  Chapter 6 – Skillbook

Some Time Before Aurum reached Saya, Sevensons Near Fujimai Academy,

"I can see them, the zombies," Eve stood at the edge. From here, they could see the whole city burn, zombies on rampage and the signs of humans were few in sight.

"Yeah," Aurum stood behind her, running his palm over his little sister's velvety skin, hearing her pleased moan as he kissed her ear and cheek. His eyes fixed on the other side of the road, "Zombies don't have the mind or motor skills to climb to this room. I am leaving behind oil and torch in case a horde of them from under you. And then there is the other stuff if necessary."

He glanced over to three big chests behind them, and Eve softly nodded, "There is also a car parked in the woods. Sound, light, I thought they would reach to one or both these things, so I set it up especially to attract zombies. Remote is right there. If they start collecting then guide them away. If they still come for you, then burn them down. There are a few grenades of you to use, and an emergency escape plan. Ok?"

Eve slowly turned around in his arms, placing her palm on his shoulder. She sweetly whispered, "Big brother…I don't want you going into danger…"

Aurum closed his eyes with a smile, placing his forehead against hers, "And Eve…I want to fuck you so bad so wait for me to come back."

Eve's facial expression froze. She pulled his cheek, huffing and puffy, "always so crude! Can't you say good, sweet things to me!"

"I want to bend you over those chests and make a mess out of you in the middle of zombie apocalypse?" Aurum pointed towards the chest, looking at her with his confident, smug smile as she folded her hands.

She crossed her arms, glaring at him, "This is a zombie apocalypse. Only someone mad would want to have sex in the open where zombies can hear and come for you…then big brother is that mad for me…I guess it is barely sweet enough."

"There you go," Aurum clasped her cheek, raising her face to face him, whispering, "there you go. Be careful and don't take a risk. I'll be right back."

"Yes, I'll be here," Eve murmured, placing her palm on his feeling his warmth against her palm and cheek, "and I'll do whatever big brother wants."

"Yeah…" Eve tried to keep his palm, the palm that he dragged away a little longer to her face. She slowly opened her content eyes, seeing her big brother pull up the ladder they used, and then jump down from directly from there. It leaned forward on the roof's fence, watching him strutting around in that white coat, heavy from the guns he was carrying, and he climbed on the bike, leaving without a moment's hesitation in his eyes.

She walked back to lay down on the chest, 'I don't doubt that big brother would be fine. He wasn't exactly strong when we were children. Though there were no limits, that big brother would never cross to protect me. The first thing he picked up was poisoning.'

On Road,

Aurum throttled the bike at full speed, racing through the road. He was sure that it would attract the zombies towards this direction from the loud sound. The voice was as loud as the lawnmower, making him worry about the zombie, but it was good, since it would attract the zombies towards him. He hit the brakes, twisting the bike to the side as the bike came to a stop.

He put the stand, getting off the bike before walking towards the gate. The gates were already open and the white tiles around the statue reached all the way to the gate. There was a reason why he stopped. He was expecting to see zombies all around playground like he saw on that day from the roof. Yet, "there is not a single zombie here."

He pushed the bike forward with his hands, parking on the white tiles when he heard the voice of this thing.

[You have entered Safe Area.]

"Safe area," Aurum closed his eyes for a moment, resting his curled finger on his lips, "Nope, it is better if Eve is there rather than this safe area. What if it suddenly disappears after an hour or two. I don't trust it."

He walked across the area, leaving his bike there, since he didn't mind losing it. He was wearing the white coat so he could keep multiple guns. He pulled out two of them, taking out silencers from the pocket of his cargo pants. He didn't much go with the style, having more pockets was what he needed. It made it heavier to run, but that wasn't difficult.

Since the zombies couldn't enter the safe area, they were collecting around the lockers. From what he could see, there were about 20 of them, and he pointed one of the guns, closing one eye to aim better and she started shooting with one hand, "One, two, three, four, five, six, seven…eleven…thirteen…fifteen…change."

He started shooting with his left hand while dropping the magazine from H&K V9 Tactical in the pocket of his cargo pants, trying to replace it one hand. He missed a shot, having to use 21st Bullet to shoot the 20th zombie, "Damn, this is really hard. I don't think it is possible."

He started clearing the magazine and reloading it when he noticed the white lights coming out from the zombies. As they disappeared, they left behind items one after the other, from bread to packed croissant, bullets that he used to kill them, multiplied, littered with items, and even a notebook.

He reloaded the gun, starting to shift the eating items and weapons like a crowbar to one side. Even the bullets. He already had the ones he needed. The only thing he picked was the notebook, along with the platinum card that was the only thing that stood out among all the items. He opened the notebook, rummaging through the pages, when a voice rang out in his head.

[You Learned Sharp Shooting (E-Rank)]

The book disappeared, and he could feel information swim through his nerves, going to his brain, and then spreading through his body, improving his accuracy even further, making him close his eye, "So…my aim improved?"

He scratched the back of his head, "Not that I needed that. Then this card…?"

He kept it in his pocket, "I will see that later."

Aurum walked through the corridor, taking the stairs two floors up. He already knew that the club rooms will be fine. The only one he was worried about was Saya. He opened one of the rooms on the left of the stairs, there were a few zombies there. He took out a grenade from coat pocket, throwing it inside the room before running to another room and closing the door behind.

BANG

'That should lure the zombies to one location.'

Aurum kept his ear to the door, listening to the sound of growling zombies passing by one after the other. The noise attracted the attention of the zombies, drawing them to the source. Once he heard the last of sound he stepped out, seeing the zombies huddle in one corner, trying to enter the room. He threw the grenade to the corner before running further away from there, "the only reason why zombie apocalypse is so scary is because it's so random. For now, I can still deal with them."

The grenade blasted, when he turned and threw another one, it hit the wall near the room.

TICK

It changed direction, dropping inside the room.

BANG

He took a deep breath, "I might actually be having fun, putting these skills to use."

He planned to go to a higher floor before taking the second set of stairs on the other side of the building when he noticed a group of zombies standing in front of the gate, trying to enter when their bodies kept falling one after the other. A smile appeared on his lips. He aimed to shoot the zombie, but whoever was inside killed them on their own. He slowly walked towards them, seeing them turn into while light. He looked inside, finding Saya and Hirano inside the room.

Hirano's eyes were shivering, shocked, his hand trembling. Aurum could tell it wasn't from killing the zombies, much like Saya, it was the fact that zombies were turning into white lights, 'yeah, that was quite a shock to me. I had to hug Eve to calm myself down.'

He knocked on the door, smiling, "Hey, you alive? You had me worried there."

"Aurelius!!" Saya lunged towards him, hugging him as tightly as she could, sobbing in his arms. He stroked her pink hair, looking towards Kohta Hirano, who looked shaken still.

"Customising nail gun is good and all. Do you want a Beretta—"

"Woah! A Beretta! 92FS, right?!" He snatched the handgun from Aurum's hand, "This is a beauty! Smooth lines, ergonomic grip! 9mm calibre! Just perfect for balanced stopping power and manageable recoil!"

"Don't drool on it man," Aurum stroked Saya's head, who wouldn't let go. Though, his attention was still behind him, 'after all, this is when the zombie comes out and attacks you from behind scenario. Just in case, I'll be cautious.'
