Chapter 2

Mona was fuming in anger at the man before her. Even if he was wealthy, that doesn't mean he can't apologize and…pay for the damages. How was she going to pay for these drinks? She was obviously a daughter of a pauper!

As she blocked the man from leaving, she began to rant endlessly to him. Even if he wouldn't apologize, can't he just promise to pay for the drinks?

What if the customer complains about not receiving the wine? What if the customer insists on getting his money back?

"Honourable sir! I won't get out of the way. Getting out of the way means I am going to work my ass off paying for the drinks you just destroyed! You couldn't even apologize for your rude behavior but rather you just talked ...."

"Can you just shut up and get the hell out of my way?" Lester was trying to hold up his patience. Why was this girl so adamant?

"I will not, honorable sir!" Mona said defiantly.

Lester was getting pissed off already. As he made to push her away, something went straight into his nose and strangely it was a calming scent from this girl.

It was like the scent from the morning rose that just budded. His nerves began to calm down and he felt drawn to her.

What the hell was happening to him? It must be that the feeling had affected his judgement. The girl was still ranting non-stop. He was really getting an earful from her but he was rather drawn to her scent.

That scent… felt familiar but where and how? Lester drew closer to the girl as his nerves began to relax slowly. He wanted to feel more of the scent. He drew closer and his eyes locked on her glossy lips. He tried his best to avoid it. Damn! He was trying to stop getting drawn by her!

Mona who was talking non-stop suddenly notice the strange man drawing closer to her. What was happening? Why was he drawing closer to her? Was he drunk? Or was he a…rapist?

Mona's mind was filled with different thoughts…horrible thoughts. Before she could turn around to leave, the man had locked her up against the wall of the corridor.

"Honor… honor…honorable sir! This…this is not right!"

"Can you keep quiet for once? And will you stop calling me honorable sir?" Lester said to her.

He was getting pissed off by that address of hers. What's with the honorable stuff? Was she kind of an ancient maiden?

"Keep…keep quiet? Hey! Get off me before I kick your ass! I…I…" Mona said and she began to stutter as her heart began pounding when the man lean toward her face. He smelled nice. It wasn't the smell of a cologne but it was more like a natural smell of freshly cut wood.

One thing Mona can't resist was the smell of nature and this man has got that smell. She was practically trying to hide her drooling over his body.

His face was hidden by his hair which fell on part of his face. His face was perfectly curved like a newly refined ornament. Though it was dark and she couldn't see him clearly, with a shape like that, he must surely be one hell of a knockout, Mona thought.

She shook her head at the thought running through her mind. What was she thinking, she was about to be raped! No, that's not right. He wasn't doing anything other than feeling her skin. He was a pervert!

"Pervert! Get the hell off me or I will call the cops right now!" Mona threatened him as her eyes flew wide looking around for any object of defence.

Lester stopped his action for a minute as he responded to the girl." Pervert? Many girls are dying to be in this position right now and you are calling me a pervert?"

"I am not one of those girls! Who do you think you are? Even I would give no damn about Lester Leon the youngest billionaire not to talk of you!"

"Is that so?" Lester asked in a dangerous tone. This girl was even damning him! What guts!

"I am warning you for the last time or else I will…I will…" Mona said as she suddenly had an idea. Lifting her leg slowly, she raised it towards the man.

"You will what? Arrrrrrrrghhh!" Lester groans in anguish as the girl's leg hit his crotch.

Before he could collect himself, the girl had run off. She was faster than a rabbit. How could she vanish like that?

"Arrrgghh! I will surely get you back someday!" Lester said as he groan in pain. Luckily, he had dodged the fatal hit. It was just the impact that gave him pains.

As he was swearing at the girl, he saw a glittering object on the ground. It was an earring. It must have been hers.

He couldn't even see her face in the dark. Who was she and why did she have such a calming effect on him?

As he was in deep thought, he saw Gerald walking toward him anxiously.

"I managed to escape from that troublesome girl! I am telling you, I am going to commit suicide one of these days because of Rosa. Can you believe she made me run around the club several times! I had to hide…bro, what's wrong with you? Are you okay?" Gerald, who was talking, noticed Lester's unusual expression.

"Gerald, did you notice any waitress fleeing past this corridor just now?" Lester asked as he straightened himself up.

"There had been several waitresses who had passed through this door. What's up with you and a waitress? Don't tell me one of them caught your fancy, bro" Gerald said with a grin.

"Shut up! Let's get out of here. Now!" Lester said as he dipped the earring into his pocket. He had no time to waste explaining to Gerald right now.

His mind ran to what happened moments ago and a smile displayed on his ever serious expression.

Gerald, who saw the smile on his face, was visibly shocked. What happened to him when he wasn't around?

Is the world coming to an end? Lester couldn't be bothered by his friend as he continued walking out of the bar.

It was regrettable that he couldn't see her face clearly in the dark. Would their paths cross again?
