The pleasure pub was a huge two-storey building. It was spacious in the main hall with a lot of tables scattered in the center. In the center of the room is a small stage large enough to perform any forms of entertainment. It gives a homely ambiance and is cozy. If someone would visit the place, they would surely be at ease and enjoy their time. The colorful design of the walls was lively and guessing by the ample bulbs in around the main hall, it would make the atmosphere much more enjoyable at night. All districts enjoy electricity. Nevertheless, districts were still following the law that prohibits over usage of the electricity. This pub might be an exception.
Also, the moment they stepped inside the pub, multiple eyes landed in their small group. Mick and Sammy were flanking her sides and the gazes rained down on them. Customers were already in the middle of their cups. Although the area was half-full, the prostitutes were all milling around actively.
Whatever your preferences are, the pub was ironically equipped with it. The pleasure workers were so easy to the eyes. Even with her, a real woman, the sight was just alluring and hypnotizing. It wasn't a surprise. After all, these men were employed to live like a woman and provide companionship as a woman. Shapes, colors, and different demeanors. One can have the rarest preference and the pleasure pub will be able to provide it.
"Oh, a new face. Quite a pretty face. Do you want to work here?" From her right, Tahlia saw a beautiful man with waist long ash blonde hair. The hair color floated freely behind his back, creating a luxurious look. His hair was the opposite of Langdon's black hair. His lips were dyed pigmented red, and his brown eyes masterfully drawn with kohl.
"He is the hermit, Millon. Dickens already asked you for a room." Sammy explained with his eyes turned to her. He was drilling holes in her face.
"Hmm… you do look pretty." the man flanking her right added with a thoughtful look.
"But you are dirty and stinky…" Mick chimed in.
"Nothing a small shower won't solve. Come on up. I'm sure you are tired from the trip." The beautiful man, Millon, said and turned around to walk ahead of them. He must be the head in this pub.
Maybe the men on her side saw the questions on her face so they offered an explanation and a tour.
"Millon is one of the famous whores here, though they prefer to be called courtesans. But it's all the same hole." Mick shrugged.
"One of the famous?" she finally speaks. The people around her were already talking about her identity. The prostitutes were also whispering behind their hands, thoroughly looking at her form. It was annoying to witness.
"Yes. Lanny was the other one." Sammy gestured in the direction of the stairs, coaxing her to climb it but her feet stopped moving when she heard what the man said.
"Lanny?" she asked, turning to Sammy.
"The same Lanny that you have, Talon." he replied with a grin.
Her jaw dropped in shock. Of course, she already expected that Langdon was someone who can fetch a handsome price, and one of the most beautiful people she ever met, but she did not expect him to be this famous.
"Lanny was the Boss's favorite among the whores in this pub."
"Pardon?" it was impossible for her jaw to fall even lower, but it was happening now. Does that mean that her suspicions about the blonde man and Langdon were true? Are they more than owner and worker?
"You must not know because you just owned him for a short time, but Lanny was a great conversationalist. He was also very amicable and can keep the flow of conversation going for a long time. The customers love that. He was good at making you forget about your worries. Customers staying for a long means more liquor and whores being acquired. It means more money. Lanny was one of the reasons why customers keep coming back here." Sammy chuckled lightly. Proud.
Tahlia, on the other hand, can't explain what she was feeling with the new information she was receiving.
"He was also very good in bed." Mick dreamily uttered. She felt like she fell into the abyss. She could not help distancing herself from the two men. Of course, it was natural and normal to share or have the same prostitute. They are the substitute so it's understandable. However, she could not picture it. The knowledge is making her irate.
"You both had him before?" she asked the two men with a blank expression, with a lost look on her face.
She watched how the dreamy look on Mick's face gradually disappeared like a fog. There was regret in his eyes. Both of their eyes. Curious, she waited for them to answer her question silently.
"He was expensive." Sammy smiled at her with a shy look on his face. It seems he understood that she was not handling the information well behind her blank face. She was the new owner of the man they were fawning over. No one would appreciate their belongings being lusted after. Coveted. Her eyebrows raised in question, asking him to explain further.
"Lanny was not for everyone. He was exclusive for the higher ups, for the visitors from the other districts. As far as I know, he usually caters to the district heads. Officials that have high ranks." he explained. The thought of it made her so angry that she almost bit her tongue.
She could not help feeling sorry for Langdon. It must have been tough to offer himself over and over again without much choice. Now, she could understand his wish to stay with her a little. To be free and be himself without worrying whom he is going to service next.
"Follow me." That voice woke her from her thoughts, and she looked up to see Millon staring down at them from the top of the stairs. The two men followed the courtesan, and she reluctantly took a step.
Her thoughts were lingering on the man she left back on the main island. She decided that she would help him start a new life. She would help him in any way she can.
"He is cute. I would like him for a night."
"Do you think he likes gingers?"
"Slut. He is prettier than all of us combined."
"So? I want him. I think I'll give him a visit tonight."
Tahlia could hear the courtesans whispering around and she gave the last one a pointed glare. It's as if she's telling the person to try if they have a death wish. To her confusion, the last courtesan that said he'll pay her a visit, wink in her direction and flutter his painted eyes. It made her shudder in disgust. With the risk of the courtesans disturbing her stay, she flashed them the small knife she swiftly unsheathed from its case. That did it and the courtesans scattered away. With that problem of disturbance resolved, she followed Millon and the two men. She also made sure to locate the possible exit points of the pub. After resting for a few hours, she would quickly tour the place and then look for the things she needs.
For now, she'll have to lock, barricade the door and windows for her own safety. It's better to be always on guard in this strange place.
"Hurry up." It was Millon and she quickened her steps to keep up with the group. They are on the last floor of the building.
