CHAPTER 4:CAN I HELP YOU?

" Yes, what can I help you with, sir?" I asked as I turned around to face him. This man was too damn hot for his own good.

"Are you the owner of this hotel?"

"Ah..yes. I just said that."

" Then if you are the owner, why are you blaming the manager for letting us in here?" He asked.

"Because this is MY private room. It is limited to strangers.I also stated that."

" Then are we strangers?" He asked and I was at a loss for words. What did he mean by that?

"Am sorry, what do you mean by that, sir?"

He ran a hand through his midnight black hair as he looked at me before muttering. " You really forgot."

"I forgot? What?" I asked, confusion apparent on my face.

"Abou...." He was suddenly interrupted by my phone ringing. I picked it up when I saw that it was a call from my assistant.

"Sorry... I have to go." I said as I exited the room in a hurry.

Writer's POV:

As soon as she left, one of the men seated on the couches, named Reggie, turned to look at him.

" Bro, she is the one?"

He remained silent.

" Aryan, are you listening to me? That's her, right?"

Aryan turned to Reggie, " Yes, it's her."

" Then what are you doing, seated your ass down? Go after her. You have finally found her after all this time and you are just going to let her go again?!" Dice, another one of his friends, asked in disbelief.

"Don't worry about that. We will surely meet again. And this time, I won't let her go." Aryan answered as a small smile graced his lips.

" She still remembers our special room." He laughed slightly as he leaned back on the sofa and put a hand over his eyes.

Malia's pov:

"Yes am on my way." I answered my P.A as I made my way to the elevator. I pressed the seventh floor button and the doors closed.

That man's question disturbed my mind. What did he mean by I really forgot? Was there something between us?

*Ding*

I alighted the elevator and headed to room 82 where Kylie was waiting for me.I would think about his strange words later.

Kylie applied my make up and dressed my hair. She handed me a v-neck black sequin lace mermaid ball gown and as expected, it fit perfectly and hugged me in the right places, enhancing my natural curves.I paired the dress with black fairy tale pumps with gold filigree .

She handed me a black clutch containing my items in it, including a small taser for protection in case something unexpected happened.

One and a half hour later, I was ready to go. I thanked Kylie for her effort and hugged her goodbye before boarding my awaiting car. An hour later, we arrived at the Lumina Hall where the event was being held. I alighted the car and my driver left to park the car. I then realized that the event had already started, since no one, except the body guards and the four concierges at the entrance, was around.

Shit. I was very late and I still forgot to bring a partner! I contemplated going to the nearby street and grabbing any handsome man I come across and bringing him to the event with me.

As I bit my thumb nail in frustration, a Rolls-Royce phantom stopped at the entrance of the hall. I watched as a man alighted the vehicle in all his glory and charm, with two burly body guards behind him.

When he turned to look at me, I felt my breathe hitch. It was him. The aura man from earlier. And he was as handsome as ever, sporting his midnight black suit with gold embroidery, which hugged his toned arms and legs to perfection. Wait a second, this was more than a coincidence. How come we matched colors?

Maybe I could approach him and ask him to be my partner for the ball since our clothes' color matched and he also didn't have a partner.

As I was in thoughts of how I could start the conversation with him, a musky , woody scent invaded my senses. I looked up and my eyes clashed with his black, stormy eyes in which I could see my reflection. Damn, he smelt good. However one question lingered at the back of my mind. Why had he approached me?

"Can I help you?" My voice came out tremulous.

" You don't have a partner and I don't have one. Let's go in together." He said as he offered me his hand.

After reasoning inwardly for a while, I placed my hand in his and he kissed my knuckles. His sudden action made me coy and feel giddy with excitement. He placed my hand on his bent elbow and we ascended the stairs to the hall.

I looked at his side profile and gazed at him for a while.

"Do I look that handsome that you are starting to fall for me?" He suddenly asked.

" What?" I asked, pretending not to know what he was talking about. " My name is Malia and you are?" I added, changing the subject.

In stead of answering me, he halted and looked at me. Raising his hand,he tucked a lose strand of my hair behind my ear and placed his warm palm on my cheek.

" I can't believe that you really forgot me Mal." He stated in a raspy voice. A tinge of sadness flashed across his eyes when I looked at him. "Allow me to introduce myself again. My name is Aryan." He added.

Aryan? That name sounded slightly familiar and rang a bell but I couldn't pinpoint where I had heard it before. He cleared his throat bringing me back from my thoughts.

"I will tell you everything after the ball, okay?" He said, caressing my cheek. I don't know why but I found comfort in his action.

"Okay." I answered as I averted my gaze before I could be sucked into the deep beautiful but dark abyss called his eyes.

Could I trust him? That was the question that lingered in my head till we reached the double doors leading to the hall.

Before the ostiary opened the door, Aryan held my hand and looked at me. " Don't think about it too much. You can ask me any question after we leave here. And yes, you can trust me."

"Do you read minds?" I queried as I peered up at him.

He tittered before answering. " No but I studied psychology."
