Chapter XIV

Chapter XIV: Looking for the cat. 

Syaoran decided to go back and explain to the King whom he served the things that happened to him. 

The young Raksha kneeled when he saw the King who was going back and forth, worried about his Raksha. When he noticed that the Raksha had come back, he immediately went over him. 

"Syaoran! Where in the world did you go!? Don't you know how I am very worried about your sudden disappearance?!" the King emotionally scolded him.

"Pardon my sudden disappearance, My King. However, I won't be able to cure myself if I won't see the girl for myself. I apologize for making you worry." Syaoran replied with a sincere tone. 

The King only sighed upon hearing these reasonings. Although he is worried about him, he is also glad that nothing bad happened to Raksha. 

"So, you keep talking about this girl. Can you tell me who she is?...---wait, don't tell me that girl is the one you wished to protect?" 

Syaoran took a glance at the King as he once nodded gently. The King smiled because of this, he is grateful that his Raksha has finally found the one who wants to protect. 

"Is that so? I'm glad for you. After All, it's been too many years for you. Finally." the King tapped Raksha's shoulder happily. 

"You may rise. I'm sure you want to be around her. Why don't you spend some time with her?" 

The silence began to roam as the King has told Syaoran to spend some time with the person he made a contract with. 

The wind suddenly brews between them, Syaoran stood right before the King and began to speak. 

"Your Majesty, though I made a contract with another human. I am still your loyal subject. Our mission is more important, I am your shield and strength. How can I attempt to leave your side?" 

The King sneered at him, "What in the world are you talking about? This is what I want for you all this time. I am like your father giving you a blessing. You haven't taken any day off since you started working for me, right? Then think of this as your day off." 

The King demanded. He was telling those words so kindly that even Syaoran wasn't able to defy it.

"..." 

"Besides, We are temporarily pulling off the investigation. I have to deal with the matters inside the kingdom. My Mother wants me to marry the girl she chose, yet I don't feel like I want the girl for me." 

The King walked toward the nearest lake, he saw how stars are reflecting on the water. 

"What will happen to this kingdom shortly? People are starting to rebel and rebel. There are a lot of crimes and yet the government isn't able to fix them." 

He sighed and made an emotional glance at the atmosphere. 

"I wish I could do better…"

(Alice's POV)

It has been three days since that annoying sickness disappeared. I spent a lot of time in bed, being taken care of by Kai who is a young master in a big house. 

We also got Hanako, his best friend with us. 

He said that I can stay at their manor as long as I can. 

Now, I'm walking alone on the busy street of the capital. I will try my luck to find Cheshire, I'm sure he must be here somewhere. 

"Although I got a free home and food... stuff… I can't help but think something sad. I didn't know that going to this place will be lonely." 

I muttered to myself. I miss my faeries, I wonder how they are. Walking alone here, it's kinda deserted.

Kai can't help me since he got an errand to do with Hanako. He offered his servant to accompany me however, I decided to decline. 

"I'm not really sure. I may bring harm to his servant. I'm a walking disaster after all." 

It was a while since I was walking, I have stopped somewhere that is familiar to me and that is the place before I got sold off. 

"This place. This is the place where I have lost my Cheshire! The only partner I got has been taken away from me and that is because of the old grandpa who is very inhuman!" 

I took a heavy step towards the door. It was close by then when I decided to kick it with my full force.

*Blag!*

I was able to break that door just hitting it.

"Wahhh!" The nurse shouted, she looked surprised when she saw me instead of getting her attention to the door that I broke.

"What? Why are you surprised! Don't you remember me? I am the one you idiot humans sold!" I complained as I walked toward her to confront her by grabbing her collar.

"Where is the old hag huh!? Where is he hiding!" 

I certainly try to scare her by popping my eyes out. But half of it is true because I'm mad.

"The. The doctor isn't here! He was caught by the royal guards and got punished." 

I released her, pushing away from me.

"Punished? By whom?" I got a little curious here. 

"By the King. I am so sorry for what happened to you!" 

She's apologizing? Keh! No one wants your apologies for what you did to us. 

"Do you think that is enough for you to be pardoned? After you sold me!? Anyways I don't care about that anymore as long as you give my cat back to me." 

What can I even do with that? 

"About the cat… the cat was taken by some man after I threw him." 

"...you, what did you just say? ...you threw him!?" 

"I'm sorry! I was following the order of the doctor! I'm so sorry. I'm only following him." 

She suddenly kneeled her legs down and begged. 

"Please spare my life! I have a family to take care of, please!" I rolled my eyes. 

I'm really pissed off at this girl thus nothing will change from what she did. 

"Who said I want your life. Tss! You are truly making everything so complicated!" I can do nothing...after all.

I decided to leave the place because she said that Cheshire was taken by someone.

"I just hope the person who took him wasn't a bad person." 

I sat in the court. Looking around dramatically.

When I saw someone familiar to me.

"Isn't that Syaoran?" I spoke to myself as I kept on staring at the person who was standing not so far from me.

When I realized that it was him, I ran toward him and greeted him.

"Syaoran! What are you doing here??" 

At first, he just took a little peek at me. I can't define what he was thinking. But if I based it on his posture. 

Is he watching me? 

Then he started to speak to me.

"What are you doing here? Making trouble again?" He sounded cool yet he is definitely insulting me.

"What? No! I am here because I was looking for my cat. The nurse told me that they threw him and someone took it." 

Eh---why did I explain that to him again? 

"You are sick, even so, you want to find your cat….you should have rested enough." 

What in the world is he talking about?

"I'm already fine. Can't you distinguish it just by looking at me?" 

"....." 

Ahh! Grr….! Say something.
