Panic Attack

Ch-46

Laya was feeling so hungry. Rahul messaged her saying he would bring food for her and asked her to rest. But she was very thirsty. After holding back her thirst after half an hour, she decided to go to the kitchen and get some water for herself. It doesn't hurt to go there sneakily and fill her jug.

A tear slipped from her eyes, when she realized the supposed to be her home, turned into a prison to She also needs to sneak to get water like a thief. Wiping it off, she came out of her room. When she was about to turn around and climb downstairs, she heard them talking about Rahul's decision.

Laya doesn't know what to do. She thought they could give a chance to each other.

'I will think of it,' his words resounded in her ears.

She stammered in her place and fell on the vase. The vase fell and rolled down the stairs. She panicked at the unexpected situation. Just then a cat came which she was brought up from the past few days. The cat looked at her with light in its eyes. She mumbled sorry to it and made it run towards the downstairs before running upstairs.

She no longer felt thirsty, her heart was burning in pain. So… she never deserved anyone's love. With a lump in her throat, she started sobbing as she tried to control her sobbing sounds by trying to close her mouth with her palms. Due to crying, her throat dried off quickly and her nose was blocked with all the snot. When she tried to breathe her ears felt like bursting. She sneezed to her pallu, not having enough strength to find a tissue.

That's when the door of the room opened with a bang. Quickly wiping her tears, she turned around only to find her devilish mother-in-law. Her body turned sweaty at the sight of her mother-in-law. She suddenly lacked air to breathe. Her world started spinning, the ground under her feet shook violently before she fell on the ground. Her breathing ragged as she lost her ground. She wasn't unconscious. But she wasn't fine.

Maha Lakshmi felt weird when she saw Laya's condition. She just wanted to boast that her son decided to divorce her but what happened to her? Will she die? The word die brought a shiver in her body.

Running from Rahul's room, she ran to the back garden. "Rahul! Rahul!" she yelled gaining his attention as well as ruining his peaceful moments.

"What happened, Mom?" he asked feeling a headache on his way with her presence.

"That barren woman… something happened to her. I am afraid she would die," she said panicking.

Rahul ran to his room in a swift. Saranya who was about to enter her father's room saw her brother running as if something happened. She wondered if it was related to Laya. However, she called her father and ran after her brother. There they saw Rahul trying to calm Laya. But Laya's eyes widened as her gaze fixed on Maha Lakshmi.

"Mom, just leave this damn place! How long do you want to torture her? Why in the hell did you enter this damned place!" Saranya yelled at her mom. Maha Lakshmi left the room immediately.

She noticed the jug was empty and went to fill the water. Turning on the AC she left the room. Rahul was rubbing her hands and legs simultaneously trying to make her alright. After some time, Laya turned normal. Her body and her saree were drenched in sweat.

"What happened?" Rahul asked, hugging her. She felt protective and safe in his embrace. Forgetting the past, present, and everything she gave in to the present moment. She melted in his embrace. Shrinking into his arms, she held on to him. "When I sat there, she came into the room. Suddenly I couldn't breathe. The ground and my world shook. And then she ran and came with you," she said feeling weak.

Rahul's eyes rimmed red. He never thought Laya would fall into this stage when she saw his mother. She was fine when she saw her mother when she entered the house. But what happened now? He couldn't understand what exactly was happening. He needs a doctor. Maybe the one who treated her would do the best. Taking his phone out, he called the doctor. The doctor came in thirty minutes.

He checked her vitals and said to Rahul, "She is fine. She just has a panic attack. There must be something that triggered her. Make sure that you won't tell or show the things that trigger her. Maybe a change of location for a few days would make her feel better," the doctor said. He left after giving him a prescription.

Rahul held the prescription paper tightly. So… Laya was pulled into this pit to this extent. Suddenly, he realized his mother turned into a monster. He needs to live in this place with Laya.

He walked into his room and saw Saranya handing her water, which she rejected politely. She crawled back to the bed and curled into a ball as she tried to move farther away from her. Rahul understood the situation.

"Saranya, leave this room. I will take care of her," he said.

"You say as if you mean," she spat out at him. She pitied Laya… but she could do nothing to her.

"Call someone and ask them to get medicine from this prescription," he said as he stopped Saranya. She wanted to deny him but for the sake of Laya, she nodded and went.
