Hibiscus Highs

"Here I quit!" Weston exclaimed, nodding his head the other way from the teammates, looking at the basketball net with watery eyelashes. The teammates had no courage to even empathize with him as his passion for the game resonated none of theirs. The other roads waited for him, now he had to leave the basketball court. With slow steps he started walking, the strain continued to be acute and numbness felt like an oasis to all the pain together. Miss. Henson would be baking pastries this evening, so unbothered by her son's agony, she never supported his football fanaticism anyway. In fact no one ever did. Last two weeks had made 'Achilles tendonitis' a word of honor. Weston smiled at those pretending to know what it means when they would ask him about the accident. Passing by the riverside, he saw a girl interviewing some poor labor workers at the bridge that was still under construction. Her vibrant artsy tunic glimmered from far too. Weston thought of seeing what was going on there, as he approached she began keeping her notepad in the bag. "Hello!" he said. Stroking her mischievous turquoise highlighted strand and hairs with an appealing smile she said "Hello!I am Kuls and you seem a sportsman, an injured sportsman, are you?. Weston was amazed seeing her observantness. He said " I am sure my jersey and ankle are even friendlier than I am, they spoke to you before I did, I am Weston" smilingly. They began to walk near the riverside. All this water in the river yet the evening felt so dry. Kuls went again in the bag, right next to the notepad there was a bottle which was bluer than the sky itself. Weston exclaimed "Wow, the color is too interesting", On which Kuls asked him to taste it saying that it tastes like a potion. It was the freshly grounded Hibiscus tea, a remedy for such evenings. Weston loved the taste, sipping it he said "I see folks too absorbed in themselves, seeing you interviewing those labores has left me with millions of questions" Looking into his eyes, the interviewer said "Neither the stratas of society nor the question, I never leave anyone. Sociologists and social workers do not and should not"

Weston could not have guessed any of that they both knew. Somehow he felt an urge to tell her and he went ahead with it "An accident and unsupportiveness from those around me could not stop me from playing football but this cruel alliance of these made me stop it, I cannot cope with this end. Patting his shoulder Kuls said "New beginnings, changes and adaptability, we deal with all of it, i could assure that what is gone is gone for good" It was late in the evening already, they both needed to rush home but what was needed was not wanted. Exchanging the numbers they left home with the thrill of new beginnings.
