JANE

They walked to the dining room, and Roger found himself a spot to sit in the room. "So, how did you get to Coast City Janet?" He asked calmly as he sat on one of the chairs.

"Jane, call me Jane," Fiona cut in quickly.

Roger laughed revealing some set of cracked teeth.

"You are something else when it comes to your name,"

"How did you find me?" She asked.

"I was lucky, Don't worry, Samson doesn't know about our meeting and I distracted the others, I told them to go to Rein to look for you, they believe you are even dead but look at you all vibrant!" He smirked saying.

He then looked up, Fiona was whining in pain holding her tummy as she leaned against the wall.

"Do you have a first aid box?" Roger asked.

She showed him where it was.

"You are still healing, when you get better, call me, you don't want me coming here when your newfound family is around, Do you?" Roger asked as he staunched the bleeding and redressed the wound.

"We have no time" he added.

He walked to the kitchen then he heard her ask.

"What are you going to do about me?"

"Depends on how you cooperate," He answered.

Opening the door, he left.

_ESTON CITY_

Five men knelt in front of a man in an empty dark shack. In that small room, the only source of light was the reflection of the sun piercing through the door and window holes.

"Boss, we searched the entire town of Eston, including Rein, and we found no trace of her or her body," one of them trembled.

A white-haired, brown-skinned man with his back against them held a cigarette, puffed the smoke out of his mouth, and turned to face them.

"Did you inspect the sewage?" he inquired.

"Yes, we checked there as well," They replied.

"Drake, take these men with you and go check again; I need to see her or her body before evening," He ordered the huge one.

"Boss Samson, if we keep looking, your father will learn that someone went missing in the basement," Drake said calmly.

Samson gave them a dangerous look and sighed.

"Go!" He shouted biting his lower lip in frustration.

The five men looked at each other confused.

"Boss?"

"I said Go! I will call you later," He ordered.

They hurriedly stood up and left the room.

"Oww! That was close, Dave did you search the sewage?" Drake asked the dark guy near him as they approached their car.

"No, of course, I will die instantly if I go near there" he replied.

The three of them except Drake chuckled.

"You will die if he finds out you didn't check there," Drake said with a grim.

"We will all die someday" Dave teased.

The three guys except Drake broke into laughter.

"Don't say I didn't warn you" Drake said entering the Driver's seat.

Samson sighed as they left, he threw the cigarette he was holding and smashed it with his feet. He removed his cell phone and made a call.

"Roger, when will you be back? These worthless shits you left here aren't getting closer to finding Jane," he said as the call connected.

A voice replied from the other end of the phone, "Sam, I don't think she survived,"

"She might be alive," Samson pressed on.

"It's two days already, If she is still alive, I would have found her or her body by now," Roger argued.

"I must see her body first to agree with that," He didn't want to believe what they were saying happened to Jane.

"And when will you come back?" Samson asked.

"Mr. Mairo is proving stubborn so let's say next week"

"Be fast and come back, I need you to find Jane,"

"Alright, Sam,"

As he disconnected the call, He lay on the couch in the room, he couldn't think straight since Jane's disappearance. He thought Jane loved him and wanted to stay with him.

He was happy that someone finally loves him, then the bomb blew off, She was only using him, and even at that, he regretted ever hitting her, he was intoxicated that night and had beaten her mercilessly. How did she find the strength to escape? he wondered. "Boss" A petite, but well built called on him

"What?"

"Your dad, Mr. Raven is here,"

The mention of Father's name sent deep shivers to him.

"I'm coming," He said quietly

The man nodded and left.

Samson stood up and left the shack, to meet his Dad.

"Did you deliver the package to Rein?"A fair man with black hair asked in a deep husky voice.

"Yes Father," Samson replied.

"I have to attend a medical conference tomorrow, so I need you to collect the new ones from the port "

"Ok Father," He nodded.

"Samson, have you been taking C30 recently?" His dad asked still concentrating on his phone.

"No," He bowed his head answering.

"Don't lie to me! The smell is all over you, stop taking it!" Raven shouted staring at him

"Yes, yes Father," Samson stuttered.

"Good! now get off my car,"

Samson quickly got out of the car, he gave a sigh of relief as the car drove off.

_COAST CITY_

After Roger left, Fiona lay down on the couch.

"Thank God Roger is somehow good at medics," She thought, he saved her,

Should she trust him?

Or she should just run away to another city and hide?

What of Eric?

Questions kept popping into her head.

The sound of the doorbell jolted her from her thoughts.

"Fiona," Samuel called out as he knocked.

"Damn, has he been knocking?" She stood up and quickly went to open the door, then she stopped, she narrowed her gaze to the dining room.

Lying on the table were a pistol and a piece of paper.

"What!" She exclaimed, running to the dining table and quickly carrying the items to her room.

"I am coming!" She shouted back as she ran to her room and hid the items.

"What took you so long?" Samuel asked as she opened the door.

"Sorry, I didn't hear you knocking?" She lied.

"It's okay, Have you eaten?" He asked, entering the kitchen.

"I slept off, so I haven't," she replied following him.

"I will prepare something for you, Did you open the back door?" he asked noticing the back door slightly closed.

"What? Yeah, I did, I thought I locked it after" She quickly said.

"Alright, let me just change," He said leaving the kitchen to his room.

Fiona ran back to her room.

"Phew! That was so close," She sighed in relief.

"Damn Roger, he didn't tell me he was leaving his gun," She muttered.

She lay on her bed thinking again, she didn't know how to reach Eric now if only her phone wasn't smashed, she read the content in the paper; it was his number, she quickly saved Roger's number on her phone and flushed the paper in the toilet.

She walked back to her bed and sat on it, she felt mixed emotions, happy that Roger misled the gang and confused as to why did it.

"What does he want from me" she whispered to herself.

Roger was Samson's, righthand man. maybe this is a setup? she thought.

"I am done," Samuel's voice sounded through her door.

"I am coming," She said and stood up.

While they were eating, Samuel noticed she was just playing with the food, It seemed to him that she was brooding over something.

"What happened today?" He asked.

"How, what do you mean?" Fiona raised her head looking at him. Deep down, she was frightened but tried not to show it.

"You are quiet now, yesterday you were quite chatty," He replied.

"Mhmm, I don't know," She replied.

"You can talk to me about anything, You know, I am a good listener and it is a good start to recovery in your situation" Samuel offered. He wanted to be her listening ear.

"Noted, sorry, I mean alright," She said.

"Now, will you discuss your nightmare with me?" He said calmly.

As he was talking, his feet felt liquid underneath the table.

"Water," he thought.

"I am coming," He excused himself to get the mopping stick. As he came back with it, Fiona was curious as to what he was doing with a mopping stick.

"What are you doing with that?" She questioned.

"Just want to clean this water on the floor.. what the..," Samuel was aback as he drew back.

Fiona stared at the floor, noticing his surprised state.

Blood,

Not just any blood,

Her blood.

"Damn!" She bit her lips in frustration.

"What happened when I was gone, Fiona?" Samuel asked.

Fiona gazed at the bloodstained floor again.

How could she have forgotten?

Her blood stained the floor before Roger redressed the wound.

"How careless of me," She said to herself.

She forgot about everything around her because she was thinking about what Roger said to her.

"Fiona," Samuel called her as he received no reply from her.

"You aren't answering me,"

"I cut myself by mistake" She lied.

"Did you?"

"Yes,"

Samuel stared at her for a while, he didn't understand why she was lying to him, He knew her wounds must have reopened but why was she concealing it?

"Well, I don't believe you," He stated.

He quickly took her by the arm and opened her top slightly, revealing her abdomen.

She was surprised at his behavior and gave him a soft but firm slap

"You! Pervert!" She said after slapping him.
