Chapter 6

# ★★★★ COVEN OF SHADOWS ★★★★

Hecate smashed her mirror angrily as she watched Derrick and Eva mate each other. The shards scattered across the cold stone floor, reflecting fragments of her furious visage. She had sent the maid who pretended to be pregnant for the Alpha to prevent her from being marked by Alpha Derrick, but she guessed her power over the Starlight Pack had failed.

"Come here now!!!!!" she screamed, her voice echoing through the dark, musty chamber as she summoned the maid she had sent on the mission.

The maid hurried in, her steps hesitant and fearful. "You called for me, great Queen," she said, her voice trembling as she shivered under Hecate's intense, fiery gaze.

"You have failed in your mission. Do you know what that thing has cursed me with? Do you know that I can never have power over them again, all because of your stupidity?" Hecate thundered, her eyes blazing with rage.

"I'm sorry, Your Highness," the maid said, kneeling down immediately and bowing her head. "I will try harder. I will make sure that I separate them. If I can't, then I'll use their son to separate them permanently. Just give me more time, please."

As Hecate was about to respond, the air in the room thickened and a dark, ominous aura materialized. A man stepped out of the shadows, his presence dominating the chamber. Hecate's expression softened, a wicked smile curling her lips. She sent the maid away with a dismissive wave.

"You're just in time," she murmured, pulling the man into a hard, passionate kiss. When they broke apart, he stared at her with piercing, dark eyes.

"I guess the chosen one has slipped from your grasp, hasn't she?" he asked, his voice a deep, mocking rumble. Hecate nodded, pouting slightly. He smirked darkly.

"Send down a strange illness to Ravenwood Pack. She would go there to save them, and she would be vulnerable to our attack. It's easy to catch her," he suggested, making Hecate clap her hands like an excited child.

"It's good to have you back, your highness," she smiled dangerously.

This man was Malachar, the leader of the underworld and ruler of all witches, vampires, and demons. His return to Hecate's side meant a renewed era of darkness and power.

# ★★★ REAVENWOOD PACK ★★★

That night, a thick, unnatural fog rolled into Ravenwood Pack's territory. Its arrival was silent and insidious, blanketing the village and seeping into every home. By morning, the pack was in turmoil. Wolves lay feverish, their bodies wracked with a mysterious ailment that none of their healers could identify or cure.

" We have tried everything we know, all the healers in the park none of them can distinguish this sudden disease and according to you the priest he said we should go and look for one miss Eva Green Jeong. Does she has an unexpected healing skills which was to be used in situations like this, she's the chosen one and the savior of this Park from every dark shadow and a powers wolverine around it. But currently miss Eva is dead the only person I know who looks exactly like her is Luna Xanthe de Winton. In which I know that Alpha Derrick will never allow his bride to come to this Pack considering the insult that was previously rained on her when she came during your anniversary" Knight reported to Alpha Wang, who was lost in thoughts and doesn't know what to do anymore.

" I don't care what you do or how you do it all I want is for you to send a message to the Starlight Pack telling them of the currency situation and we need the help of their Luna. I will find out during her stays here if she's truly Eva Green Jeong or not" Wang ordered as Knight bowed slightly before leaving his Chambers.

Just as Eva had anticipated, a message came to us, and now it's our time to act. We're heading back to where it all began, and where it will all end. Eva's been itching to help the Ravenwood Pack, and I can't blame her. Her compassionate heart can't ignore the suffering of innocents.

"Eva, I know you want to help, but I don't like it," I said, my rugged face creased with concern. "Something feels off. What if this is a trap?"

Eva's determination was unwavering, her eyes blazing with conviction. "I know the risks, Derrick, but I can't let fear stop me from doing what's right. We have to try."

I sighed, knowing I couldn't deny her. "I'll come with you, Eva. We face this together."

As we prepared to leave, I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. Something was off, and I hoped I was wrong.

As they prepared to leave, Hecate watched through a crystal orb, her lips curled into a sinister smile. "Perfect," she purred. "Everything is falling into place."

Malachar stood beside her, his presence a looming shadow. "Remember, we must strike when she's at her weakest. Her powers are formidable, but even she cannot fight illness and us at the same time."

Hecate nodded, her eyes gleaming with malevolent delight. "Let the game begin."

As we arrived at Ravenwood Pack, Eva and I were met with a sight that made my heart sink. The usually vibrant community was now a ghost town, with wolves lying listlessly, their skin pale and clammy. The air was thick with the scent of sickness and fear. Eva sprang into action, using her healing abilities to ease the suffering of the pack members. I helped where I could, trying to offer some strength and reassurance to those who were panicked.

But as the hours turned into days, the illness persisted, and Eva grew weary. I could see her strength waning with each passing moment, her selflessness both her greatest strength and her greatest vulnerability. I couldn't help but think of Hecate, that manipulative witch. This had her written all over it.

One evening, as Eva took a brief respite, I confronted her. "Eva, you need to rest. You can't help them if you collapse." She insisted she was fine, but her pallor and the dark circles under her eyes told a different story. "No, you're not," I said firmly. "We need to figure out what's really going on here. I have a feeling this isn't a natural illness."

I could see the exhaustion in her eyes, but I also saw her determination. She was not going to give up, no matter what. And I wasn't going to let her face this alone. We were in this together, and together, we would uncover the truth behind this mysterious illness.

Back in her dark chamber, Hecate watched, satisfaction flickering in her eyes. "She's weakening," she remarked to Malachar. "Soon, she'll be ours."

Malachar nodded, his expression grim. "We must be ready. When she falls, we strike."

As the days dragged on, Eva's condition worsened. She pushed herself to the brink, refusing to leave the sick unattended. Iwas determined to protect her, took to patrolling the village at night, my senses on high alert for any sign of Hecate or her minions.

One night, as I prowled the outskirts of the village, a familiar, sinister presence enveloped him. I spun around, growling low in my throat. From the shadows emerged a figure, cloaked in darkness.

"Malachar," I spat, recognizing the dark aura immediately.

"Alpha Derrick," Malachar greeted, his voice smooth and mocking. "So protective of your little mate, aren't you?"

"What do you want?" I demanded, my muscles tensed and ready for a fight.

"I want what has always been mine," Malachar said, his eyes glowing with an otherworldly light. "Power. Control. And Eva is the key."

"You'll never have her," I snarled, launching myself at Malachar.

We clashed in a brutal fight, our strength and ferocity shaking the ground beneath them. Malachar's dark magic clashed with my raw power, each trying to overpower the other.

---

Meanwhile, back in the village, I sensed a sudden surge of dread. Eva was feeling my distress, and I knew she'd come for me. Sure enough, she arrived just in time to see me locked in a deadly battle with Malachar. With a cry, she threw herself into the fray, her powers flaring as she attacked Malachar.

"Eva, no!" I shouted, trying to protect her, but it was too late. Malachar turned his attention to her, his eyes blazing with malevolence. "You're too late," he hissed. "She belongs to us now."

Eva fought with every ounce of her strength, but she was weakened from days of healing the sick. Malachar's dark magic overwhelmed her, and she fell to the ground, gasping for breath. I roared in fury, my rage giving me a second wind. I attacked Malachar with renewed vigor, determined to protect Eva at all costs.

Just as Malachar was about to deliver a fatal blow, a blinding light erupted from Eva. She summoned the last of her power, creating a barrier that pushed Malachar back. "This isn't over," Malachar growled, retreating into the shadows. "We'll be back."

As the darkness lifted, Eva collapsed into my arms, exhausted but alive. I held her tightly, my heart aching with love and relief. "We did it," she whispered, her voice barely audible.

"You did it," I corrected, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "You're incredible."

Together, we returned to the village, where the illness was beginning to lift, thanks to Eva's efforts. The pack members slowly recovered, their strength returning. I knew Hecate and Malachar would be back, but this time we won't be here again there Alpha should know what to do.
