Brenda's Cousin

The bustling city with neon lights all around the streets, there were lots of people roaming with their families having fun together and there were also some couples walked hand in hand together sweetly passing by her.

Cassie felt a little envious seeing those people spending their precious time together with love ones. She feels hurt and thought that no one will like to be with her.

She went back to own consciousness and turned her head to the stalls selling some bangles in the corner for her phone accessories. She picked one by one to choose which one is better for her taste. After a second thought, she choose a pink bunny handling a carrot on its mouth, then her phone suddenly ringing. She get a money on her purse and paid off the stuff then she put it on immediately before answering the call.

" Hello ?.." Cassie walked away and left the stall twirling her new bangles on her phone. She squint her eyes and put her phone away from her ear, a loud music welcomed her ears from another line that all she can heard. She ended the call and type a message before sending it.

Few minutes later, Cassie's phone rings again, she answered it and now it's no longer noisy anymore.

" W-where a-are y-you n-now B-bestie..??" It's her officemate Brenda who called.

" I'm the one who's going to ask you about that Bren.." She rolled her eyes retorted.

" He he he he...I- I...I- I'm with my cousin right now Bestie...he he he...I didn't do hooking hot guys here in the club...he he he...I'm a good girl now...he he he...." She hiccups as she finished.

" Good girl, my ass! Hurry and told your cousin to go home now! you are already drunk!"

" Nope, I'm not drunk yet! we were waiting for your arrival!" Brenda said.

" I can't come there now, Bren...it's already late and I'm so hungry. Hurry and told your cousin to send you home." Cassie said, she saw a small restaurant and went inside. Her tummy growling sounds as she smells the aroma of foods. She excitedly sat on the empty table and call for the waiter.

" Hey! You forgot about me! Cassie! hello?! Cassie??! " Her friend shouts in the phone.

" Yes, your majesty. I can still hear you. Please Brenda I'm starving let me eat first!" Cassie blurted.

" I'll wait for you here! Hurry up!"

" Hey! My foods aren't served yet. And you want me to hurry?! " Cassie playing mad on her. She saw her foods was about to serve. She blurted. "Wow!"

" What's on the table? " Brenda asked.

" My favorite, of course. BBQ Pigs organs. " She teases her. She knows Brenda doesn't Iike this kind of food.

" Yuck! Cassie! Don't eat those unhealthy foods! Throw it all in the garbage!" Cassie saw the waiter narrowed his brows. She smiled apologetically and say sorry. Her phone was in loud speaker that's why everybody turned they're gaze towards her. She keep bowing her heads to everybody and smile faintly.

" Brenda, you're drunk tell your cousin to send you home. Don't be cocky Bren." She warned her. and started eating her food.

" No! I'll stay right here until you arrives! I'll be waiting! bye!" Brenda ended the call before Cassie says more. She let out a sigh and eat faster as she could be.

'This brat, really good at pissing me off.' She thought to herself.

Cassie read the message that Brenda sent her awhile ago. She was now walking in the hallway looking for the private room that they're in. Then she reaches the B2 room in the middle and knock on the door. No one responds and later on the waitress standing on her back with a tray full of liquor and she greeted her.

" Is that their order, miss?" She politely asked.

" Yes, ma'am."

" OK, let me handle this. Just please open the door for me. " She told the waitress and went inside.

She can't clearly see when goes in, the room was full of smoke. A tall figure man bumbed into her and the heavy tray on her hand swift and uncontrollably swaying until it drops on the floor. A loud bang heard in the room and the music stops and the colored lights went off.

The entire room fell silent and the normal lights turned on.

Brenda saw Cassie picking the broken glass on the floor and walked to help her. Cassie was still wearing high heels and she accidentally slipped her leg and the broken glass hits her.

Brenda screamed loudly as she saw Cassie bleeding on the floor. The tall man help her get up after he put his tie on the wound. He carried her up and went out.

At the hospital...

" Ms. Cassie, please avoid the wound of getting wet or it will be worsen. When you take a bath, there should be someone to help you to cover up that wound. It's a bit deep, Cassie. I'll give you the prescription and drink it on time. Okay?" the doctor reminded her and glance to the man she doesn't know his name.

Both of them left her in the hospital bed, while Cassie looked at their ascending back walking away and leaving her alone.

" Here, dude. She should take this all meds to avoid infection. I also write the time and dosage for her to take. Always keep her wound dry and clean it with betadine and change her bandage." The doctor gets some water and offer some for him.

" I'll take note to that." He grab the glass of water and walk toward on the couch sat down.

Meanwhile...

" Are you alright, Cass?" Brenda sat down beside her. Looking at her bandage foot.

" I'm good, Bren." She said. She try moving her legs down to walk but she felt pain when she tried to walk. She take a few steps enduring the pain but she failed. Cassie collapse on the floor but a strong arms held her up and guided her back to the bed.

" Thank you." Cassie stare to the man. ' I thought he left.' She thought.

" I went out to doctor Ramirez for the medicine." He explained.

Cassie dumbfounded on his reply. ' is this man can read what's on my mind??' She amusingly stare towards him.

" It's written all over your face." He grab my things and about to carry me up. Cassie's face heated and she felt her face was turned as red as tomatoes and she stopped him.

" Wait, no need for you to carry me out. I can walk. " Cassie said looking to her best friend.

Brenda cleared her throat and said. " I forgot to introduce my cousin to you bestie. He's Edward my cousin the one I told you." She explain and whispered on her. Her eyes widen..
