70 Out of line

"Please have a seat." Mr.Antonio said with a wide smile and invited Quince and Wan Lin over to the table specially decorated with fresh flowers.

Quince was seated at the head of the table as the important VIP guest and Wan Lin was placed right beside him. Mr.Antonio sat opposite Wan Lin and the rest of his team sat down according to their positions.

There were chatters and laughter on the dinner table and a dance performance was arranged by the host. The dancers were beautifully dressed in different traditional clothes.

The main feature of the show was the arrangement and mixture of many different cultures, with all authentic clothes that highlight the prominent feature of that particular culture.

All the dancers danced a dance from each culture in their own authentic clothes.

'Interesting.' Wan Lin thought as she rolled her spaghetti and stuffed it elegantly in her mouth.

She was only focused on the performance and did her best to ignore Mr.Antonio.

She felt his gaze on her from time to time and had been ignoring him unless necessary. She knew that if she didn't do that, she may lose it and punch his face that had that perverted expression on it.

Mr.Antonio switched between staring at Wan Lin and trying to engage Quince in a conversation. He tried to talk about business with him and was frustrated when Quince didn't give him much of a reply. Mr.Antonio was extremely unhappy as none of his targets were giving him attention.

That was until he changed the topic of conversation to something else.

"Mr.Esplanatda, forgive me for asking, but how long has Miss Wan Lin been working for you?" Mr.Antonio asked as he openly stared at Wan Lin.

Wan Lin immediately glanced up at Mr.Antonio when she heard her name being mention, much to his delight.

"Why do you ask?" Quince asked back instead of answering his question, his mood changing from neutral to mild irritation. He noticed Mr.Antonio's occasional glances at Wan Lin with that love struck expression on his face and it was making it hard for him not to resort to violence.

"Nothing in particular! Just that I noticed how efficient she is! She was able to deal with all the questions and answered them in your stead during our meeting." Mr.Antonio immediately gave his explanation, sensing the cold atmosphere around Quince.

"She has been working for a while." Quince replied and continued eating his food. Mr.Antonio was immediately annoyed once more at his answer. However, he did not give up and continued trying his best to discuss other topics with Quince.

Wan Lin seeing that laughed inside her head at his desperation. She sipped her drink and watched him come up with different topics to talk about, only to be ignored by her cat.

'If he's that easy to woo, he won't be my cat!' Wan Lin thought with a secret smirk inside her head.

She was still laughing deviously until Mr.Antonio lowered his voice and leaned closer to Quince.

Wan Lin was extremely curious about it and did her best to tune out the music and subtly focused on the soft words being whispered.

She didn't manage to hear the full sentence but she heard words like,'dancer....gift....beauties....pleasure....warmth.'

It was enough for her to know what the cunning man was trying to offer her cat! Wan Lin was extremely angry, but playing the role of the cold secretary, she breathed deeply before clearing her throat.

Both men looked at her with different expressions on their face.

Mr.Antonio, with delight that she was finally trying to talk to him and Quince with his usual signature non expression. However, if one looked closely,

they would see a touch of amusement swirling deep in his eyes.

He knew she heard Mr.Antonio's words and even though he had no intention of accepting his offer, it still made him want to know what she would do.

He finally saw the mask of the perfect cold secretary cracking and he couldn't help rejoicing at being able to indirectly break her facade.

"I would like to propose a toast." Wan Lin said and raised her glass up. Everyone followed suit and raised their glasses up as well.

Quince did too and raised one of his brows up slightly, realizing that she was breaking protocol. It wasn't her place to suggest a toast as her current position was that of a mere secretary. If it were anyone else, he would have fired that person on the spot.

'But then again, no one else would have the guts to do so.' Quince concluded in his mind.

He didn't pay much attention to the protocol and simply waited for her to continue. Wan Lin paused as well as she realized that she had done something out of place. 'Damn it!' She cursed in her mind. Knowing she couldn't do anything about it now, she proceeded forward.

"To a successful cooperation!" She said and drowned the liquid in her cup. Everyone yelled "To a successful cooperation!" out and the dinner instantly transformed into a drinking contest.

Wan Lin and Quince accepted good cheers from everyone. Many people approached Wan Lin after seeing her spirit and drank with her. Wan Lin couldn't dodge all the requests and inevitably had to drink some.

Quince didn't stop her as he realized that even though she had been drinking a lot, she still had a neutral expression on her face. She looked calm and steady with no change whatsoever.

'Impressive, as expected of the Vancroft heir.' Quince complimented her in his heart.

"Mr.Esplanatda" Mr.Antonio called out to Quince and he turned away from Wan Lin to listen to the man.

"I have reserved a room in this hotel for you to stay tonight. It would be an honor for us if you could stay and evaluate our services." Mr.Antonio said with a wide smile on his face.

Normally, Quince wouldn't accept such hospitality but since he remembered a direct order from the head of the group to be good to the host, he accepted it.

Quince planned to stay the night here and let the driver escort Wan Lin home. After half an hour went by, Quince and Wan Lin walked to the elevator.

She was playing the role of a good secretary by going to drop her boss off.

Wan Lin was extremely quiet as she stood behind Quince in the glass elevator that was going up to the VIP suite on the top most floor.

Quince didn't think anything was unusual as in her role as his secretary, she usually kept that cold persona on.

That was until after they walked out of elevator to the Suite room.

Wan Lin and Quince soon stood in front of the room. Quince took the key card out and opened the door. He was about to turn to dismiss her when

he suddenly heard a giggle from behind him.

Surprised at the sound, Quince immediately spun around to look at Wan Lin's face. He realized that it had gone completely red.

"Quince." She said in her sweet albeit drunk voice before reaching out her hands to touch his face. "It's been a while kitty cat~~!"

Saying that, she immediately pushed Quince inside the room before kicking the door slammed shut.
