Before you start reading the reviews I advise you to read for yourself first, positive or negative reviews might give you a wrong pre based idea on the story, many great stories on this website have horrible reviews and many poor stories have positive ones, you are the judge of your choice don't let others make you refuse a story just because their opinion of it is different of yours. Happy reading :)

Halloween charms

We spent our days going to classes, studying in the library, and reading books on the couch in the corner of our homeroom away from the antics of the others. Over the past couple of days, Hermione began to join me for early physical activity. We would run around the school grounds, go to our classroom that was used for training and transfigured the chairs into weights to do exercise with.

It was helpful not only for our workouts but to help in our transfiguration practice. Naturally, Hermione would need to start off easy since she didn't have much experience with physical activity. The potion me and Hermione found would need to be postponed until we could source the ingredients.

I was thinking about asking the Weasley twins about it since they were known for smuggling anything and everything in and out of the school. But I put that on hold as well since I wanted Hermione to have a good foundation before adding external variables into the equation.

We worked on our spells which was simply a matter of repetition and getting accustomed to the feeling of magic. I would practice Occlumency with Hermione which honestly really triggered me. She was making immense headway already. What took me a month to achieve, only took her a couple of days.

The only positive I all of this was that Legilimency was very much my style and I found it very easy to learn. I tried to increase my subtlety when using it. It was rough at first but soon I could use it without others finding out. Sure, I couldn't gleam anything from them, but it was good practice.

Soon October 31st rolled around and with it Halloween celebrations. As always, I loathed the sight of pumpkins which made Hermione laugh. Some day I'll get my revenge, I thought silently. She even fed me pumpkin by disguising it as other food. She would change their appearance but keep the same shit taste. I remember gagging at the taste which set off the girl's laughter. Fuck my life honestly.

Shaking my head, I headed towards charms class which was one of the few classes I still found immensely interesting. Not because of the knowledge being taught but because of the stories Professor Flitwick told. His way of storytelling was enchanting, and I found myself immersed in them most of the time.

Today was special, we were learning Wingardium Leviosa, or simply known as the levitation charm. As we walked in, we found our spots. For once me and Hermione faced each other instead of sitting together. It wasn't really our choice as much as it was Flitwick's seating arrangement.

As we took our seats, I saw Potter and Weasley resting their heads on their books as they listened to the introduction for this class. Next to Ron was Hermione as per the movie, and Harry was next to Seamus Finnigan. I was seated next to some random I didn't really know the name of, nor did I care to be honest.

I soon focused on the class. The Professor was wearing a long green cloak and stood on a makeshift stand made from what appeared to be Gilderoy Lockhart's books. I didn't fell pity for the fucker, I hated him with a passion. But I also realised the funny thing about the hiring of Gilderoy Lockhart at Hogwarts.

Naturally, Good old Dumbledore needed a way to teach Harry valuable lessons. Just as my train of thought reached this point, I was interrupted by Professor Flitwick's voice.

"One of a wizard's most rudimentary skills is levitation. Or, the ability to make objects fly," he said as waving his hands and fingers in an upwards motion.

"Ah, do you all have your feathers?" he asked as he looked around the room. Some of the students raised their's but most seemed to not be so enthusiastic about it.

"Good, now uh, don't forget the nice wrist movement we've been practising," he said rolling the R in "wrist" as he took out his wand from his cloak.

"The swish and flick," he demonstrated as he talked.

"Everyone?" he said before doing the motions again. All of us repeated his words in a synchronised and uniform way as we did the intended motion. I saw that Ron, Harry and most importantly Seamus couldn't do it properly. Seamus wasn't even waving it correctly.

"Oh! And enunciate, Wingardium Leviosa" he said sounding out the words slowly for all of us to clearly hear.

"Off you go then," he said.

Soon the discordant sound of the students could be heard as they waved their wands over the feathers placed in front of them. I stared at the feather in front of me with contempt and place my wand back in its sheath before leaning backwards and enjoying others failures.

I saw Ron begin his casting by swinging his wand around and about in a restrained manner. But it soon got out of control as he waved his wand everywhere out of frustration while enunciating the words like a kid with an oral disability.

Harry who was right next to him almost suffered an injury. Thankfully he had his trusty glasses with him.

"Watch out Ron!" he said exclaimed before placing his hand over his face as he blocked Ron's wand.

"Sorry there Harry, I was frustrated," he said apologetically.

I shook my head before turning my attention towards Hermione. In the original, she helped Ron out by demonstrating only to be made fun of for it later. I was surprised to see that she shook her head in disappointment before looking at me. I smiled and gave her a thumbs up. That seemed to raise her spirits as she proceeded to cast the spell.

"Wingardium Leviosa" she enunciated perfectly, causing the once static feather to float slowly and steadily into the air. All the other students stopped to watch; this also caught the attention of the professor who happily clapped at the result.

"Well done Miss Granger! 10 points for Gryffindor," he said with a smile. I could see the happiness written all over Hermione's face at the mention of getting points. It seemed she still cared about the whole points thing. But it was better than before. I saw Weasley mumble something which Hermione failed to notice.

Ron looked indignant before sulking and resting his face back on his books. Seamus could be seen talking without stopping seemingly repeating the chant on and on which eventually caused an explosion. What a funny lad he was.
