is due to the sole fact, when he was rotting away in his bedroom in his past life. Waiting for his body to shut down due to his illness. He only had online friends. Some are close to him, and most are fake.

And he actually likes to troll people, especially to people he dislike. He felt alive when he talks like normal and take the piss sometimes as well. He felt normal when he did that, which become a part of his personality.

After eating breakfast, Gunnar, and the twins was about to leave the dinner room, until Miss Wirth stopped them, or more like, stop Gunnar.

"Gunnar sweetie, can you help me with the cleaning?" Miss Wirth asked. Making the twins and Gunnar stop in their tracks.

"Hmm? Sure, I don't mind, Miss Wirth." Gunnar went with a smile, and turned his face to Zell, and his twin sister, Zella.

"Sorry guys, go on without me." Gunnar went with a sorry smile.

"Don't worry! We help as well!" Zella went, as she is willing to help Miss Wirth and Gunnar.

"No, there no need to trouble yourself, dearly, I just want a moment of Gunnar time. And Zell already helped me earlier, which I am thankful for. Now, go on you two, it wouldn't be long before Gunnar joins you two." Miss Wirth went with her kind smile.

"B-But…!" However, Zella tried to resist, but failed, as her twin brother put his hand on her shoulder.

"Come on, sister. I am sure brother Gunnar be fine, right?" Zell went.

"Zell is right, Zella, I be fine! See you later, okay?" Gunnar went with a smile, which Zella had no clue to go with her twin brother. She still wanted to question Gunnar about his sudden change earlier, but it had to wait. Which is why she left while pouting her cheeks very cutely, when she did leave alongside Zell, who show a wry smile on his lips. And sighed, seeing his sister leaving, not causing any more trouble. Of course, the sole reason why Zella listens, is because she is afraid that Miss Wirth will tell her off again.

When the twins left, Gunnar went to help Miss Wirth, and took the dishes back to the kitchen. And on his way to the kitchen alongside Miss Wirth, he cannot help to look at her, and asked this…

"Did I do something wrong?" Gunnar went.

"When did it come punishment, when it comes to helping this old lady?" Miss Wirth joked.

"No, I am happy I can help, you know Miss Wirth, I do anything, if it means to put less burden on your shoulders." Gunnar went with a genuine smile, with no false words came out his mouth. Since that's how much this old woman matters to Gunnar. Who too care of him in these last two years.

"Oh my, you already have such way with your words, you will be quite a lady killer when you grow up~ Now, now, it is true this old lady did want you to help, but I also wanted to ask if everything all okay? You seem different than normal, Gunnar. Did something happened?" Miss Wirth went, as Gunnar can feel her kind, and genuine care behind her gaze.

"It's nothing much really… it just, I don't think my parents, that are in heaven, will want me to stay like this… I thought I must change myself. So, I tried to be more opened, maybe is it too soon, Miss Wirth?" Of course, that's half a lie. But also, half-truth, since Gunnar before reawakening his memories, did wanted to change himself, but didn't know how to.

But Gunnar, who has 21 years of extra experience inside him. Knew the answer, how he can move on from his dead parents. After all, experiencing death, can change anyone, especially when it comes to how they see things. And Gunnar, who always been true to himself in his past life. Even until the end, stay true who he is.

It because of those two things, that made Gunnar felt like he could move on the death of his parents. And those two things are simple. One is his otaku soul within him, that wanted to see this world of DxD first hand. And the other thing that made Gunnar moved on, is knowing how dangerous this world is. He wanted to become as powerful as he can. And he wanted to become that powerful before the canon started.

However, all Gunnar knows, that canon of Highschool DxD might already began. Since he still lacking information about this world. Hopefully, like all fanfic he read. He will be the same age as the protagonist, or so he hopes.

'I want to make the most of this second life… and live with no regrets. Even if in the end, I be seen as a monster, as long I find people that look at me, who I am. I don't care, how the world sees me as. I be who I am, until the day I die.' Gunnar thought. While Miss Wirth nodded her head in understanding.

"I see, that is wonderful, little Gunnar. I am sure, they will be delighted to hear that. Make sure to informed Zella and Zell of this. You change all of the sudden. They will or not be freak out by this. But one thing I am sure, this will create a raft between you guys, if you don't clear any misunderstandings. It be understandable if you change slowly, but if you change all the sudden, without reason, that can make other worries, I am sure little Gunnar is not dense enough, to not notice that?" Miss Wirth went, showing her wisdom.

"No, I actually going to tell them right after this… since I don't want to worry my new family. Nor you Miss Wirth." Gunnar went.

"Fufu, look at you, with your words, if I was 70 years younger, maybe I be one of your many to come victims, little Gunnar." Miss Wirth laughed, which did caused Gunnar to sweat heavily. Since that might happened one day, since that how good-looking Gunnar is.

He only six years old, and he already has such a sinful appearance. He looks no different to a doll with black hair, and sea blue eyes. What will happened when his looks matured to the fullest? His beautiful features turned into deadly sinister level beauty, that can cause any naïve woman to instantly fall for him, with his looks alone.

'Maybe I should change myself to look gloomy. I do like the sound of, the gloomy looking guy, is in fact has such devilish looks under that dull style of his.' Gunnar thought that. He knew with his looks in the future, getting a woman to his bed, is a lot easier, with his looks. But he didn't want his first time with a woman, to be clouded because of his outer looks, not what he is like from the inside.

That doesn't mean Gunnar has no pride in his looks. He just knows from all the anime, and fanfics he seen and read. One's appearance is not always a good thing. Being very handsome, get lead not only to many horny women, who are naïve not to look past his appearance. But also, jealously from others as well. He doesn't want this unnecessary attention to himself.

Plus, the otaku side of Gunnar, likes it when main characters, or side characters who are very gloomy looking. But once they removed them gloominess from themselves. they actually god damn gorgeous people. He always wanted to see someone like that. And to think he can play that role!

"Now, now, let's get back to cleaning, once you done with that. Get ready Gunnar, today is the first day of school for you, isn't it?" When Miss Wirth said those words, made Gunnar slapped out of it, when his Otaku soul took over him just now. And recalled something he forgot.

'Oh… right, isn't today the first day of school?' Gunnar went, with a bitter smile. Even if he is an orphan. By the law, Gunnar still has to go to school, and get his education. When Gunnar thought he has to deal with children, even if he okay with the twins. But mentally, Gunnar is 27 years old. So, knowing he has to deal with kids around 6 or so, made Gunnar very willing to run away from home. Since he already knew everything, the school has to offer besides history. Since this is a different country, that Gunnar was in his last life.
