Chapter 56: Robbing *Ehem Ehem* Saving Blade. 

Walking out of the sewer, the beaten-up doctor is surrounded by many Shield agents. 

Phil approaches him hurriedly. "Are you okay?" 

"Yes, only a minor wound." He said as Phil noticed blood on his suit. 

"I am really tired though"

"I have hunted down all that I can see. I'll leave the rest to you." 

He walked away from the place as he needed to get to France now. 'I don't know what has happened to Blade.' He is a little worried.

Ryan has been monitoring the convoy that carries Blade out of the country. But didn't know what was going on inside the vehicle.

"Sir, we need to get your statement and answer some of our questions" An obnoxious agent commanded him abruptly, stopping him in his path. Kai looks at the agent coldly. 

He's not planning on any bullshit as he just came out of a fight. He pulls his gun towards the agent and said mockingly "Try to stop me" 

The agent doesn't believe that Kai is going to shoot a government agent. "Sir, I insist. Your statement.." Before he finished speaking, Kai pulled the trigger. 

*Bang* All the agents are alert and point their guns at him. He shot the obnoxious agent in the shoulder, not minding the guns pointed at him at all. 

"Try again?" He smiles. The next bullet will be on the head. 

"You're ARRESTED!!" The agent is in disbelief. He wanted to do something before Coulson stepped in. 

"You can go now, thank you for your help, Kai." 

The agent that is clutching his shoulder yells at Coulson. 

"What do you think you're doing? He shot me!" 

He is at the same level as Coulson, he doesn't have to follow commands unless necessary. 

Kai nods at Phil and walks away. The team that follows Phil into the sewer helps him by opening a path among the other agents.

The idiotic agent screams "Catch him right now! WHAT ARE YOU DOING? WHY ARE YOU JUST STANDING THERE?" He pushes a newbie agent to go and catch Kai, but no one will obey his command. 

'What am I? Stupid?' The newbie disdains the order in his heart.

"That man just fought thousands of creatures. Do you think anyone here could stop him?" Coulson is so tired of the guy's bullcrap that he stopped being polite.

"We could have ended this on a good note, but instead you HAVE to do that shit" Leyia mocks the agent openly. 

The idiot is dumbfounded by the events.'What will I answer to Director Pierce later on' He got a direct order as a certain Hydra head wants to meet Kai before Fury does.  

He didn't realize that while he is contemplating, Phil Coulson is monitoring him with cold eyes. 

'For Kai to shoot him only in the shoulder, means he'd already given mercy to the guy.' He knows that Kai won't behave like that unless necessary. 

The Shield team stayed there for a while and checked the sewer. They went in with extreme tension, in case they got ambushed. Some are startled because of the sudden sound, but it's only from rats.

"There are no more mutants in the sewer. I think he should get a medal or something for his actions." a newbie agent said. This is his first time in the field.

"Alas, we are fighting the creature in the shadows. They are never meant for the public. So, his deed will have to be buried here" Coulson said with some longing. "One day, will... Never mind.." 

The newbie agent is confused, but Coulson doesn't continue talking. "Try to find the total number of creatures here" 

After two days of investigations, the number of mutant creatures in the sewer totaled 12,967. The number greatly shocked the organization. 

"Put Kai's name in the Avenger project," Fury said to Phil. 

A major threat to the world, but it's solved by a lone man with a sword. Another man with a sword is forgotten by Shield…

… 

Getting out of the agents' encirclement, Kai rides his BMW S1000RR superbike and goes to a nearby hotel. He takes a long hot bath and rests for a while.  

He changes his clothes into another suit before he texts Ryan. Of course, he will send the bill for the damaged suit to Phil. 

At that time, Phil is commanding the investigation. When the text came, he tried to hold his laugh, but couldn't. The newbie agent looks at him weirdly again. 

Phil thought ' The price for saving the world. An Armani suit and Clinic window. That's the cheapest price I have ever experienced '

"I'm ready now. Please send me to France. The closer to the place the better." Kai said. The convoy just reached France at that time.

5 seconds later, Ryan comes into the hotel room. He grabs Kai and says " Hold on".  He teleports them together to the European Health Consortium. 

They left just like that. The team of agents nearby that are tasked to monitor Kai by Fury's order doesn't even notice that he's taken off.

"Whistler tracking shows that he is inside." Ryan shows the location to Kai while they are outside the building. 

"Are you going to come in?" Kai asked while he was getting ready.

"Why? Are you tired? I can take your place if you want?" Ryan said. He is a little bored at home as Gwen is still working. 

"After the laborious question and answer session…wait, it was more like an interrogation session, finally she let me off the hook," Ryan complained.

"I am bringing Gwen to the island. Will you bring Skye?" 

"We will talk about that later. I feel like it's not the perfect timing for Skye right now" 

Ryan is looking extremely excited to fight. Kai notices it and says "Forget it. I'm afraid of what you'll do if you go in alone." 

"I am just going to invade minds and steal stuff tho. The savings will be left for you. 

He equipped an assassin creed style black robe, while he covered up his entire face with a mask. Only a pair of glowing-purplish eyes is seen on his face.

"Let's go"

Nyssa woke up on her bed. There are still traces of burning on her left cheek because of the UV bomb. She is healing slowly.

She sees her father, Eli Damaskinos, sitting on the chair near her desk. Eli is even bluer than the mutants, as a result of his various experiments. 

 She gets up and walks to her father. 

(In Romanian) "You're awake," Eli said without looking at Nyssa.

"Father, I have shamed you. I have dishonored the family crest." 

She hugs her father's knees and places her head on his lap. With tears in her eyes, she said "Blade saved me… He is a brave and honorable man." 

Eli tries to pat her head, but she turns to face him and asks. "Is he still... Alive?"

Eric wakes up in a glass cage. Whistler and Scud are there with him. 

Whistler said to Eric who is checking his body."They took all of it. Your weapon."

The old man continues "This whole thing is a trap. Someone has been feeding the vampire information from the inside. The reaper virus hasn't evolved, but it was designed... Nomak told me in the sewer."

Whistler is cut off by a sudden voice.

"Did he now?" Eli Damaskinos walks into the cage with Nyssa and is followed by Reinhart.

"How generous of him", the Vampire Overlord, Eli turns to his cryo-chamber. He opened the chamber, making the people there see his invention.

"I have brought you here to witness the fruit of our labor." Inside the chamber, hundreds of vampire fetuses that have the same mutation as Nomak are there. Eli started his villain monologue.

"...I have got rid of our weakness. Silver, garlic, stake to the heart. All of it will no longer work. With DNA recombinant technology, I've managed to Evolve..our kind."

"And I think you ..hold the key to our next evolution. A new pure race, rid of every hereditary disease that our kind have"

Whistler cuts him off. "I have a question for you, you lying Son OF A B*tch" He throws Nomaks ring to Eli's feet. It is the family crest of Damaskinos' family, the same one that his daughter has. 

"You want to explain how the ring ends up in Nomaks hand?"

Nyssa picks up the ring in confusion. But what Eli said next clears up her foggy mind. 

" I thought it was obvious at this point. The ring is a gift."

"A gift from a father to his son"

All the sacrifices, her friends, and even her life were her father's plans in the first place. She looked at her father in agony. Then, she looked at Blade. The one who saves her without even thinking about it. Her heart broke. Tears start pooling in her eyes. 

She takes one last look at Blade before running away from the scene. Eli Damaskinos also walks away, as Reinhardt already knows what to do with these people.

Reinhart says " I thought he'd never leave''.He grabs his gun and shoots Blade in the leg. *Bang* Blade fell to his knees. 

He tries to detonate a bomb that he put on the cavemen's head before " You can kiss your ass goodbye, Reinhart." 

Scud, who is captured with them, cuts in " The bomb is just a dummy"

He walks over to the vampire side." Ha Ha Ha I'm sorry B. The bomb is a dud. It's never meant to explode. It is just supposed to make you "feel in control" ". 

Reinhardt pulls the bomb connected to his head away, leaving 4 small rectangular marks. He passes the bomb to Scud.

" You may be fast, you may be strong, and all the other bullshit," Scud said to Blade. " But in the end, you're too HUMAN!" he punches Blade while he is down.

Scud lets the vampire in the warehouse in the first place. He's also the one who keeps Whistler away from Blade before the vampire has use for the old man, as Whistler is Blade's only weakness.

" Why do you do this?" Blade asks calmly.

"You heard the Overlord. Pretty soon they are all going to be Daywalker. When that happens, I'd rather be a pet than a cattle." Scud tries to justify his actions. " What do you think about that man?"

While taking a short breath, Blade said. " Two things. First, I was already onto you when you turned." Scud face changes.

" And secondly. The bomb is not a dud" 

Blade detonates the bomb that Scud is holding.

"Oh SHIT" Before he could throw the bomb away, Scud exploded into pieces, leaving bits of his flesh all over the floor and the walls. That is the miserable end of the traitor.

The security team tased Blade again. They are bringing Blade for harvesting. 

"Blood, flesh, bone marrow. We are going to search for what makes you so special". All of his limbs are pierced with an anchor so that his blood is going to be drained.

At this time, Whistler is left alone with Reinhart. Although he is bloodied up, the old man said to the vampire that is torturing him. "Nomak is hungry for revenge".

Reinhart is smirking. " But he'll never know of this location." Suddenly the vampire hears a voice that he wanted to forget. The one who humiliated him before. 

"Are you sure man? Nomak is already breaking through the front door"

Kai said that before he kicked Reinhart as strong as he could. The vampire flies through the room and takes out 2 familiars in his path before he sinks through the walls. Debris falls on the vampire's body. "Are you okay old man?"

"We need to find Blade." The old man says as Kai takes him out of his handcuff. "Thank you" Whistler never thought that he still had allies. Even before, there are only him and Blade taking on the entire dark world.

"To thank me, get me Blade's autograph later" 

The duo hears the sound of footsteps running in their direction. 

The old man focuses on searching for his son-like partner. While Kai is facing the familiars. 

"I'm going to find the lawyer. That guy must have handled the bank account" Kai hears Ryan's voice telepathically and he nods in agreement.

Using a double dagger, Ryan took out several vampire familiars before he got to the lawyer. He reads the guy's mind before killing him. "Jackpot!"

"Come on kid. Don't you even think about dying on me" Whistler said with a shattered heart. He already arrives where Eric is and he sees his son lying on the cold, metal surgical table unconscious with a metal tube draining his blood.

"You didn't give up on me! I won't give up on you!" The old man holds Blade's head gently. He tries to wake him up. And it works. Blade is responding, but barely. He needs blood to heal himself.

Whistler supports him while walking towards the vat of blood Eli Damaskinos uses to take a bath. 

Reinhardt, the cockroach-like vampire, shoots at the duo. He is also carrying Blade's sword in his hand. It seems like he wanted to kill Blade with his sword.

Eric fell into the vat of blood as Whistler pushed him into it. He emerges stronger than ever. 

Easily, he kills Reinhardt by grabbing the sword and cutting the guy into two. 

Eli is running away from Nomak who broke into the compound. But Nyssa cuts off his exits and makes him face Nomak instead."What are you doing Nyssa?"

"Ending the circle," She said.

Helpless, he tries to plead with his son. 

(in Romanian) "All that has befallen you, is terrible... tragedy... But you have now returned to me." He said while shaking. "we will find a cure" 

He hugs the mutant. "After all, you're a Prince. Together, we will conquer all." 

At this time, the blue wrinkled vampire feels his head is invaded by someone. He became paralyzed.

Nomak whispered in his ear. "If what you said is true. Then why did your voice tremble so?" 

He looks at his father lovingly. "Father", he calls him one last time, before biting Eli's neck. "Arrgh''. 

Blue blood sprouted from the bite, making Eli stagger. Cracks appear on his body because of the virus. Finally, the overlord dies, leaving Nyssa alone with the mutant. 

She took off her ring, and threw it into Eli's pool of blood." Finish it off Brother. Let's end the circle." She said to Nomak while offering her neck. 

Nomak swipes her hair and face with his finger. He said "You were his favorite" before he bit Nyssa to turn her. Blade, who is running for Eli, sees this scene of blood coming out of Nyssa. 

(in English) "NOMAK!!" He yells angrily. 

"Blade, it could end right here." Nomak is tired now, he wants it all to end. He got his revenge.

Blade jumps from the first-story balcony and stabs the mutant with his sword. 

But it is useless. They fought without saying anything, animalistic and bloody. Finally, blade manages to stab Nomak in his heart, but his sword is stuck on the bone rib encasing it. 

*Clang * the sword broke into two, making them fall in the opposite direction. 

Nomak said while panting. "It's strange." He checks the broken sword sticking from his side chest. 

"It hurts….." He holds the sword. ".. It hurts no more" He smiles then he pushes the sword into his heart, killing himself. Nomak is tired of the world. 

The constant pain because of his father's experiment on him. All he wanted is to get acknowledged, but instead, he turned into a monster. 

He never asks to be born. At the very least, he wants to die on his term. His body bursts into fiery blue fire and turns to ashes.

Blade staggers to get to Nyssa. Fighting Nomak takes a toll on him. He places the dying vampire on his lap and holds her hand.

"It won't be long till I turn into a monster...I want to die while I'm still a vampire." She pleads to Blade. "I want to see… the sunrise." 

He carries her outside after he opens the door. They sit to wait for the sunrise together. A minute later, only Blade is sitting there, watching the sun. Nyssa has turned into ashes, in his arms. 

… 

Where is Kai during all this? He is robbing." Hahaha a mountain of gold. Vampires sure are rich", he wants to swim in the pile of gold coins, but it's physically impossible for a human to do that. 

He takes all of it into his storage ring. Like a vacuum, all the coins flew into the ring. 

"By estimate, it's 50 tons of gold. I can use this for a long time." Not only gold but there are also diamonds, priceless artwork, armory, and more. 

Ryan has already transferred all the vampire assets in Europe and all over the continent after he read the lawyer's mind.

"I also have a cash flow of 200 billion dollars. As expected of a vampire that lives for hundreds of years." All the vampire bank accounts are emptied by him. 

Not only that, he has a list of vampire familiars that are company chairman and CEOs all over the world." New target " They smirk slyly. 

They finish it up by 'cleaning' the building. No familiars or vampires could escape.

They regroup after the work is done. Kai asks "You want to go meet Blade right?"

"Yes please." The duo walks to Blade's position but halfway there, Ryan gets a notification.

"I need to go. Banner turns green again." He changes his clothing to an Iron Suit of his own. The slick ebony metal armor is equipped on him. He teleported away to India, where the incident happened.

He had been doing these a few times since he got in contact with Dr. Banner. He didn't fight the Hulk, but instead, he focuses on evacuating the people and saving innocent lives.

Kai said "Too bad". He continues walking alone until he meets Blade and Whistler.

"Did you get what you wanted?" Whistler asks him. 

"Yes, it takes a lot of effort to find."  He takes out a few documents and gives them to the duo. 

"It's a list of know vampires under Eli and their bases" 

They wrap things up at the consortium building. 

"Lastly, Blade…" Kai takes out a piece of paper. "Please give me autographs". 

Blade, who is in a complicated mood, smiles a little. "Okay" 

"If there is anything you need help with, just give me a call" Kai takes out his real name card and gives it to the duo. 

"Wait, your name is not Coulson? And you're a doctor?" 

Kai smiles and turns on his bike's ignition. Whistler is flabbergasted. All this time they fought together but he didn't even bother to check Kai's identity. 

"Before, it seems stupid to give my real identity, with the vampire and the sort. Now that it's over, I have no problem giving you my name." 

Kai tries to give the old man a logical approach. It seems like the old man bit the bait and nodded. He couldn't say to them it's because they never ask, can he? 

They split away after exchanging contact numbers. Kai goes to the airport to take an ordinary plane home. While he is waiting, Phil comes to sit next to him. 

"I won't ask you how you got to France or what you did there, but now you're going home, I assume the matter is over?" He tries to pry. 

Kai knows that Shield has to get an explanation, so he gives them a few minor details about Eli Damaskinos' plan. 

Phil breathes a sigh of relief. "I see, that's good to hear. " 

Shield is on red alert as they think it's the next evolution of the vampires. But if the whole incident is planned, they can rest easy now that it's over. 

Kai already destroyed the experiment data and all the vampire fetuses before he got out of the place. Coulson just nods and takes his statement. 

'That obnoxious bastard almost gets in Kai's way. I need to report this to director Fury. He needed to pay for this.' the agent made a small note in his mind. 

Altogether, the incident takes place in less than 2 days. Kai returned home to his loft in New York. Coulson does everything in his power to make sure that Kai gets the best treatment on his way home. 

His ticket is changed into a first-class ticket. He was served by a personal flight attendant, who is also a Shield agent. He doesn't mind it though as Phil wants to give him the best treatment.

 Even the agent hinted at something extra, but Kai declined it. He falls asleep on the plane, and his tiredness catches upon him.

" Uff " all the air comes out of his lungs as Skye lunges at him and hugs him tightly when he returns to his house. "Welcome home Kai."

He patted her head. "You miss me or something?" That seems to have ticked her off.

"Hmph, who says I did?" but she is still hugging him.

A week later, all the familiar under Eli Damaskinos is summoned to a hidden place in the valley. They are confused by the sudden call. 

While chit-chatting, Eli Damaskinos enters the room. "My familiars, we have succeeded" 

The crowd cheers!! 'Finally, we can have immortality with no weaknesses'. 

Many in this room are old businessmen, senators, and politicians from various countries. 

One thing these people have in common is that they are all the same people who are afraid of leaving their wealth and power when they die. 

Suddenly, the cheers stop. That is because they saw. Eli Damaskinos is changing into a young man. They know this man. "He is…" 

"Ryan Knight at your service. Wow you guys are really happy even when you betray your race" 

'Something is wrong,' The traitors can feel it. The door locks on its own.

"Argh" The hundreds of people there scream while holding their heads. After 30 minutes of torture, an old man took the lead to approach Ryan. 

He kneels at Ryan's foot. "Master" 

Ryan had changed their loyalty to him. It wasn't eternal loyalty.

"Anyone else?" Ryan doesn't plan on being nice. Obey, or you'll die. If they tell people what happens here, they will die. They try to write about the incident that happened, they will die. 

Try to make trouble for him, they will die. Disobey his order, they will die.

The crowd turned lifeless afterward. These are the consequences of their actions.

Ryan returned home after his endeavor. "Ahh, I need to get some rest." He decided to take a hot bath.
