147 Not Going Anywhere

"Well, well, well, look what we have here," Sam's dry voice cut through the otherwise silent private hospital room.

Emily blinked up at her in a daze. Justin had fallen asleep with his arm around her at three in the morning so she had been stuck. She had no other option but to fall asleep curled up at his side because she couldn't bear to disturb his rest by wriggling free.

Besides, being back in his arms again…she was at peace for the first time in weeks. This was where she belonged.

"Come on, Sam, it's not like we actually did anything. We talked until he fell asleep and I got stuck here."

"I never said you did anything," she said innocently.

"Yeah, but you implied it," Emily muttered. "What time is it, anyway?"

"Just after eleven. Visiting hours barely started. I can't believe you convinced them to let you stay."
