Nobunaga's wrat
Nobunaga was bent over some documents when he heart a faint commotion. His quarters were normally very quiet, so he could concentrate on his work. He hated to be disturbed. He sighted and continued reading the document that lay before him on his desk. After a while he heard some shuffling and wild whispering outside his door. He couldn't work like this! Angrily he tried to concentrate on the same sentence he already read tree times. After a while he was back in his work zone and could cancel out all the background noise from outside his room. When someone knocked on his door he almost lost it. He had to take a few deep breaths before he told the person to come in. One of the castle guards pushed lady Gehin inside. She looked awful. Her normally perfectly styled bun was a mess, her carefully put on make up faded and she was covered in blood. Mitsuhide had given her as a wedding gift. Tasteless and tacky if you would ask him but unfortunately he wasn't in a position to refuse. And even then, this woman was anything but his preference in women. He liked to hunt, concur, work for his rewards and this woman had just thrown herself at him. For a moment he was surprised that when he thought about the perfect woman the face of his legal wife, Lady Nohime, flashed before his eyes. Before he could ask what happened Gehin threw herself at his feet and began to dramatically cry.
"I don't do anything, I was attacked!" She cried while clutching onto the hem of his robe.
"What in gods name happened?" Nobunaga asked while keeping his irritation in check.
"Your legal wife, she attacked me because she was jealous of my beauty and wanted to dispose of me!" Gehin cried even louder than before. Nobunaga couldn't help but smirk. Even though he only once had a conversation with Lady Nohime, he knew for sure that she wouldn't do that for such a reason.
"Oh my, it seems a was neglecting my legal wife lately. I should probably spent more time with her." He said. Gehin gave him a shocked look. Just as he expected, het eyes were completely dry.
"Uhum, my lord..." The guard said quietly.
"Yes speak, tell me what you saw." Nobunaga orderen.
"Tell him that you saw that that bastards daughter assaulted me!" Gehin yelled at the top of her lungs.
"It is true that the injuries that Lady Gehin have befallen are made by Lady Nohime." The guard began his story. Gehin had a smug look on her face but Nobunaga knew his men. They would never dare to lie at him.
"But that was only for self defense. Lady Gehin handed out the first stroke." The guard continued. Gehin smirk disappeared like snow on a sunny day and she became pale.
"Is my wife wounded?" Was the only thing Nobunaga asked. Now the guard also began to sweat.
"Honestly my lord, i'm not sure. Two maids escorted her back to her own quarters, but there was a lot of blood." The guard continued while he shook in fear.
"I'll personally go check on my wife. If I find out there is even one hair on my wife's head that is hurt, you know what to do." Nobunaga gave his ominous order to the guard before he left his study and made his way to Nohime's quarters.
""Lord Nobunaga-sama!" A maid exclaimed while he walked past her. The maid made such a deep bow het nose almost touched the ground. "Please don't punish Lady Nohime. I was there and can vouch for her. She acted out of self defense." The maid said with a trembling voice. Nobunaga don't know what to say for a moment. He was perplex at the idea that this maid was so attached to Nohime-sama that she would put her own life on the line.
"No need to worry, I'm only going to check the wellbeing of my wife." He said calmly.
"Thank you great lord!" The maid said while she made another deep bow and hurried of. Within the quarters of his wife was a lot going on. The three maids he had appointed to his legal wife walked trough the room while they were clearly all angry. So angry they didn't even noticed that he had entered the room. His wife was sitting at the low table with her back to him so he couldn't see her face.
