Reborn into the most secretive and ancient family of wizards, the Pendragons, he becomes the last heir to a lineage that has wielded magic since the dawn of wizardry itself. Far stronger than the sacred Twenty-Eight, their unparalleled power has drawn the envy and wrath of rivals, reducing the once-mighty family to rubble. Stripped of his birthright and adopted by a muggle family, the young Pendragon bides his time, concealing his true identity. But now, the time has come for his awakening. The world will tremble under the reign of the Lord of Fire as he reclaims his legacy and unleashes his fury upon those who betrayed his family. Devastation follows the dragon. His shadow will be the last thing they see. discord: https://discord.gg/ZexRV5gqu9 I don't own any of the characters except OC's I just like to play in J.K Rowling's world :) Just started writing novels so please be patient as I get better over time. I do not own the cover of this novel, credit goes to: Joshua Raphael on Artstation. IF the artist wishes for me to take this down, please leave a message! Otherwise, please check his art out, its amazing. Before you start reading the reviews I advise you to read for yourself first, positive or negative reviews might give you a wrong pre based idea on the story, many great stories on this website have horrible reviews and many poor stories have positive ones, you are the judge of your choice don't let others make you refuse a story just because their opinion of it is different of yours. Happy reading :)

A sprinkle of comparison, a pinch of potions

But it did shine a light on an aspect of the magical community that to this day I had neglected to think about.

The problems every wizard, in general, was worried about was vastly different. They worried about inflation, the next quidditch match, the new miss witch of the year magazine, and if a new dark lord was going to rise. These were just some basic problems they all had on their minds in England.

Things like gender hierarchy, homosexuality being illegal and all that weren't really problems. And this was for a simple reason. These groups had power and standing. Every wizard had the chance to be powerful. Heck, even the simple fact of having a wand is the same as carrying an AK-47 in your hand. In a way, problems or issues that plagued muggles were not even an afterthought for wizards.

Are you going to go around abusing a gay person when they can point a wand to your head and kill you in a second? No right, so these aren't problems. Women have equal rights to men because they can perform the same magic. There are even instances where women are more adept at using magic than men.

So, these worldly problems that muggles face are actually moot points in the wizarding world. Combine that with the general lack of common sense seen in wizards and you have a completely different society with differing cultures and norms. I would even go to the length of saying their upside down.

But the reason this even correlates to Professor Vaicent is that she was actually a muggle. Meaning that the muggle world where women were oppressed applied to her. so, her struggles were tremendous. Her dying the way she did wasn't that surprising.

It's truly fascinating how different the two worlds are considering that they're within arm's reach of each other. A terrific concept, and one heck of an eye-opener. Once again, it illustrates just how much of an impact a thing like magic has on a species like humans.

But all this didn't take away from the point that she was still a terrible teacher. As I mentioned before, she would fall asleep constantly, usually mid-sentence. This meant that when she did eventually wake up she would go over the same line. And it was a coin toss as to whether she would fall asleep again or actually continue.

I found myself wishing that she wouldn't fall asleep for more than two sentences. But I guess that was my only form of entertainment. Betting with the lads on whether she would fail or succeed. I ended up losing quite a large portion of points. But what was the use for them now? I had almost everything I currently needed.

At least as far as I could think of, I didn't really need anything. And it was due to this simple reason that my loss was bearable. Percival and Fred were rather happy because they got a ton of points from me. Robert was sulking in the corner calling out the goddess of fortune for picking favourites and John never participated. A wise choice I must admit. Since considering his stupidity, he might have lost out more than me.

Apart from history, there was potions. This class ended up going exactly like my potions class with Snape. The fucker kept finding every excuse known to man to punish me. I ended up losing my mind from rage and cast a slipping spell on the floor causing the old man to fall flat on his ass several times over the course of the class.

The funny thing was what came after, he would run around trying to figure out who did it. He would naturally focus on me in which he would look at me for several minutes for any indication of magical use. During that time, he continued to fall over. The guy didn't know that I didn't actually need to do any movements to cast simple magic. Not to mention the use of a wand.

That wasn't the case for offensive magic since it was a bit more complex. At least for now I still showed some indication of when I was using magic.

The class itself was rather standard. We needed to create a repairing potion. This potion had healing properties that were actually similar to the ones Harry would be victim to this year when he would break his arm. That bone-regrowing potion was actually this potion with some minor changes.

Those changes being that instead of flesh from a snot-nosed troll as the main catalyst due to their high healing factor, it was bones of a ghost owl who are known for their specific ability to heal broken or regrow missing bones.

That in conjunction with roots from a crimson tree and leaves from a toad-devouring plant created a potion with the ability to regrow limbs.

The actual process was rather simple.

First, we ignite the cauldron with a gentle flame, the temperature should be no more than 70 degrees Celsius. Any more and the materials will be destroyed in an explosion. Any less and the materials will rot in corrosive liquid created from the decaying flesh of the snot-nosed troll.

Both outcomes will be quite disastrous for the person making the potion.

But this step was rather simple to do. It was just surprising how volatile these materials could become with just the first step going wrong.

Then came the addition of the materials in a rather strict order.

This potion was rather simple since it only had three materials. One main and two supplementary.

"Can anyone tell me why we use roots from a crimson tree instead of bark from a three seasons yellow barbed tree?" Professor Brambleton asked before waving his wand gently. The cauldrons were shut tight by their lids.

"And before you start yapping on about the potion being ruined, you have exactly 1 minute and 3 seconds to answer before it is ruined. In that case, you will all have to start again. So, I wouldn't dally. Does anyone have an answer for me?" he barked sternly while looking around the classroom.

The next moment John, who was about to raise his hand froze and shut his slightly parted mouth. The awkward expression on his face caused everyone to giggle slightly.
