Returning home

C came to the underground parking lot and then looked towards the cafeteria and was amazed to see the decorations as well as the number of customers.

C sat down at one corner and was busy texting Sophie and was at times, smiling while looking at his phone screen. Sophie was making fun of him. 'That childish girl!', he mentally chided her.

While waiting for them, he ordered a cappuccino with skimmed milk with a bit of cinnamon for himself, and a waiter delivered the cappuccino to him and watched him for a while. His intuition told him that someone was watching him but when he turned around, he found no one.

He was staring at his phone but was secretly vigilant. After a while, he found that the waiter was staring at him, although he was busy with his work. C did not understand why someone would stare at him in such a way.

He texted Sophie and asked her to hurry. He sipped on the cappuccino. Meanwhile Sophie came downstairs along with Ruby, who was dressed in a ruby red shirt paired with a dark grey pencil skirt. Her hair was tied into a ponytail. She wore red pencil heels which matched her skirt. She was wearing a rose gold watch and carrying a red handbag in her left hand and had a beautiful bracelet on her right hand. Seeing her like that ignited something within him. A certain part of him started reacting. He counted backwards from 100 and took deep breaths and then moved forward. Sophie was wearing a white sleeveless shirt paired with blue jeans and off-white stilettos. Her hair was tied into a bun, and wore big round earrings.

"Hey buddy, why so early?"

"Shut up. But tell me one thing Soph, who are these guys?"

"I asked Timothy to open a cafeteria. These two persons are his acquaintances, and he brought them here today in the morning.

"Soph, don't these two guys look familiar to you?"

"These two guys not only look familiar, you know them as well."

"What, why can't I recognize them?"

"Coz they have hidden themselves well."

"Let's head to our home, I'll tell you more about it later."

"Home?"

"Why? Do you have plans of going on a date?"

"Huh?", C was speechless and Ruby started blushing furiously.

They glared at Sophie together and the one responsible for embarrassing them was looking at everywhere else other than them.

C hit Sophie playfully on her head and said, "You brat!! DO you have any problem if I go out on a date with your Vice President?". He did not forget to give a flirtatious look to Ruby.

"Arghh!! Don't give that look in front of me. It makes me want to vomit!", Sophie made a face, as if she really was disgusted and made a vomiting gesture.

"You!", C was incensed, but could not bring himself to scold this girl, especially when the person he clearly likes is standing in front of him.

"Okay, okay, enough of dillydallying, let's make a move. Come on, I won't ruin your date today. You just need to see what I'll show you. You both can go on a date, and I shall be going with all other friends of mine. Okay? Happy? Now let's go."

Sophie threw the car keys to C ,asking him to drive, and then turned to Ruby and said, "You better sit beside him, as I'm very tired and need to rest a while." She did not wait for an answer, and immediately went to sit at the back. She kept her laptop and papers beside her and then closed her eyes to rest for a while. Ruby smiled seeing her acting this way. She knew why she said all those words. 'Silly girl!', she mentally scolded her for overacting.
