146 You're Not Mad?

"You're awake!" Emily exclaimed as her eyes filled with tears. "Are you feeling okay? What hurts? Do I need to call the nurse?"

Justin was too shocked to even shake his head. She…cared about how he was feeling? Did that mean she wasn't mad anymore? Or was she just being nice?

He stared at her to the point that she got concerned. "What's wrong? Are you having a stroke or something?"

"Throat hurts," he choked out before indulging in another round of hacking coughs.

She frantically pushed the call button for the nurse, not knowing what else to do. The nurse showed up in less than two minutes and started adjusting his IV drip before handing him a glass of water and admonishing him to drink slowly.
