DxD 6 – The Twin’s Suspicions

After explaining to not only to Zella, but also Zell, her twin brother. About the lie of the events about his clothing is ripped. And also, the so-called red paint on his white t-shirt as well. When Gunnar was done with his explanation of the two matters.

Due to the fact, Gunnar is now mentally 27 years old on the inside. he informed the twins, he will get dressed in the bathroom, by grabbing some clothing, and left the confused twins, as he headed towards the bathroom.

"Bathroom… why is Gunnar dressing in the bathroom??" Zella went, as she didn't understand why Gunnar. Who normally doesn't care if he is naked before the twins, since themselves also didn't mind at all. Didn't want to get naked before them. After all, the three of them are still little kids. Who doesn't understand such complicated matters of different sexes yet.

Which is why, Gunnar's actions confused, not only Zella, but also Zell himself. Since the twins are too young to even be thinking of such matters between two genders.

"Maybe he needed the toilet?" Zell informed, as Zella glance at the door, that Gunnar left through. And felt something is not right. But since her mind still that of a 6-year-old. She shakes her head and turns to face her twin brother.

"Poo? Maybe a pee?" Zella said out loud.

"Huh!? S-Sister… remember Miss Wirth said, that a lady shouldn't speak like that!" Zell went with a worried voice.

"But I am still a little girl! I'll not a lady!" Zella yelled, as she got into a simple blue dress, and even wore some kind of shorts under her dress, so Miss Wirth will not complain if someone sees her panties. Even if Zella herself, still doesn't get it, why she should bother with the little details like these.

"Never mind that, you think Gunnar acting strange, right?" Zella asked her twin brother. Who nodded before saying anything.

"Yeah… he said he was playing outside… brother Gunnar doesn't like going outside… and painting… brother Gunnar doesn't like that either, right? He often likes reading, but playing… and his clothing ripped… he not hurt, right?" Zell timidly asked.

"There are no wounds on him! But it is odd... there also no dirt on them as well… shouldn't his clothing be dirty, right?" Zella went, knowing full well, since she is somewhat like a tomboy herself. Knows there no way, for Gunnar's clothes to be like that, when he went outside, with no dirt on them.

"Maybe he cleaned them before becoming here?" Zell said, since there still that possibility.

"That is weird… maybe something going on with brother Gunnar… I hope it not Marius, and his goons again… u-unlike you and Gunnar… I am not good, when it comes to fighting…" Zell went, knowing Marius is no simple orphan in this orphanage.

"Gunnar say it wasn't him… maybe it is something else? Ahh! My head hurts thinking too much… let's ask Gunnar later, even if we had to pinned him down, to know the truth!" Zella went with a proud smile, which Zell only smile wry, knowing there no stopping this girl now. Once she made up her mind.

While the twins were speaking about Gunnar's odd behaviour. Gunnar himself, made his way to the bathroom. There are two bathrooms on the second floor. One in the hallway, and the other inside Miss Wirth's personal room.

When Gunnar reached the bathroom, Gunnar stopped all of the sudden. Feeling a gaze on him. He even can tell that gaze has no good intentions towards him. Which made Gunnar confused why he felt like it was like that. But thinking about his abyss-like powers he has. It made sense.

After all, if one looks at the Abyss, the Abyss will look back right at you. And since Gunnar has an Abyss within him. His Abyssal Power is informing someone is looking at him, and even showing their intentions towards him, as well.

'Does that mean… I am immune to sneak attacks… since I can feel them sneaking if they look at me, and their intentions towards me, if they want to kill or spy on me. Interesting…' Feeling delighted of this power he has. Since is a very useful in many kinds of situations.

Gunnar doesn't need to guess, who the one has ill intentions towards him. There only three people in this orphanage that dislike Gunnar. Which is why Gunnar didn't do anything, even if he can feel their gazes on him. He even can tell the number of gazes on him, increased from one to three. And Gunnar will be a fool, if he doesn't know who they are.

"What the girly doing? Are you going to put on some makeup on, aren't you?" Went a rough boy's voice from behind.

"Marius, I am sorry to inform you this, but I run out of makeup, since you have none left." Gunnar went with a grin, as he turned his head towards the three boys, who looked startled. Not just by Gunnar's remark, that not only admitted he wears makeup, but also saying where he gets it from the tall thick looking boy.

But what shocked the three boys, especially the middle one, Marius himself. Who has dark brown hair, and tall for a nine year older. Was because, Gunnar who always aloof, and has expressionless eyes, looked at Marius, and his goons. With eyes that felt different. They felt the one before them, is not Gunnar they know, but a different person.

However, Marius the thick tall boy soon shakes his head. As he recalls what Gunnar just said.

"I don't have makeup!!" Marius went.

"Yeah, yeah, don't worry I won't tell anyone, about that. Make sure you put 'it' away, okay?" Gunnar went with an indifferent gaze, and turned back, and headed inside the bathroom to get changed.

"Put what away! I tell you, you bastard, I don't own any makeup!" Marius shouted, as he was about to ram into the bathroom. However, Gunnar locked it before he could. Even if Marius is strong for his age. He doesn't have the strong to rip off a door. Since he only nine years old.

"That bastard… something wrong with him…" Marius went.

"Bro… don't you notice his clothing is torn?" One of Marius's two goons said that. Was a seven-year-old kid, who has strange thick teeth.

"Torn…? Now you mention it… it was…" Marius went, as he not really interested in why Gunnar has such torn jumper on him. Instead, he is more interested in why isn't Gunnar who is normally aloof, and indifferent to everyone, besides the caretaker, Wanda Wirth, and the twins, Zella and Zell. Speak like that just now.

"Did he eat something funny?" Went the other goon, who might not be tall as Marius. But his fat is thicker than him. Who also eight years old.

"Hmm, did eat one of those mushrooms in the forest…? Miss Wirth always warned us not to eat random mushrooms." Went the thick teeth goon.

"Who cares… I will get him later… that asshole… he thinks he the one in change here… I show you, as the oldest, and the strongest, I the one that rule this place! You hear!" Marius went, as if he some gangster, and walked away with his two goonies. That followed behind him, like a mother hen, being followed by her chicks.

On the other side of the door. Gunnar who overheard Marius and the others. Since one, his senses are greater after devouring those three trees. And two, Marius and his goons are not what one will call quiet. Overheard their conversation and frowned.

'Something wrong… I am fine… right? No, the original Gunnar is like cat. He wary of strangers. When he came to this orphanage, he was even cold towards the twins, as well Miss Wirth. However, their warmth towards Gunnar made him opened up to them. But he still cold towards the others, with expressionless look on his face, just like a doll, which matches his appearance.'

Gunnar thought that while he looked at the mirror. Even he taken back, how doll-like he is. He is very beautiful, to the point many women in the future will not be able to remove their eyes away from him. Many will fall in love stupidly, just but his sinful looks.

'Zella and the others are still kids… they don't have hormones developed enough, to make their mind clouded. Even my skin is very smooth… is it normal for a boy to look like this…? Should I cut my hair… no… I can't… this hair… is the only reminder I have from mother…' Gunnar, even if he different to the Gunnar from yesterday, due to his memories reawakening.

First breakfast, find some way to sneak to the forest… and carry on devouring… no, I shouldn't keep doing that, few trees are fine… what if I happened to devour the whole forest, there no way people will not notice a whole forest disappearing… but what should I do…?"

Gunnar said his thoughts out loud, as he used his Abyssal Power, and formed a black like mist, which devoured his torn clothing. It is a rule to place your dirty clothing in the basket in the bathroom. But he can't do that, since Miss Wirth will find his torn clothing, and that old woman will worry, and question Gunnar why his clothing is like this.

And he knows, he cannot devour much in this orphan, besides the trees next to it. But he if kept on devouring the forest, there no way no one will not notice that.

It's not like the forest is a popular place to begin with. It just best for Gunnar, he doesn't drawn unwanted attention towards himself.

'It does not like I have many options… I keep on devouring some more tress, and other sources of lifeforce. To become stronger… but I need more than just an increase of strength, I need to explore what else I can do with this Abyssal Power. And… knowledge of other things like Magic and martial arts. I don't know if I can use Abyssal Power like mana, and fuel it to use spells. But it is useful for me to know Magic, when it comes to Devils, and other beings that often use Magic and spells to begin with.'

After all, this world is not safe. Stronger he becomes, safer Gunnar will be. And it not like devouring some more trees will draw attention to him right away. But devouring a mass load of trees at once or devouring a lot in one area. Will draw unwanted attention to himself. And he cannot do that, he needed to stay low-key, until he is strong enough to defend himself from the dangers of DxD.

"Well, I think more about it after breakfast. Better hurry, before either Zella or Miss Wirth break into here." Gunnar said that, as he got dressed, and left for the dining room.
