Kid brother

Away from there, the Royal Family siblings were well, heading home, which was commonly called the Palace.

"Yes mother. I understand. We're on our way back." Prince Caspian replied his mother, The Queen Consort of Arcadia, Rosette Williams.

She was ranting over the phone, her voice laced with concern and fear. Her reaction reflected that of a loving mother who heard her son was literally confronted by death moments ago, while she was totally oblivious. To think that she was having a good time. It was fear, concern, worry, anger, relief…a thousand emotions at once.

"...yes mom. You've spoken to him already, right? He's fine, I promise. We'll be at the palace in no time. Just wait for us and don't panic." Prince Caspian said to his mother who was at the other end.

"Yes mom. Bye." Prince Caspian answered, before his mother dropped the call. With an exasperated sigh, he glanced at his brother who was sitting next to him, before relaxing into the backseat properly.

Prince Kinsey couldn't spare the Crown Prince a glance, because of the sudden feeling of guilt.

Prince Caspian had always cautioned him about being too carefree, but he loved the life of a free bird.

Prince Kinsey had always felt the walls of the Palace was no more than a trap. Not that he hated being a Prince, since he loved his family - including his step brother, but he hated the restrictions.

Moreover, he thought he was cautious and mature enough to ward off the wrong set of people. But unfortunately for him, having the blood of the Royal Family meant attracting all kinds of fickle and even the worst type of people he might never be prepared for.

But all of that was a part of the whole thing. His heart which was pierced, was a major thing to him. How was he to go about the female folks now? 'Ugh Kinsey…that's not even the question'. He cautioned.

His father! The King. How was he going to stand in front of that disciplinarian of a father?

Considering how strict the King, his father could be like it just dawned on him, Prince Kinsey could suddenly feel the irregular thump of his heart, which force was literally pushing him forward.

With a sigh, which temporarily brought prince Kinsey from any where but La La Land, Prince Caspian then asked the officer who was driving, to roll up the partition. He noticed the petrified expression on his brother's face, and he didn't need to second guess.

Knowing his brother very well, Prince Caspian was well aware of what resulted to the look on his face at the moment. Prince Kinsey disliked getting punished. And they both knew it was inevitable, knowing the kind of father they had.

Their father, the King loved them very much, but was ever ready to chastise them whenever they flopped big time. Unfortunately for Kinsey, this was one of those moments.

"I'm gonna plead on your behalf. That's as far as I can go." Prince Caspian said to his brother who turned to look at him immediately.

"Thank you brother. Thank you so much." Prince Kinsey replied in gratitude, knowing that would soften their father's heart to an extent.

The King had respect for the Crown Prince, giving that he had proven to be worth every title he had to his name. He was harsh on Prince Kinsey most times, given how naive and careless he could be at times. But a plea from his eldest son would go a long way!

But of course, their mother was very much an option as well! Although she was definitely going to stay mad at him for a while, Prince Kinsey knew he could count on her.

Even if it meant falling sick to make her plead on his_ Wait! Maybe that was it! Falling ill!

With a smile, Prince Kinsey cleared his throat. He was going to plead with his cold brother to cooperate with him.

With a faked weak voice, Prince Kinsey called out with a sullen expression, ditching the smiley face he wore a few seconds ago. " Thank you so much, Your Highness." Said Prince Kinsey, causing his brother to almost choke on his saliva.

With a scoff laugh, Prince Caspian turned to look at Prince Kinsey, only to see the expression on his face. Though he was 8 years older than Prince Kinsey, he felt too old around him. Because he could see through him, literally every time!

It made him feel his brother was too childish. Maybe it was owing to the fact that he knew him from birth…

"What is It?" Prince Caspian asked. "Huh?" Prince Kinsey asked, looking at his brother who was glancing from his phone to the window.

With a long sigh, Prince Caspian rephrased his question, "What do you want?"

"I…I don't want anything. I was just appreciating y_"

"5 seconds Kinsey."

"Okay…. Umm… I was wondering if you would_ I want to pretend I'm not feeling_"

"... you want to fake an ill health?" Prince Caspian asked, taking the words from his brother's mouth.

"How did you know I was_"

"Count me out."

"Please brother I _''

"Let me be."

"Come on big bro. I promise_"

"Quiet."

"You mean a lot to me brother." Prince Kinsey said with a pleading look. He wasn't down for the act he was putting up, but he had to think of the near future.

"You don't mean anything to me." Prince Caspian answered.

"Come on bro, you know that's a lie." Prince Kinsey said, as his lips curved into a smile. "I would have held onto your sleeve to plead with you, but you're sleeveless because of love. True love." Prince Kinsey teased.

Turning to Kinsey who was leaning in to look at him, "I hate you deeply." Prince Caspian replied, gritting his teeth. But immediately he returned to his previous position, his eyes softened.

Though Kinsey was almost 20 Years old, the Crown Prince still saw him as the little boy he fed years ago. The little boy who would always attempt to bruise his face whenever he played with him as an infant. The little infant he prevented from taking his whole hand into his mouth - That Kinsey. That was the boy he remembered, when he looked at Prince Kinsey's pleading eyes.

But was he going to concur to his request…? No!
